2 full backs who can defend but can join in going forward
2 centre half’s who know their job but can pass out from the back and are a threat at corners & set pieces2 wide men who can get beyond their markers, whip in a good ball or nip inside and unleash a shot themselves… also fit enough to help their full backs out.
2 centre mids – one a box to box, the other more of a sitter who can spray the ball about.
2 forwards who have a proven goal scoring history. Willing to press high & early but also prepared to do doggies tracking back and closing down / angles
And a keeper who can command his area, stop shots, catch crosses and initiate a quick counter.

To say that Stan was a head it and kick it defender – he must be fuming!8 v 4 in the box… and we concede to an unmarked / picked up runner at the back

Paddy clearly thinks we will be lucky to score one goal… and can’t see us adding to it.

Same old, same old… how many times were we done at the back post last season!
Have we learned nothing!Slow & pedestrian and high tempo & quick referenced within the same breath (it was within 10 seconds of each other). Oxymoronical statement?
Fight, scrap, bodies on the line – isn’t that a given? We need more than that… clever, inventive, unpredictable, unplayable – surely that’s the words we want to hear?
Pub players turn up and (literally) fight, scrap and try to put their beer bellied bodies on the line :-)
Brennan, 3 year contact. Strange one. Would he not sign a 2 year deal?
From last season – plenty to work on, we’ll work hard next week, something to develop, learning curve, lesson learned blah, blah, blah
