Horton and Denton are both good enough to compete at LB. A fully fit rose, Starbuck are good enough for RB. Evans and Jb good enough for CB, but will still need one or two more.

Boyce is passed it and Barrows is nowhere near good enough. Dire need of a keeper. Jones is in a similar bracket to Mahady, but with inferior distribution. Incredible shot topper, but looks unsure on claiming high balls and not too good at commanding his box.

If we get a good, solid keeper and a CB or two…we should be ok at the back.

I’ve see this Positivity Dave on iron hour post match interviews on youtube and he basically says the same things after a defeat and a victory. This Dave basically rim licks the club and gives every performance a 10/10.

Where has this cringe Dave come from ?. I can’t remember him from back in the day.

Regarding Butler, he’s clearly a good enough manager, but has petty and divisive personality traits. How many times have we witnessed completely uncalled for comments come from Butlers trap ?

I just wish he’d shut up at times. I know a fair few fellow fans who aren’t keen on him for that very reason. So, so petty at times and it’s just not needed. Butler comes across as having a fragile ego and expects/would like every fan to kiss his backside and when anybody comes out and questions him he has this “me against them” mentality.

He needs to wake up and realise we ALL love the same bloody club.

expect Farrell to go back to Barnsley

Let’s send him back and be short of options up top again. Good idea. I’d start him against Truro and give Whitehall a little rest. Whitehall’s been playing a bulk of the season up top on his own and looks tired.

Why take such a chance on a player who’s been playing all season in Scotland as a CM player ?. We needed players to come in now and make an impact. Bare at the back, we literlally have a cobbled together defence.

We had a fantastic chance of rebuilding the squad once the fringe players went and it’s somehow worse now than it was before.

Not quite sure how butler and co allowed the defence to be stretched as it is after all the wide players we’ve signed.

We need a head of recruitment next season, or at the very least a head scout to take charge. Post january recruitment has been scatter gun at best.

Not Boycie’s fault. Injuries mean Butler has no option other than to play him.

Not saying it is. More Butler’s. Why have obsession for wide players when we’re threadbare at the back. Crazy.

Hardly a surprise about our struggles at the back. Boyce is passed it. Horton despite doing well on the whole is a left back covering at CB. Young kid from Sheff utd is ok at best and don’t get me started on Barrows.

Butler should have brought in a CB or two instead of flooding the squad with wide attackers. Absolutely ridiculous. Evans, Jb, Rose all injured and yet nothing has been done.

What does AB do ?…waste money on Hurst and Smith who have both been absolutely garbage. Shambolic recruitment.

Iron awe, why has Butler left the defence so threadbare after so many defenders injured ?. Finally admitted we need defensive players post match, but far too late as it should have been addressed weeks ago.

The squad is terribly balanced. How many wide attackers do we have on the books and how many fit CB’s ?

Recruitment has been shambolic. Butler should be blamed for this.

I know Butler likes Barrows, but he should be nowhere near the 1st team. The lack of marking for their 2nd goal was a complete joke. Why was he stood still 15/20 yards away ?

He needs letting go come the end of the season. Boyce needs to retire. Pair of them are liabilities.

Horton has done relatively well at CB, but don’t forget that he’s really a LB. Soon as Evans is fit at the end of this month he needs to be put next to JB and Horton back out at LB.

Smith looks a shadow of the version we saw. Missed another sitter. Saying that though, he has been playing this season in scotland at CM, it shows too.

Barrows was awful. Boyce’s legs have gone. Evans won’t be match fit until end of this month. Jb better be taking Boyce’s place at CB. Smith looked terrible again out wide. Jones needs to start, but at the back is where the real problems lie.

Shocking again. Player unmarked running off the back of Boyce and Barrows who both must have been sleeping. Free header.

Jb looks better at RB than CB, but rather him at CB than Boyce. I don;t think we need Barrows next season either with Rose and Starbuck at the club, he’s another one who’s solid at NLN, but struggles at this level.

Farrell is match sharp and very good, but not a Smith replacement, more likely Dausch would be and Farrell in theory replaces Whitehall – which isn’t going to happen

Bang on. Farrell isn’t a wide attacker, but Dausch is. I don’t think we’ll see the very best of Connor Smith until next season. Smith had been playing in CM this season when he was up in Scotland so will take him a fair while to adjust. I don’t think Smith’s fitness is there either.

Either we’re patient with Smith and give him game time until he clicks into gear or stick him on the bench and play Dausch who looks like he’s ready to contribute right from the off.

Sounded like it was Howe who forced the move through. No way he’s coming back. Butler was asked this post match and said in so mnay words he’ll be staying there till end of season with a 24 hr call back.

Farrell looks a better bet than Howe in this system anyway. Early days, but he looks like a real striker in the making. Farrell looks to be Whitehall, if Whitehall was more physical and had more pace.

He looks like the exact type of striker we should have signed when we signed Dausch.

If this slump continues and we fall out the play offs some questions will need answering. Most of the players he’s brought in are either not what we needed “wrong type of player” or just been miles off it.

