I reckon Epsteins attention to photographic archiving his “ friends “ proved to be a fatal mistake, nowhere to hide in prison from powerful men on the outside with contacts on the inside. Just thought I’d chuck that in for a change of tack from this back and forth stuff which appears to be going nowhere.

    Green Gorton!

    Or was that Goblin?

“We’ll meet again Spiderman “, rides off on flying green chariot cackling manically.

Well Barrows and Rose are still injured and we have no choice but to play Boyce, it’s not ideal with Boycey being outpaced nearly every game, any opposing striker with pace and we look very exposed ATM.

He scored a cracker against Barnsley in a night game at the OSG, Peter Springett ( Rons younger brother) was in goal for Barnsley and he never saw it because Stuart hit it with such power, cracking left peg and a real Iron servant in his nine years with the club.

alcy turned up on tother side on the Mandelson thread but it was purely to give 64 a kicking about something or other about Starmer from years ago . Still retains plenty of acid though and like Awaywego says I too believe he had kicked the bucket.

‘George Miller scored again on Saturday’. I remember he did well at Bury before failing miserably with us

When it came to playing football George Miller reminded me of his uncle Max, pure music hall.

No matter how good stones looked last night still behind Danny this season.
Stones 13 goals in 31 games. scored in 11 games.

Danny 11 goals in 27 games. Scored in 11 games. Robbed of another goal he actually scored in the wealdstone game.
I loved watching Chris Dagnall 110% every game no shithousery but just couldn’t score often enough, give me a goalscorer every time no matter how they get them.

Some fair points there, however I didn’t see York tripping over themselves to try and sign DW compared to Stones, being chased by a couple of of Championship clubs apparently whereas DW is about at his level now IMO.

No comparison IMO Stones is the forward Whitehall will never be, DW is what he is and as for Stones he wouldn’t give us a second look, he will be on a right wedge of money but you can see why.

Ultimately it is about money but it needs a balanced approach, previous money bags owner went gung ho, we were out bidding teams for players like Bradford City with 15000 season ticket holders by offering more money, just ridiculous. Can’t see us progressing back into the EFL without some serious balanced investment which comes with at least a 5 year plan to improve the first team and structure some kind of youth team , at the moment we are where we are because of our financial situation, the begging bowl approach to funding a new pitch should tell us all that.

Reality check, we lost to an excellent National League side who already look more than good enough to give league 2 a real shake up. What I would give for a player like Stones up front for us, strong, quick, powerful and a constant threat and what a work ethic that boy has. As much as I have enjoyed watching Boycey over the last few seasons surely this must be his last season in an Iron shirt, we simply need quicker players both in pace and thought in our back four next season and tonight was a lesson in how money influences sport, you get what you pay for and we need bigger investment if we are to approach anything like York City showed tonight, we were much better than against Boston but against the best it simply wasn’t good enough, I’m not slagging of the whole performance because we battled but they were just too good for us simple as that.

Well they haven’t lost a league game since we beat them at their place 22 games ago which is a phenomenal record, it’s time they lost again, come on Iron ✊

Rene is Dec’s dad, otherwise it is a bit of an unhealthy obsession.

Deffo his love child, those Butlins rock and roll weekends have a lot to answer for 😂😂😂

Blankets, Now that is nostalgic NI, as rough and ready we were back in the day twas treated with respect.
Imagine letting people throwing coins with permission in this era.

Seen a few young lads at the wall in the DRE get their heads cut open by thrown coins from the back of the stand back in the old charity blanket collecting days, not a very intelligent or safe way to collect money thank goodness it’s gone.

Perhaps the lower mid table team predicted by many before the season started has finally decided to turn up?

The state of the pitch meant the game was more lottery than football match which would probably have favoured the Cods , if the pitch had been in immaculate condition I suspect Wolves would have won the game comfortably by several goals but it was fun watching everyone sliding about and getting blathered up, not a football match in reality more a football mud wrestling match, really funny watching everyone sliding about at times.

Considering the majority were speculating pre season that top 10 or lower mid table would be a decent finish based on budget size and just getting promoted any talk about Bultlers position is simply ridiculous IMO , mind you it won’t stop some from banging on about it as per usual.

One of those games, defensively awful for at least four of their goals and scrappy play on a poor pitch doesn’t help. AB needs to sort this out and get us organised for Tuesday night at Rochdale or else it will be another difficult watch and three defeats on the bounce but we have to put this one to bed quickly and move on, a very poor afternoon indeed.
