Hurst rescued from being the worst Iron player on the pitch by Barrows performance?

It would be a tough call, I thought Denton was terrible.

Yeah ,pretty hard all round apart from maybe Evans who got stuck in .Mahardy had to make a few routine saves which suggests he was quite exposed too.Tough day but we won and subs improved it for once

Good ball by Denton to Cam for the goal but in truth the majority of the team were poor first half, second half big improvement IMO.

Apollo11 /7 cassidystash & 64, Hurst is awful, guess he only plays as he has a doncaster connection so AB likes him.
The chance he missed against Forest Green and he did nothing yesterday, how C Smith on the bench over Hurst.
AB needs to play Smith instead of Hurst from now on and the new striker from Coventry looked very fast yesterday and tough

‘Mahardy had to make a few routine saves’

He did make a couple of excellent stops too but I’d hardly call his performance ‘colossal’ as Matt E did. I think it’s called ‘projecting’.

Never felt Mahardy had anything too difficult to deal with, decent saves, a couple of crosses. Interesting having seen the video of their pens not much contact to go down with on either. If it was against you would say a pen, i’m happy to say no pen. Their players didn’t surround the ref with rage, perhaps they knew too. And ref missed a clear shirt pull on Whitehall so evens it up. Truth is they weren’t good enough, ref gave them an excuse

And yet the 2 games Hurst has started and played the majority of we have won. It was Hurst that closed down their keeper and defender for the mess up which led to Roberts goal.

Hurst looks like he is getting use to the quality he is now playing with after Gateshead. Just needs to take a risk and it come off.

Hurst will become the new whipping boy for some, after all Beck is out on loan as is Campbell and AB who some wanted sacked less than a year ago has got us promoted and has us lying third in the National League, someone has to fill the void for the pathetic crew to chip away at, lol.

First time I’ve seen him at GP. Far from impressed and as I said before, probably should have been off at half time due to being totally ineffective, constantly losing possession and turning back. Maybe just not his day? Certainly prepared to give him time. Haven’t written him off as a bad signing. Time will tell.

From the posts I’ve read it would seem it’s a totally different pathetic crew who are chipping away as you put it ironawe.
Weren’t those who were questioning Beck and Campbell right, would seem so to me.
Yes he’s doing very well this season overall the performances are much better, but last season I watched at least 5 games that were amongst the worst football I’ve ever seen from a Scunthorpe team promoting or not.

The double standards being applied to Mahardy mistakes are as evident as the disgraceful bullying of Campbell. As for Beck there was a lot of online noise but I remember him scoring and the majority being genuinely pleased for him personally

In case you hadn’t noticed this is a forum design to discuss all matters Iron and express (differing) opinions. I’ve not been impressed by Hurst so far and think Smith should be in instead of him and have said so on here. Being described as part of a “pathetic crew” is an unnecessary insult. Fans disagree on MOM as well as those considered below par players, it’s up to the players to prove them wrong.

If you’re going to keep bringing up Mahady with comparisons to Campbell, at least get his name right.

There’s a reason Mahady has been signed for the rest of the season and Campbell sent out on loan to a club THREE divisions below us.

I to remember him scoring his one and only league goal for us, of course fans and players were pleased for him, if only we’d known it would be his only goal a pitch invasion wouldn’t have gone a miss.
I and many more genuinely wanted him to do well, but sadly he just couldn’t, shame you can’t be as magnanimous when it comes to fanny Danny as you call him.
As for Campbell though dodgy to say the least, but I was happy enough with him while he wasn’t costing us points never lost a league game with him in goal.
