Awful goal conceded.
Lovely goal to make our comeback. An excellent question!
A better side against us, SI – and we’d have lost it.
I watched him carefully in one home match last season. He lost possession 9 times in the first half.

People are working off rumour and assumptions.
I refuse to comment as I have no idea what happened and what was actually said.1 user thanked author for this post.
Nicholson played about four super games for us at the start of his deal – and I can’t recall another decent game after that glorious start.
We are not setting up to win promotion. I want to be proved wrong about this but, at the moment, I feel it highly improbable that we’ll get past the first game.
February was unmitigatedly awful! Yesterday was very reminiscent of that sad period.
Player confidence must be at car crash levels.
Come on lads! Let’s progress. Fans know how good you really can be!1 user thanked author for this post.
I’m going to have to stop listening to his interviews.

Overtones of attitudes in important cup games.
We are still in 5th but NOW FGR are breathing down our necks. We have opened the way for them. Made it easier.
Even Southend will be getting optimistic again.
It looked a seriously dodgy decision – almost failing to show Gateshead sufficient respect. They had a lot to play for.
Shouldn’t we have thought the same?
A number of players added to the side looked extremely ordinary.
Okay the penalty and sending off were the end of us BUT there could easily have been two more pens conceded.
It may sound ironic but I thought Barrows looked as good as I’ve seen him this season.1 user thanked author for this post.
Tactics and selection – execrable!

30 years or so ago, Shep gave me many lifts to distant venues. I got to know him quite well and liked him. We were mates for years and then we went 20 years without seeing each other.
Bumped into a guy in Boots near ground about ten months ago. Not easy to recognise.
He was physically worn and told me his bad news.
Hoped to see him at least one more time – but no.
RIP Shep.
Blessings on his family at this awful time.2 users thanked author for this post.
Phew. Escaped with a point. Terrific.
Games like that – how many have we lost over the years?
They hit our bar at the death.
I’ll settle!It’s not exactly Wordsworth.
How great to see hoof-it-long disappearing from our game.

March 27, 2026 at 8:03 pm in reply to: Howe Can We Not Integrate A Proven Goalscorer In To Our Team? #318433It may well be the prospect of playoffs which has brought him back.
Congratulations Iron. That was a performance to warm the cockles of the heart. We played REAL football – intelligently. More of the same, please!
I do think that Rochdale’s side, overall, contained more quality than ours which makes our efforts last night look even better.
No real blame attaches to LJ, IMHO – but the hesitation in defence with their first goal did prove costly.1 user thanked author for this post.
BLT, I thought that Denton would cruise into this division – a top NLN FB.
He is, however, making many more mistakes this season.1 user thanked author for this post.
Not a bad idea but we should be aiming for a notch better.

If we are in the playoffs we need to surprise and shock opponents. This can be achieved by an old concept – that of ‘playing football’.
Of course, it might mean having to abandon 90%+ of the wild punts upfield – but think of what the shock effects on opponents might be!3 users thanked author for this post.
Undervalued striker at Cod ‘ed Corner?
Phew.
Many parts of the game Truro looked as good as we did.
(Reminder! – They are the bottom team in this division.)
Louis Jones got a lot right.
Ewing, to me, looked almost back to his best.2 users thanked author for this post.
Glad to see us ahead.
If you put a bit of curve on a ball as you lump it aimlessly upfield – does that magically turn it into a good ball?
If we refer to all balls lumped up field from any position on the pitch – would we all be happier if they were to be renamed clearances?1 user thanked author for this post.
Any details on Cal’s injury?
SUFC fixtures. Don’t make sense.
We probably deserved the win but playing park football for ten year olds will lose us many games.
How many times in the match was the ball lumped long upfield and only occasionally to a forward being watched like a hawk by a brace of defenders? 50+?
The passing was even poorer than over the last 6 weeks. That really is an awful thing to be able to say.
Still. Am very grateful for the points. On a different tack, how many of our defenders will earn a contract for next season, I wonder. I suspect that something of an exodus may be on the cards.
Good to see a much improved Hurst.

There must be a reason why Smith ain’t cuttin’ the mustard.
There is a super player in there!1 user thanked author for this post.
We’ll need two new CBs to start most games next season.
I think I’d be happy to have keep the current GK as Number 1.
Saw little of Pat Jones but do like what I did see.1 user thanked author for this post.
About a week ago, I wrote that our passing had deteriorated by around 30% from our recent best.
Wrong again!
Make that 50%.
Defence requires a rebuild!
Anyone know if, even once, we ever strung 6 or more passes together in the first half?1 user thanked author for this post.
