The worst Bru abusers on other forums have either left or got banned from here for being abusive ,they usually claim it’s because I/We don’t like what they are saying ,partly true in that we don’t like them being abusive and we have a quite high bar In that respect too ,not an exact science but calling someone names in reh swear words bracket is roughly where the bar is gratuitous name calling is often removed and ,we’d certainly keep something daft sounding like Daft sod” calling someone a Paedo is both abusive and potentially libellous. AS I SAID THESE ARE NOT STRICT GUIDELINS ,WE’VE LEARNED TO HAVE A FEEL FOR MALKICE therefore we sometimes get plenty of false equivalence .Personally I’d have loved to end this thread or delted quite a bit of it’s contents but I didn’t believe it broke our rules despite it not being very nice.Tom on the facebook group deletes what he doesn’t like and sees no wrong in that ,ironically Smitho who used to be one of the worst online in the early days is now the most approachable on there .
Positivity Dave in fairness to him realised his error and I think also regretted posting about cancer he deleted it quickly and apologised ,he’s not the devil ,he’s just not my cup of tea and he’s realising that creating an alter ego for your self brings a certain scrutiny.
This Steve Guy is poison, he’s been abusing fans for years on twitter and on here yet the club invite him in,I find this trend from the club appalling

Take this thread. The first page is almost entirety anti PD and AB – lots of comments and lots of likes before anyone comes in and gives the topic some balance.

This carries through to how the club is run and, recently, how funds are raised.

I’m definitely pro people having diverse opinions but a huge amount of this seems to be legacy members of ‘rival’ supporters clubs (which, rivalry, is ridiculous anyway) seemingly being jealous of how funds are raised and how much influence they may or may not now have.

There is definitely some envy involved.

Most of those comments are critical, without being hostile or malicious. Are we not allowed to have critical comments anymore?

I remember when such critical comments were dismissed as hatred of poor, innocent Dodgy Dave, while using that to excuse actual insults thrown at supporters for wrongthink. Being critical is not the same as calling others ‘parasites’ or ‘club killers’.

That was the premise of the thread AB feeding PDs ego what do want us to comment on AB brought it up not us.
Do you just want us to listen and not have an opinion.
I don’t trust PD one little bit I just don’t buy it that a 60 ish year old bloke all of a sudden starts to support Scunny, imo genuine footy fans don’t just start supporting a team or switch allegiances whatever it is in his case. Am I not allowed that opinion on him based on what I’ve read.
And if one did why not just support like everyone else does without all the look at me and mi mugs persona bullshit, and of course not forgetting who he’s met.
On the raising of funds we’re still waiting for a breakdown on the funds raised for pounds for the pitch, how much as been given to Scunthorpe United’s separate account the same for the unity groups separate account.
And talking of supporters clubs what happened to the funds from the old supporters club which just seemed to morph into the unity group do not fans have a right to know.

The premise of the thread (have a re-read of the OP) would seem to be criticism that AB was stroking PDs ego not the other way around.

I guess you not trusting someone, without any real evidence, is on you – little point arguing with that. PD seems a decent and harmless character to me (looking on from afar).

Funds – absolutely no idea. Possibly one to raise at the shareholders meeting – if you’re going?

It’s undeniable though that the Unity Group has ruffled feathers.

Their existence, their members, their fund raising, their location at the ground, their access to the board, just about everything seems to hack some on here off.

Scrutiny is one thing – outright jealousy another.

Onwards and something different – let’s hope them down the M180 get a stuffing tonight.

I have nothing against Positivity Dave, but people are allowed to think he is egotistical based off opinion. I cannot say if he is for certain, and don’t hold that opinion myself, but can understand how his antics might be interpreted as such, and it’s nothing to do with jealousy. That is based off your own opinion, and you’re welcome to it, but I don’t see why a negative opinion of Positivity Dave is always wrong.

As for Unity, they only ruffled me and many others because of the way they handled their inception, which was seemingly made it out to be a challenge to the Trust. Including from individuals who already caused division through insulting others for not backing Dodgy Dave. I couldn’t give a toss about how much money they make and would have zero issue with them being close to the club if they weren’t being divisive themselves.

Of course the unity group ruffled feathers, they said originally money was going to the club, it then turned out money was going to Xmas parties and subsidizing away travel. It was the lack of transparency many on here didn’t and wouldn’t put up with.
The head honcho at the time Stu had his own blog that lectured down to fellow fans, and the one on Hilton didn’t land well at all.
Real Evidence on PD, has he not just turned up on the scene then, has he not just started supporting Scunny. Is that not worthy of not trusting someone. Do you not think his previous club fans won’t trust him now.
So scrutiny yes, jealousy well you’ll have to tell us what we’re jealous about.
On the funds the unity group and PD are involved in pounds for the pitch, not a shareholder not that it’s anything do with at a shareholders meeting anyway.
Transparency what don’t you get about a bit of transparency.

It has been stated that PD is a close friend of a current players father in law. Is it, therefore, a surprise that they are fans of whichever club the son in law is playing for? Nothing sinister in that as far as I can see. (unless you want there to be of course)

Fans that seems fair enough. An Uber fan craving attention and one that promotes himself by handing out mugs he’s had specifically made, now that’s something else.
And from what you say will dump us when a certain player moves on.
Nothing sinister but not warranted either, unless you want to make your play of why it is.

Fans support clubs in different ways. Some buy season tickets, some buy shirts, some buy shares, some provide sponsorship, some watch occasionally (some only go to away games you know!) and, as we’ve seen, many give their time voluntarily.
That’s his way of supporting our club, albeit only temporarily. You think it’s OTT, I think it’s harmless.