Crying out for an out and out striker to give Whitehall a kick up the arse due to how bad he’s been playing and we sign a young kid from Coventry who looks to be completely the wrong profile of striker we actually needed.

I get the budget is tight, but come on, surely had to be somebody more suitable out there.

I’ll be surprised if hasn’t got a move sorted out behind the scenes with his agent and his mind is elsewhere. I’d have dropped him and got Brogan back, who’s at least in form and will have a point to prove. Beestin would be an ideal step in replacement, but due to the fact we’ve signed such garbage, he has to play left wing despite us having 4 or 5 options for that position.

Roberts said he would stay last week and almost pleaded the club to offer him something and yet nothing. There will naturally be players there who are worrying where they may end up.

Raft of poor signings is a huge blow. Crying out for an out and out striker to put pressure on Whitehall who’s been crap for quite a while and yet sign Dausch who is about a million miles away from the striker we actually needed.

Smith’s biggest contribution was missing a sitter vs Carlisle and Hurst has been terrible. Tells you everything you need to know when Butler is playing Beestin on the wing.

From Butler’s interview regarding Howe is came across as if he forced a move because he was pissed off with not getting game time and most likely wasn’t happy with playing out wide.

Howe got pushed down the pecking order by players of much less ability than himself. We cleared the decks of crap when we moved on chadwick and eze and all Butler has done has restocked the squad with dud squad fillers.

Mahady appears to be struggling with the pressure of seeing out the business end of the season and Ewing’s form has gone down the toilet. Brogan who’s playing like a man possessed, albeit at Leamington has had his loan extended till the end of the season.

Not being managed very well at all. When you take time to piece together all the little things, you get quite the picture.

It’s speculation certainly but whoever suggested Ewing has a summer move agreed might be on the money

I suggested it last week. Only logical reason why he’s had such a drastic drop in form. I also think the amount of players who are out of contract come the end of the season isn’t helping.

If you add those two possiblities with the loss of TSF and the poor replacements, the central out and out striker we desperately needed and crazily went and signed a young kid from Coventry who looks to be another wide attacker, you can understand why we’re faultering. Smith and Hurst have been woeful. Dausch looks a pointless signing.

Looks like a case of players punching above their weight and exceeding expectations before Christmas

You punch above your weight and capabalities as a team over a short stretch of games e.g ten, not 28. That’s no fluke, we’ve mixed it with the best in this league a number of times and played them off the park.

That young lad doesn’t look like the kind of striker that will be effective playing as a lone striker in the national league. Looks clever and quick, but not a lone front man. From little we’ve seen him he looks to be more of a wide attacking player, similar in ilk to carlton.

We needed a proper CF to play through the middle. Whitehall is too hit and miss. I don’t think he really suits playing up fron ton his own. I’d be tempted to move him on next season and get a more suitable striker in for that role.

I definitely get that vibe about Howe it’s the only thing that makes any sense of the situation.

Butler hinted that it was Howe that forced through the move because he wanted guaranteed playing time and butler couldn’t offer him that so he went.

I can see him moving on if Butler is still here.

I don’t know what Ewing is playing at either.

Ewing was very poor against Carlisle and hasn’t been that great for a while. My guess is he has a moved lined up with his agent and a part of his mind is elsewhere.

Missed your wild speculations. Welcome back.

How can you deem my suggestion as wild specualtion ?. Ewing is soon to be out of contract and won’t sign an extension. Really wild suggestion that Deerey.

According to Butler is was Howe who pushed for the move because he wanted a run of games and Butler couldn’t guarantee him any. I can see him moving on next season.

Ewing needs leaving out for the time being. Boyce needs to come back in at CB and Horton can go back to LB. Also in desperate need of a proper out and out striker. Whitehall is too inconsistent. Cursons for Boston looked the striker we’ve been craving. They got him from Harrogate FFS.

They got Cursons and we got a 19yr old wide attacker from Coventry.

York thought that would hurt us taking Watson, but ended up making us stronger. They can have Chadwick back too if they want as he’s poorer than what we’ve got.

I would like Fadera back on loan even if he was a bit raw, but going by York’s stance I think that’s a no, no. Not involved there and he’s out of contract end of this season.

Would you take him as an option off the bench ?

You’ll be crucifying him within weeks if he doesn’t live up to your high expectations.

Shown already that he’s way ahead of Watson. No doubt he may make the odd mistake, but he won’t be as error prone as Mr Watson I’m sure.

I’m worried that Butler has only signed him for a month due to him waiting for Campbell to be fit. Butler worryingly stated that Campbell will be back in a month’s time.

If Butler only signs Mahady as a replacement for a keeper that clearly isn’t ready, I won’t be too happy. That’s my big worry. Fingers crossed he either signs him until Jan and signs a perm keeper longer term or signs Mahady on a season long loan I’ll be happy.

No way Butler hangs his hat on Campbell. I bloody hope not anyway.
