SS appears to be confusing subtle with pathetic, still can’t work out whether he’s Dundee or Xmas.
Whilst there are definitely some words and punctuation within this sentence any meaning is tough to ascertain.
Please don’t use this sort of stuff on any cover letter should you go for the job.
😂
I’d prefer them to play on the sandpit – gives us more time to let the pitch bed in. Last thing I want to see is the pitch being farmed out all May/June. One dislocated knee from a pro would eat through all the income
This is an excellent point!
Last season the same final was played on our ground in-between our home playoff games.
Still nothing to see.
If you think something is untoward ask your insider SS.
Thanks for the update – it’s good to see we seem to have local County Cup finalists back to back.
By the way – my ‘moving the goalposts’ was another too subtle quip for you.
I’d slow down and maybe have alternate days in attack mode fella if I were you.
😂
The semis were played on the 1st of March the final on 12th of April.
That was a long enough wait as it was.
Nothing to see, and in this case the club just helping out the county association, to be fair nice to be asked with the state it’s been in.Never used to be the case.
Local league matches always had to wait until season end years ago and eventually didn’t they price themselves out of using it for local league and also that local marathon that was held there at season end?
Something maybe has changed (£££?) – or maybe I’ve missed it in previous recent seasons or maybe local teams haven’t reached the county cup finals?
An insider tells me one of the main reasons for the re-advertising is that contractually they keep moving the goal posts.
Anyone else find it weird they had a local league final there before the season end recently?
Thought they always tended to wait until season end to offer it up?
I take it your referring to PD and Stu about not being able to get a ticket again.lol.
TBH id forgotten about the later! 😊
I can remember, back in the day, ‘huge fans who’d been following them since 1654 (but not been able to get to a game recently)’ coming out of the woodwork and having their angst written letters printed in The Scunthorpe Telegraph.
Happens every season when success means tickets are in short supply.
😂
Minded to agree that we’ve not been playing well lately so probably doubtful we’ll progress.
As you say, hope we’re both wrong and we can string some one off performances together to bookend a brilliant season.
PS be careful using words like ‘loose’ and ‘there’ (rather than ‘lose’ and ‘their’) on here – the resident, self imposed, academics on this thread will have you hung, drawn and quartered rather than focusing on the contents of your replies 👍 😂
PS off thread but regarding ticket sales for the play offs – it’ll be interesting to see how many tickets ST holders can purchase this time around for sales controlled by The Iron.
Wasn’t it, a maximum, of four for the final last season? That caused some to lose their minds.
I can’t recall if this was open to only 24/25 ST holders or if it was also extended to new Early Bird purchasers of 25/26 ST too.
Hopefully we get to the point of, close to, full houses and if so it’ll only be a matter of weeks before we’re reading that someone whose followed them since 1654 can’t get a ticket.
Your incredibly clever banter of course implies the Iron will have a home play off game. Sadly by no means certain or even likely according to 2 or 3 of our more pessimistic posters.
Hopefully we’ll continue to pick up points and stay fifth and be playing, at GP, on Tues 28th against 6th.
Weirdly that’ll be disappointing to some reading this.
Xxx level ‘bantz’ tbf
Am glad you, personally, didn’t miss the inference for missing the games within the thread topic Deerey.
Predictably the other replies did in their haste to join another, infamous, predictable and parochial Iron Bru pile on.
Maybe I’ll have to be less subtle in future and resort to name-calling as per others.
Want to have the choice to see the playoffs? (as well as every other game for years and years) – then act accordingly, don’t be dim and don’t get yourself banned.
😂
Aye. Pretty dim. I’ll be at those playoffs though – unlike some others 😂
Imagine having your feelings hurt by my OP so much that you need to base, such a poorly punctuated and condescending response, around vocab.
Was this, allegedly, drunk and serial abusive, angry banned man one of your drinking buddies or just one of your forum frrrrieennnddds?
😂
The premise of the thread (have a re-read of the OP) would seem to be criticism that AB was stroking PDs ego not the other way around.
I guess you not trusting someone, without any real evidence, is on you – little point arguing with that. PD seems a decent and harmless character to me (looking on from afar).
