I’ve just ‘tuned in’.
3-0 down at half time.
What the hell is happening?
Wheels coming off?
Players not ‘happy’ with their mates being farmed out on loan.
Something not right here?1 user thanked author for this post.
February 21, 2026 at 3:52 pm #316526Perhaps the lower mid table team predicted by many before the season started has finally decided to turn up?

We are rubbish against lower teamsFebruary 21, 2026 at 4:00 pm #316529and Dec Howe scores again, whichever club he play for
February 21, 2026 at 4:07 pm #316531second half subs – Denton for Horton, like for like
Carlton for Ewing, Cart horse for a class player..thanks ABFebruary 21, 2026 at 4:43 pm #316533and Dec Howe scores again, whichever club he play for
Wears 9, plays as a 9, scores in the 8th minute!
Pity it wasn’t the 9th minute!999 – (Stan) I’m wrong… can we have Dec back please?

February 21, 2026 at 4:47 pm #316534Not watching the game but if Butler plays two wide men who is it? Ewing? You’ve got Smith Hurst Dausch and Carlton on bench. Butler appears to be losing his form as much as Ewing has.

February 21, 2026 at 5:31 pm #316542Apologies. I didn’t notice the other thread when I opened this one
However…
If things continue as they are, how long before we drop out of the top 7?
The form table for the last six games:

500 quid says we dont make the playoffs .. odds are shit but heyho IMO its a fair bet the way its going pear shaped !!… AB sending players out no incomings and what appears to be dis harmony in the ranks unless of course your POZ Dave in which case an earthquake destroying the AAGP would be classed as renovating infrastructure.

February 21, 2026 at 6:23 pm #316550Forest Green and Boreham Wood are both worse than us. Halifax, who are chasing, are no better.
We will make the playoffs.

February 21, 2026 at 6:37 pm #316553The club should put £500 on us not to make the playoffs, that would pay for the pitch.(legalities aside!)

February 21, 2026 at 7:32 pm #316556If we carry on losing and teams below win, we will drop out the play-offs that we are not good enough to win on current form.
When is Connor Smith going on loan ??1 user thanked author for this post.
February 21, 2026 at 7:34 pm #316557Merci Rene for that form table, us playing York next, does AB get the boos if we get hammered by York ?
February 21, 2026 at 7:51 pm #316558Absolute shit show today. We just cannot defend at the moment, not helped by Mahady handing them the first goal (again). Powder puff in midfield, Ewing couldn’t get near anyone (what’s happened to him since the turn of the year!?).
1 win and 15 goals conceded in the last 6 games (with the 1 win being a total smash and grab against Southend). New signings have so far contributed the combined sum of zero. The wheels have well and truly come off, something ain’t right in camp Scunny.

February 21, 2026 at 8:15 pm #316560It’s speculation certainly but whoever suggested Ewing has a summer move agreed might be on the money. I can’t see any other reason for a quality player early season becoming a poor NLN substitute within weeks. He won’t be catching anybody’s eye on current form. Shame, he looked a real gem.

I suggested it last week. Only logical reason why he’s had such a drastic drop in form. I also think the amount of players who are out of contract come the end of the season isn’t helping.
If you add those two possiblities with the loss of TSF and the poor replacements, the central out and out striker we desperately needed and crazily went and signed a young kid from Coventry who looks to be another wide attacker, you can understand why we’re faultering. Smith and Hurst have been woeful. Dausch looks a pointless signing.

February 21, 2026 at 10:40 pm #316569How much have contract extensions got to do with this disastrous run in form???I think it’s playing a part!
Numerous players saying they want to stay yet nothing from the club.
Reminds me of the league 1 promotion campaign that fell apart when key players were told deliver promotion and well discuss contracts but until then nothing… and we all know what happened there!!
A disaster!!!
Maybe some errors are being made again.5 users thanked author for this post.
February 22, 2026 at 3:26 am #316572Roberts said he would stay last week and almost pleaded the club to offer him something and yet nothing. There will naturally be players there who are worrying where they may end up.
Raft of poor signings is a huge blow. Crying out for an out and out striker to put pressure on Whitehall who’s been crap for quite a while and yet sign Dausch who is about a million miles away from the striker we actually needed.
Smith’s biggest contribution was missing a sitter vs Carlisle and Hurst has been terrible. Tells you everything you need to know when Butler is playing Beestin on the wing.
From Butler’s interview regarding Howe is came across as if he forced a move because he was pissed off with not getting game time and most likely wasn’t happy with playing out wide.
Howe got pushed down the pecking order by players of much less ability than himself. We cleared the decks of crap when we moved on chadwick and eze and all Butler has done has restocked the squad with dud squad fillers.
Mahady appears to be struggling with the pressure of seeing out the business end of the season and Ewing’s form has gone down the toilet. Brogan who’s playing like a man possessed, albeit at Leamington has had his loan extended till the end of the season.
Not being managed very well at all. When you take time to piece together all the little things, you get quite the picture.

February 22, 2026 at 7:34 am #3165753 Scuny boys no longer here – Dawson, Dec, Tyler (club not at fault) not helping.
Smith i will defend, he chose to sign. He scored at Carlisle and it should have been given. I’d put him for Ewing and give him a run to get sharp.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 22, 2026 at 8:53 am #316577You have to wonder whether there is much more to the Howe story than has been let on – and whether general morale / motivation has dipped due to that.

February 22, 2026 at 10:25 am #316578How many times does the mid season transfers upset the dynamics of teams for whatever reason.
February 22, 2026 at 11:36 am #316580“Only logical reason why he’s had such a drastic” or he’s lost form, been found out a bit and needs to tweak his game ,Butler has changed his role a bit etc etc.The only logical reason my arse. You really do talk rubbish Wondergoal

I’ve learnt from the best. All the crap being peddaled on the old forum and this version, I’ve had quite the grounding.

February 22, 2026 at 4:33 pm #316607Hugely disappointing afternoon for an excellent 384 turnout down in Hampshire.
First and foremost, we lack energy. So often in games prior to Xmas we could win a ball back high up the pitch and put pressure on sides through sheer tenacity. That has gone missing all 3 midfielders look jaded- especially Ewing.
It was hinted by Evans’ pre match interview that the back line are carrying injuries and it shows, Evans in particular the last couple of weeks can barely move around the pitch which was exploited in full by the Aldershot attack.
Roberts is pretty much carrying the torch on his own at the minute, if he isn’t on song then the rest of the side look toothless. Whatever has happened between Howe and Butler needs patching up and Dec back in the squad. I don’t think he’s the answer to our problems but I’ve seen nothing from Incoming signings to suggest they’re any better. Additionally, I’d be tempted to get Brogan back and freshen things up in midfield with Beestin.
Seen a lot of hysteria online the last week; at a push I’d look at getting some defensive cover in until JB is fit, however, the answer in a bad run of form can’t always be to demand signings. We don’t have the budget and mid season signings working out are usually the exemption and not the rule.
I don’t think going 5-3-2 on Tuesday will do us any harm, more often than not this year we’ve looked good when playing the better sides with the formation and Christ knows we need the bodies back there. I’d also be tempted to give Ewing a rest and start with Beestin in the middle, certainly won’t do him any harm.
Even if we take abit of a battering again on Tuesday I hope the supporters stick with butler and the team. For me they’ve all earned enough credit in the bank this year to keep supporters on side after a bad run of 4 games.
