I think we are at the stage where 3 home wins would probably be the best outcome for us.

Let Rochdale and York fight it out for automatic promotion whilst we close in on third place. Home semi final with a Wembley date for the winner would be great.

Don’t give up too soon. Home win for us (essential) and two draws would be OK.

I’m with MK…even if we do the double over Rochdale we’ll still be 5 points behind them, and they show no signs of dropping many points any time soon.

Finishing 3rd would be an incredible achievement.

Big game to stay comfy in the playoffs. Don’t see Dale losing top spot now, particularly as they seem to have sorted their pitch out, unless they have a dramatic dip. Still, you never know…

Afternoon Irons, I’m hoping for a draw on Saturday, but Glanfield Park has never been a very happy hunting ground for us, so it depends which Southend turn up. With Boreham imploding at the moment, and FGR getting jittery 3rd and 4th places are up for grabs for those who can be consistent. What’s the state of your pitch with all this rain, and chance of a postponement?

Pitch is terrible, nothing to do with the weather. Bring a bucket & spade to fully appreciate the pitch.

Have to aim for 3rd as most have said for the home semi final against Forest Green, Boreham Wood, not sure.
Gives you a headache planning ahead !
But we sure can beat the top seven sides at home, though mot sure about Rochdale so as others say, let Rochdale win the league.

It’s Iron by the way rootshallbloke – Iron’s are that dodgy bunch from the London Stadium just up the road from you.
As your not from a lower division you might struggle for a result Saturday.

Iron it is then! At least you had the opportunity to see off Horsham at your place, we have to travel to them and their poxy 3G pitch. May the best SUFC win on Saturday.

Unlike Dave .. im not feeling overly positive guys sorry

    1-2 loss
    Att 5656

like the same im not confident about Carlisle away ..time will tell but im basing that on mainly due to the loss to HFC and its possible effect confidence wise.

Any play off place be happy with ..we aint going up Auto for sure and the PO games are a lottery… ask York !!

As you say, play-offs are a lottery. We sneaked into 7th place last game of last season, and then nuked Rochdale and FGR on the way to the final, both away games.

February is a huge month for us. 7 games and we need as many of those 21 points as possible.

Targeting is simply not good enough.

You’re often not confident ahead of big games tbf. If Southend turn up and go for it, I predict an Iron win. If they sit deep we may well struggle to break them down.

Well spotted DM , indeed im always a tad cautious when we are playing decent ex FL sides … a huge month coming up by which time things will be a whole lot clearer , i cant see us achieving top 3 and finishing 4-7 will be a tough ask IMO.
I read online the FL are discussing the 3 up idea today … we live in hope they see sense.

In the unlikely event of the turkeys voting for Christmas they would not change the rules for this season.
It would not be fair for the additionally relegated club.

The game as got to be in doubt with all the rain.
Don’t be surprised if we end up playing games away from Glanny park due to the concerns of the players with their health and safety, evidently they’ve made strong representations to Butler over the issue.

Was fear of injury the reason for the below par performance last week?

I’m not seeing any mention of pitch inspections on your Club Website or X. Anyone your end in the know about the pitch condition, we’ve got rain of biblical flood levels down here at the moment, and it would be quite good for an early heads up if it’s postponed.