Funds – absolutely no idea. Possibly one to raise at the shareholders meeting – if you’re going?
It’s undeniable though that the Unity Group has ruffled feathers.
Their existence, their members, their fund raising, their location at the ground, their access to the board, just about everything seems to hack some on here off.
Scrutiny is one thing – outright jealousy another.
Onwards and something different – let’s hope them down the M180 get a stuffing tonight.
Am pretty sure I read that of the mods on here called someone I don’t know ‘poison’ earlier today.
Ironically on a thread where they, the mod, were seemingly trying to explain that name calling someone was the threshold for booting them off.
I almost spat my toast out.
It would be bloody scary!
I definitely notice more pile ons on here.
Take this thread. The first page is almost entirety anti PD and AB – lots of comments and lots of likes before anyone comes in and gives the topic some balance.
This carries through to how the club is run and, recently, how funds are raised.
I’m definitely pro people having diverse opinions but a huge amount of this seems to be legacy members of ‘rival’ supporters clubs (which, rivalry, is ridiculous anyway) seemingly being jealous of how funds are raised and how much influence they may or may not now have.
There is definitely some envy involved.
Another for Rowley here.
Whilst Roberts has scored some absolute worldies again (and kept fit all season – well done the Irons fitness side) I can’t look past Roberts knee jerk tendancy to repeatedly blame others around him when he makes a mistake. That’s a no, no as a team player especially as VC.
In his post match RH interview he suggested all remaining loanees were on their way back for the run in.
Imagine the scenes when Beck gets the winner at Wembley as a last minute sub 😁
Like it or not with back to back promotions not out of the question other owners will have noticed AB.

Watching the Iron Trust chairman having a go at Jerry at ‘their’ corner the first game after it was unveiled was quite something.
Someone definitely had their ego bruised that they weren’t the only sheriff in town.
The amount of hate towards him seems totally unwarranted.
The normal spite spitting posters citing narcissism, mostly on here, are, ironically, the same ones with hugely inflated, anonymous, egos of what’s right and wrong.
Get over yourselves – he, clearly, doesn’t take himself too seriously and isn’t hiding.
Those then, ever more desperate to tar him more, are absolutely pathetic.

Okay – point taken. I took the vacuum of no-one asking if she was ok (against the repeat narrative and mentions of anti AB on this thread) that no-one cared her about her….
As you say though, the other perspective might make others think…maybe…
A lot won’t want to read this but below is posted, from a witness (not me), verbatim (from the other social media site which seems to be the pantomime villain in here).
More importantly I hope the lady is ok. No-one else on here seems to care.
Quote begins 👇
There is two sides to every story, I’ve just read the distorted series of events on Iron Bru posted by the son of the banned supporter, he is obviously biased in his view in order to protect his father and I can understand that.
I have stated exactly what went on from an unbiased onlooker that was only a few metres away from the incident.
The fan has been acting like this for a few seasons, if we’re not playing as well as he wants he hurls abuse at our bench, if we’re playing well he hurls abuse at the away bench, it’s always nasty and at his age he should know better.
Whether it’s down to his pre match intake of alcohol or he’s just a nasty person it’s time he addressed his anger issues.
Perhaps his banning from the club will make him take stock and encourage him to address his issues. That’s the point fella – you’re straight back on the attack of anything you deam which doesn’t represent your views.
This thread should be about a fan been banned for abusive language of a female employee of SUFC.
Are you actually bothered if she is ok?
I don’t represent any Supporters Club but if you want to widen it to the Supporters Club you represent on a Sat start a new thread…
Hardly two faced – the people moaning about the ban would be the first to moan if their daughter went to work and was abused.
As it is that bits been largely swept under the carpet by some on here.
The first post, instantly framing the bloke as an OAP, with others piling is just AB anti bias oozing out yet again.
Quickly followed by anti drum, anti FB, anti non Iron Trust.
It’s frankly pathetic.
(Not so) incredible that those normal AB bashers on here are using words like ‘OAP’ and ‘elderly’ to put their bias on it.
No mention that this, now banned, bloke swore at a lady just doing her job when he was old enough to know better.
Zero sympathy.
