One nil up in first half and Robert’s wasted an attack and someone feels the need to shout shite in the mortz stand
    I was thinking shite fan

Well the person is allowed an opinion as we are allowed to disagree and laugh at theirs, reckon most fans would have been having a chuckle at such a comment and shaking their heads, that’s allowed too.

Well after the first twenty minutes the game as a contest was over, Truro were awful and pulled, pushed niggled and fouled all game, they got what they deserved IMO and those 61 travelling fans should get a medal coming all that way to support garbage. As for the Iron a really professional performance and if Dawson can keep fit then Beck can go, great turn and first goal plus won countless balls in the air resulting in some clever flick ons. A goal and an assist plus a good overall showing was excellent and all in 60 odd minutes. Hope Ewing being sub was just precautionary and as for Whitehalls twenty minute cameo before being subbed, I reckon they were testing him out for Wednesday. Good performance Iron well played all.

Hope the weather doesn’t affect the gate too much, reads like we are in for a wet old afternoon, no injury time abandonment please Mr Groundsman due to flooded pitch, we all remember what happened last time it chucked it down.

Amateur hour. This is what happens when you try to do things on the cheap and sack your ground staff. Only going to get worse as the temperatures drop towards winter.

No, the ground staff were not sacked, I’ve no idea where you picked up that bollox from!
At the end of last season, one retired and the other retired due to I’ll health.
North Lincs council are responsible for the pitch now.

I mean the simple truth is Trump , his government and his right leaning followers are just blatant hypocrites when it comes to “ their “ version of free speech, very sad but also very dangerous. Is it just me fearing for democracy in the USA based on this kind of occurrence?

Iron- awe “I could not imagine you working on the Samaritans hotline.”?
? Please give a reason why.

I already gave a reason is your blinkered brain designed to lock out all responses that don’t match your blinkered high handed approach?

You know bill you may profess to be a Christian but I just couldn’t imagine you working on the Samaritans hotline, your high handed know it all attitude would finish most callers off IMO.

Last minute blues, sounds like our theme tune, ah well a point away is still a good one but it’s a bit frustrating to say the least, still unbeaten though.

bill I haven’t said that so stop twisting things to suit your own biased narrative, nobody knows what the killer of Charlie Kirk thinks politically as they have not been apprehended but do you think Trump spouting unfounded rhetoric and him being the American president is the right thing to do? Hatred has a habit of breeding hatred and whatever your political beliefs this situation is not going to end well when a countries leader speaks in such a political way without evidence of why he’s saying it.

It’s a tragedy this young man was murdered and whatever his politics the use of violence is completely unwarranted and disgusting. How Trump can lash out at the radical left as he calls it is once again the wrong way to go about this. He has no evidence what the political leanings of the killer are until he is caught and processed. Think it’s worth pointing out the man who shot at Trump and was subsequently shot and killed by police immediately after the assassination attempt was discovered to be a card carrying member of the Republican Party, don’t recall Trump or the far right in America at the time making anything political out of that but then again they wouldn’t would they? It’s all very tragic and unnecessary but I don’t think politicising this murder is the correct or sensible thing to do but hey Trump doesn’t do sensible he does divisive rhetoric and plenty of hate speech himself.

Remember him on the summer coaching courses, him and Steve Lister putting my lad and his mates through their paces, trying to instill good football values into them all. Nice guy taken far too young RIP Mark what a waste.

Whilst I’m on the Wealdstone thread has anyone read some of their fans version of yesterday’s events? I don’t do X or whatever their forums on, be interesting to see what they think of their teams refusal to come out the dressing room and finish the game?

Ewing has certainly been our best player so far this season, Roberts not hit the heights yet and should have scored yesterday but we have seen the odd glimpse of genius, the goal against Halifax being an example. Got to say our two centre backs continue to impress, both very good yesterday and before someone mentions the Wealdstone goal, I thought it was a great cross and a brilliant headed finish, sometimes these things happen.

Based on the Wealdstone shenanigans yesterday it was probably shoulder of mutton.

Really enjoyable first half with three good goals and we deservedly leading at the break. Chances to score second half notably Roberts and Howe plus Rory had a good game between the sticks, very commanding display from him. Then the farce begins, according to AB on Humberside their player has dislocated his shoulder and had it popped back in, just a normal sporting injury, why he was down on the ground for so long and it took an age to stretcher him off, who knows? Their refusal to finish the game based on their players being in the ” wrong mental place ” is bull poop. They had used all their subs, they would have been down to ten men had they resumed so they bottled it and sought an easy way out IMO. Give us the win we deserve, call it a completed game and throw the book at Wealdstone, they have behaved appallingly, unsporting and totally unprofessional.

All things being equal we should get the three points and a 3-0 win and Wealdstone should be in a whole lot of trouble over this incident, they must be punished very severely IMO.

Yeah she got it wrong and rightly resigned but she’ll be back some time in the future I reckon. I hope so because she’s despised by the Tories and the right because despite being raised on a council estate and a single mum at seventeen she bucked the trend and worked herself up to be deputy PM and one of the most powerful women in the country, that’s why the establishment hate her but it’s why the majority of ordinary people in this country do need her and more like her in the future.

Also right wing media in the USA is ignoring Trump’s ongoing health issues, he doesn’t look a well man at all and disappeared off radar for three days recently, unheard of by a national leader particularly in the land of the free. His lopsided smile is being linked to a slight stroke and his swollen ankles plus increased bruising on his hands is nowadays a common occurrence but don’t worry folks he’s fine the best he’s ever been, lol.

    Or me!

I scored from the halfway line in a 4-0 win over Hellenic circa 1980.

And who can forget Andy Keogh’s at Carlisle?

Five a side halfway lines don’t count NI, lol.

Does that put him in the same league as Pele and Beckham? Actually I believe Pele missed from 50 yards but Beckham certainly scored back in 1995, always nice to see those go in.

Yes bill chooses his subject matter very carefully whilst ignoring the orange faced threat from across the pond, the fact he’s a world leader is very worrying particularly how he invents problems in Democratic run cities to deflect from his own mishandling of the USA economy . He’s also breaking the law with his misuse of the National Guard being deployed in such a political way.

Didn’t see the incident thank goodness by the sound of things. JB appears to have come out of it reasonably well out of the two of them, hope the other lad is feeling better this morning. Both players will be missing several games under the concussion protocol and it’s down to daily monitoring by the medical team and they will determine the stages of recovery through rest, light exercise/ training and eventually full contact training before a return is considered. No two players respond the same so it’s a waiting game but hopefully both will come through it ok however long it takes.

Anyone that thinks a Grimbarian accent is like my Hullensian one isn’t listening. Years ago I was talking to a copper* in Hull, who wasn’t from here, he said he could tell the difference between a west Hull/east Hull accent.

    * I’ve never been arrested.

I find that hard to believe, I thought it was compulsory that anyone from Hull had to be arrested at least twice in their lifetime.

I do like Yorkshire, our daughter lives in Leeds and I have been asked about my accent being Yorkshireish more Donny than west or north Yorkshire. When I travelled down South Lincolnshire in my old job, I’m talking Sleaford and further South than that, the Lincolnshire accent does become more ” carrot cruncher ” bit like North Norfolk. I’m very proud to be from Lincolnshire and I guess the accent thing is always a topic of conversation, I would say Lincoln area is probably the more accurate version of a Lincolnshire accent, always thought the Cods sounded a bit Hully Gully particularly the word work which a lot of Cods pronounce werk.
