They can get a card same as usual. Has to be a new one – can’t have the existing one updated like last season.
That’s because of change of National League sponsor – nothing to do with fanbase.

Suspect the 3 still involved yesterday had a gentleman’s agreement to do a complete full time preseason.
I am sure they will have known for 2 or 3 weeks they weren’t getting a contract here. They may even have deals with part time sides already but the preseason work will help them get off to a good start wherever they end up.
Meanwhile it has allowed Butler to have 11 a side practice sessions.

There was talk he could cover CB when he was here on loan.
Probably played there at youth level but looks like he would need to fill out a bit to cope there in the National League. Not afraid to get stuck in though so possibly for an emergency game or two.
Horton looks more physically suited to back up CB role.
Still love to see an experienced but mobile holding midfielder with just a touch of spite to help us through the tough away games.

Difficult to purchase a significant amount of shares if you only charge £10 for a lifetime membership.
Hence the recent scheme to raise £100,000 and to earn at least a seat at the boardroom table if not the ability to influence decisions.
If the club agreed the scheme I would have handed the trust £1,000 towards it’s target. My motive is to help protect the club against toxic owners and hair brained ownership changes.
No point in me buying £1,000 worth on my own as that achieves nothing in terms of supporter oversight on the custodians of the club.
If there are enough supporters thinking similarly then the trust could easily meet the £100,000 target and probably beat it.
Some or all of the current owners obviously do not want oversight from representatives of the supporters. Makes me wonder why and concerns me for the future.

Of all of the problems the Iron have experienced on and off the field in recent years getting a home match ticket has always been easy and successful.
Buying tickets for away games in the National League has been a right pain up until and including the Tamworth tickets I waited 40 minutes in a virtual queue to buy.
I have had to register with at least 6 micky mouse ticketing outfits that I have no interest in being a member of and usually costing me an extra quid or two per ticket for the privilege.
That is better understanding and connecting with your fans apparently. Absolute marketing bollox which seems to be the only language our CEO speaks.

Assuming the back four Bill and I suggested the only defenders we could have on the bench would be Horton and Boyce.
I think we only would have one out and out midfielder on the bench (either Scales or Rowley if the other starts). Assume the other goalkeeper gets a spot then 3 vacancies for forwards.
Any 3 from Beck, Carlton, Chadwick, Dawson and either Eze or Howe assuming the other of those 2 start.
The squad is unbalanced for me with only 2 weeks to go until we kick off for real.
Defensive midfielder and a full back that can pull a shift at centre back are the minimum needed.

I have cancelled my £10 monthly draw payment which was effectively a charity donation as I gave back the one prize I won and would have done the same with any further prizes.
If the club only wants my money if it’s charity but not as a Trust member shareholder then they can do one. They have my season ticket money but they will get nothing else from me.

Totally agree with Rene’s original post.
However this is a football forum so opinions on footballers ability to play football at the general level of the team and the league we are in is surely one of the main reasons the forum exists.
Or is it just to bitch about one another and people that post stuff on Facebook and Twitter?
So long as it does not sink to the level of abuse I don’t see a problem. Personally hope one and preferably both of our current goalkeepers prove me wrong in thinking one is not ready and the other never will be ready for full time mens football.
The goalkeeper situation is not the end of the world because if neither do the business it is fairly easy to sign a competent young keeper on loan should it prove necessary.
I am much more concerned at not recruiting players suited to 5 at the back and then starting the last 2 friendlies with that formation.
