Alcy has been as good as gold

Wonder if he’s a Dire Straits fan?

Probably time to have an extra forum just for Rene?

If Rene is the sole contributor and reader I believe this idea has legs.

He subbed in pretty good time last night Phil which I guess was saving legs for Monday, if he starts the same eleven against Carlisle I wouldn’t complain but maybe Jones needs a rest out wide for Hurst who delivers a better ball into the box IMO. One thing was clear last night Butterfield still makes us tick, based on last night he’s a good signing.

When does Whitehall play in a 2 with others to feed off.

Fair point but the two last night ran their nuts off, chased every ball and physically gave the opposition centre backs a really hard time, not usually Whitehalls bag TBF.

It’s a long hard climb back to where we used to be alcy and where we all aspire to go and we will have periods on the finance we have when things won’t always change much, such is life but we are heading in the right direction IMO.

I once tried selling bottled farts on Scunthorpe market, it just ended up as a bad smell.

That centre forward he brought in who is not a centre forward does look very promising as a centre forward though.

I presume you mean Gale not Parker who also played very well, well Gale based on last night looks every inch a centre forward, won headers, held it up well, backed into his man with strength giving their centre backs problems all evening and just played the role really well IMO. Lots to work on but the work rate from the front two was very impressive, not meaning to diss Whitehall but he doesn’t play that way nearly enough and as a forward he should do but he’s nowhere near as physical as Gale based on that game last night.

Jones needs to improve his delivery, I thought he did ok but Hurst is a better crosser of the ball IMO.

Agreed but like Iron Insider and buy a square some will go for it. It’s all about the money as per usual, their choice.

Gale and Parker did really well as a pair up top and Gale has the makings of a proper centre forward, only actually goes down when fouled and looked really strong. Butterfield still a class act in midfield, two great feet and reads the game so well, nice to see him start and put a good shift in. Decent game with both teams giving it a go, subs came on and made a difference with Alfie scoring a clever goal. The anti Butler brigade will have to keep on waiting he actually got most things right tonight.

What did he get wrong? Just asking? I neither saw or heard the game due to other commitments.

Reading some of the pre match predictions and reaction to the starting eleven when announced you’d have thought his decision making was absolutely shocking. As it turned out the team he picked, the formations he used during the game worked very well but I’m sure some will say he got lucky and we were terrible, neither are true IMO but some will say because that’s the nature of the football fan.

Alcy and IFA certainly not listening to her opinion on football managers.

Im sure both Alcy and my opinions on Bulter will be justified in the coming weeks ..

..and if you are both proven right it will only have taken you two seasons to get your own way, such foresight lol.

Same as last season, Horton started in his natural position of left back then swapped to centre back for virtually the rest of the season when Evan’s and Boycey had spells out injured, nothing really new there.

Being too quick has often been a problem.

Should have pinched it at the base while taking deep breaths for ten seconds cass, should have bought you a couple of extra minutes at least I reckon 😂

Surely a team creating lots of chances must be more vulnerable at the back as a result, maybe Jones’s and his pace could exploit that?

‘Giving gentle praise where it’s due and constructively point out inadequacies might work better such that opinions aren’t written off by others’

    Indeed Candice Marie.

Bet Keith agreed and even rubbed his Nuts in May approvingly as a result.

In 06/07 we were playing decent stuff that’s the difference.

I want league football foremost, but I’ll take regional football over this shite Dazn league.
So many games just off the transpennine line in Nln.
Costing me and mi kids a bloody fortune £130 for rail and admission for Southend alone.
£70 quid for the grandkid to get to Eastleigh.
£80+ to Hornchurch and there’s no train back from Donny.

That’s the thing about promotion and relegation. You never know who you’re going to get.

A bit like Forrest Gumps box of chocolates

Going to see Ilkeston, which has little meaning to what he did at Scunny would have done nothing to assuage the very real worries coming from the club at the time that all, bar the deluded, see through now.

Gets worse for Awaywego he’s a deluded sheep now 😂

Yeah, but he pays for the team bus, apparently. Lol.

I reckon if Awaywego hadn’t got that cheap burger from WHAM’s mate at Ilkeston that day he would probably agree with the majority , he’s obviously easily bought 😂

Well WG I said weeks ago wait and see after the first ten games but for people to be calling for his head now as one or two are after what he’s achieved before is plain ga ga IMO, you don’t make a decision based on the first three league games and as for pre season well that’s a debatable point, if it’s about winning games well we won some pre season games and AB tried different formations which is what pre season is about surely. One shape of play doesn’t fit all opponents every game and with AB saying he needs to change things and it’s not good enough ( which it isn’t ) he has to be given time to change it around. Do Man U sack Carrick after losing at relegation doomed Hull ( according to some experts) I’m guessing some on here would sack him? Ridiculous, give AB a chance FFS.

Are we in danger of dropping a league after just three games in?, rather knee jerk IMO unless some have a set agenda against the current manager

    I admit it.
    I didn’t want him.
    I don’t want him.
    I don’t rate him

Therefore when it comes to logical thinking about him and what he’s achieved your judgment is clouded, I understand your intransigence as regards Butler, thanks for explaining your mindset.

    Out of his depth.
Couldn’t even manage Donny Rovers Ladies.
Get him gone before it’s too late.
NLN again would be a disaster, and just might spell THE END.
    🙁

How do you propose the club fund this move?

If he had an ounce of decency he’d resign.
You don’t hold the club you supposedly love to ransom.

How is he holding the club to ransom 🤔

By holding us to a contract in which he has failed, but still gets paid?
    He should just resign.
If he’s as good as HE thinks, he’ll get another job.
Alternatively, perhaps the director(s) who kept extending his contract, when most of us were perplexed as to why, would pay him off?

How has he failed, promotion in his first season, playoff spot secured against a lot of odds in his second, oh right three games into the season and he hasn’t won a game yet that’s it. Seriously alcy give your head a wobble FFS, AB is living in your head rent free.
