And he’s learned 5 at the back is not the only way to play football when your squad isn’t suited to it.

    Unlike Amorin.

Beware the coach that thinks there’s only one way to play. See Rangers for further evidence.

I’d swap him for Eze right now if we could send the lad back to Bolton.

Had a promising 45 minutes against the mighty App-Frod but shown the square root of jack since then. Not seeming to buy into the group work ethic.

On evidence so far I would say the same about Dawson but given his injury history I guess he has a bit longer to show a bit of promise.

We do really need midfield back up. Beestin, Rowley and Ewing with Roberts as a 10 will give any midfield in this league a challenge. Scales is a worthy back up. Not as skillful as the other 4 but makes up for it with energy.

Those 4/5 are not going to play another 50 games without rest, injury or suspension and we could see the difference at Sutton and again Monday once one or more of them are missing. Chadwick has energy but not much skill (as a midfielder) and Brogan has a bit of skill but not the energy. Eze and Dawson up to this point have shown neither energy or skill.

Not being negative here Andy but I am being realistic based on evidence so far.

We look a top 4 side with Roberts, Rowley, Beestin and Ewing.

We look a bit more like bottom 4 with Eze, Brogan, Chadwick and Dawson.

Pitch was much better Monday. Still lifting here and there but in much smaller areas.

Looks like the tining is working and should be just about sorted by Wealdstone.

Shame Alfie had to go off. Was running the show with Ewing – or Erwin as he is known in Sutton.

It does shake uncontrollably with fear when there’s a cross into our box though.

Oh hang on I think it’s me that’s shaking.

My understanding from Thursday was that Michelle was making a point.

She said she could pocket the share sale cash, not that she would.

Nothing to stop her making the £25k a directors loan to the club mind.

It will be a toss up between Sutton and Halifax who puts the most crosses and throws just under our crossbar.

Maison will be needing his hard hat this weekend.

Plenty of digs at one another here on Bru never mind the almost obsessive interest in what folks on other platforms have to say.

I agree though Sidy – 2 years should be long enough to put to bed the bitterness that erupted during the fraudsters reign.

Credit to Butler. After 5 or 6 seasons of rolling over for physical teams like Tamworth and Woking we respond to the challenge and earn the right to play our football.

Visually appears a massive improvement on last year but it did cut up rather dramatically right wing attacking away end.

Also had a problem with a loose drain or sprinkler cover just off the pitch which took our esteemed chairwoman and half a dozen others a while to resolve at half time. Fairly entertaining.

900 and something – can’t remember the exact number.

Decent attendance for this most mickey mouse of cups.

Some decent football as well. From us for 40 minutes and then from Sunderland.

On that showing hope we don’t need to call on Chadwick, Dawson or Eze in midfield too often.

Apart from Campbell, Saturdays starters lasted 17 minutes.

The rule is a bit of a farce then.

Butler was not very clear in his interview post Tamworth but seemed to suggest we have to start with at least 4 that started at the weekend.

For anyone who wasn’t at the the game he flapped at a couple 1st half but went on to play OK.

I am delighted about that and hope he succeeds but he was a long way short of being the man of the match.

As for delivering the best goalkeeping performance in the league I’m not sure he had the best goalkeeping performance in the Tamworth game.

Quite an achievement for a club struggling to get 2,000 morons through the turnstiles for a league 2 game in the last knocking of the Swann dynasty.

Just got back and have to say well done Andy Butler.

I was convinced he would go 5 at the back and try to nil his way to a point.

Brave set up to match them and it paid dividend. Fitter, stronger and harder working than the lambs.

Well deserved 3 points and a better away performance than we managed in about 20 of last seasons away games.

It could be a Butler masterstroke giving Roberts the vice captaincy.

Unless Frenchy Jean is a dog then Boycie is not going to start too often once Butler ditches the 5 at the back – hopefully a lot earlier than last season.

It’s not uncommon for the most talented footballer of a group to get frustrated with “lesser mortals”. Club vice captaincy which may well morph into team captaincy will surely encourage CR10 to be a bit more supportive of his team mates.

He is confident, positive in his play and he turns up every week. If he can inspire more of these things in the rest of the squad everyone wins.

If he picked your side and formation Rene your scoreline would be a possibility.

5 at the back and “nullifying their strengths” makes 1-0 to the Lambs rather more likely.
