Barrows isn’t up to it. NLN is more for him. New signing from Boston as mentioned above was awarded player of the season for Boston. They seem to really rate him.

Where has the Ogle rumours come from ?. Why would we sign another RB with Starbuck, Barrows and Rose already here ?

Yes, only came back towards end of the season. Bit of an odd rumour. Only way it makes sense is if Butler plays Rose at CB.

Is it one of PDs rumours? If so, I’m sure ‘Memorable Kangaroo’ will have something to say, giving PD more fuel to try publicly smoking him / her out.

Maison Campbell posted a pic of them both on holiday with the suggestion that he was returning.

The Jordan Richards signing seems good business .. Ewing replacement ??

Not sure why Barrows gets another season unless its to move into the AB staff side later as IMO he isnt up to NL level.

Like to a see a big strapping quality central defender come in to pair up with Evan or JB

How many RBs do we need Rose n Starbuck , Barrows backup .. so this Ogle rumour is a tad strange add to that hes been out injured most of the time.

Must be another signing incoming as PD has proclaimed thus so on the FFB page

    IMO
just looking at whats in the building already and what signings still needed budget allowing not inc loans later.

Keepers Jones .. + new signing as Campbell needs to be out on loan again
    LB Denton n Horton ..ok
    RB Rose Starbuck Barrows ok
    CD Evans JB + new signing(s) + 1 possibly 2 cover injuries
MID Rowley Beestin Richards + 1 cover injuries to Beestin
    Wingers Jones n Brennon ok
ST Whall n Howe + 1 cover for injuries then loan TSF or Farrel later hopefully

So at least 4 or 5 more signings needed …am i dreaming ?????

Be nice to have a bit of height in the middle for a change.

My Ex mother in law had a bit of height and weight to her in fact was built like a water buffalo and packed a mean right hook on the rare occasion she could catch me .. alas she is 78 now but was on par with Beck in her footballing days… so not worth AB calling.
Never forgive her for murdering n eating my pet pot bellied pig Perry ..begining of the end that was.

Yep Okay doesn’t cut it in my book. Means not good enough.

As it stands we have an okay line up. Unfortunately the bucket of pickings is slim

i very much doubt that we could land a player the calibre of Roberts any time soon .. if i recall correct wasnt he a Hilton era signing ?? if so then that is one thing positive to come out of Mr Hiltons brief stay.
Slim pickings , bottom ov the barrel , Sunday morning left overs are possibly what we are looking at if Brennon and Richards are the marque signings.

Richards was also previously at Gainsborough Trinity before his move to Boston United. He was decent but quite lightweight, but good on the ball, and won’t score many.

Will fit in perfect here then, we have plenty who don’t contribute goals, scores one a season on average hope I’m there when he scores it.
Boston player of the season so must be something there, don’t class his 2 signings bottom of the barrel by any means, it’s where we’ll be looking at for players.
    So far so good imo.

Wanted it to happen but didn’t think it would…welcome back Callum!

Have we ever had two brothers in the same side before?

Just need a couple of signings that don’t pass sideways and know where the goal is.

Wasn’t this area that needed improvement?

When Callum was here originally him and Luke Waterfall were in the reserves and developing as a CB pairing.
They were doing well and then all the money put into it wasted when they both got released.

Another less than intelligent decision of which we made many and wasted so much money. Callum and Will will make a good pairing.

Disagree there Sanfran, we were in League 1 when they were both released. No way they were good enough for the first team and unsurprisingly found their level in the National League. Howe has played 3 games in the EFL (in League 2) since he left originally which suggests we made the right decision back then.

Great signing for this level though and fully expect him to be named captain!

The wing wizard, Sir Kyle Hurst will be next one coming in. Butler said in that humberside interview he wanted to sign him and was due a medical.

Also mentioned there would be 2/3 on trial. Still need another natural CB and a striker through the door.

Barrows, Jb, Rose and Starbuck ?. Rose if proves his fitness you would have thought 1st choice RB with Starbuck as direct no 2. Jb will be 3rd choice CB/RB cover.

Is there any need for Barrows ?

Ogle rumour is baffling to say the least. 5 RB’s ?

Need more than one other striker if we’re entering the NL cup, don’t want to run the team ragged.

I hope I’m proved wrong but apart from Hurst, and what we pick up cheap from trials, I think our signings are done. I hope we play 442 this season ( at the very least at the AAGP. With Declan Howe and DW up top. That is the only way I can see us covering Robert’s Goal Tally. Barrows will become more of a player/staff person. Do we need a Kit Man? He will play, but only if we have poor form or injuries. He will also be first on the list of Benchwarmers, along with those we pick up in the Car Boot Sail ( Triallists) and our usual crop of poor initial loanees.

According to the FB group, we are nailed on for promotion and Butler is a tactical and managerial genius. What am I missing? Is it positivity or just that close season period before reality bites? I also notice that as the weeks go by, the fans’ appraisal of Ewing has been revised to worst player to don an Iron shirt. Or something like that.

I would say that this week has been a solid week of transfers. We’re still a little off where we need to be in terms of depth, but this has been a positive week, and much needed after the previous week.

The joke about signing Kyle Hurst isn’t funny – stop it please. He’s not at the level we need, by some distance
