This is worth a read. Looks like there is now a move to separate the memorial fundraiser from the Trust’s core objectives and, perhaps, by implication, that there has been some mission creep recently.

As I said in another thread, they are clearly well aware that they slop-dropped a steaming wet one with the KK stuff, and so are now fashioning their future movement to cover their arses.
At least they are trying to put right what they got so very wrong. It doesn’t alter the fact that someone on the Trust’s judgement is appalling.
August 10, 2026 at 8:53 pm #324441what a load of nonsense. This is a trust project to try and now claim otherwise is lying. The claim to fund raising being separated is flawed .as the money raised from the Garcia shirt was what they were relying on for the £500 donation .
I asked them to cancel my membership yesterday and remove me from the mailing list, I still received this self serving hindsight written backsliding .Memorial gardens take a lot of upkeep and will require lots of money and time. I guess instead of laying a wreath at “Keegan’s feet we can now do it at Keegan’s rhododendron.August 10, 2026 at 8:53 pm #324442It also means that if there is going to be a memorial of any kind, at least control will be wrestled away from the Trust and handed to people with calm heads and reasonable taste.
We might not end up with

LOVE IT, LOVE ITAlthough, of course, we also might. But this shift does represent an opportunity.

notice it’s not whether the Trust should take action but what actions they should take.August 10, 2026 at 9:07 pm #324448Nowt like passing the buck.
