I doubt very much if he would have been sacked.

    Yes, I concur with CT.

The important thing is that he sounded like he was aware of the criticism of the system and learned to adapt.

And that can only be a good thing.

When S*earer signed for Newcastle part of his demands were that he got the No.9 shirt, was made captain and took all the penalties.

Much to the amusement of Les Ferdinand who happily took the No.10.

Yes Deerey, my mate was there. I hope he didn’t leave on 85 minutes like he does at SoL!

Texted me to say “2007 all over again?”. Not quite but I get the sentiment.

No doubt the Mackems will be odds on favourites for a swift return to the Championship, but it’s worth it just to shut the Mags up about being Wembley winners!

watched both the York v Oldham and FGR v Southend PO games and twas dam fine football on show ..if thats the standard we are up against next season its gonna be a long hard season.

Funny that, because I watched the Europa League Final and the football on show was shite!

So not so much about the level you’re at as how you perform on the day.

If AB can put together a team that will go out there and fight for the shirt and each other we’ll be fine. The problem we had during our rapid demise was too many players not putting in a shift.

When South Shields went full time there were a couple of players (don’t remember who) that wouldn’t give up their jobs.

I know one went to Spennymoor, not sure about the other(s).

You stole my thunder WG. Blackett would be a good signing. Glen Taylor at Spennymoor has been prolific but he’s 35 now.

Don’t agree re: Storer DSGM. Seen a few of Chester’s other games with my mate this season and he’s looked a bit shaky at times.

Let’s see if Mick’s as comfortable predicting NLP scores as he was with NLN.

Weekly Rene. Usually The Iron’s fixture plus four more.

Big thanks to SST for organising the competition. I’ll be signing up for next year as and when.

We ain’t keeping hold of Fitz. I think a deal has already been done.

Is Clunan too lightweight for NLP? I would argue that we need a bit of steel in midfield next season.

Happy to keep Maxi, Evans and Alfie plus another experienced CB. Will be an interesting couple of months ahead.

HMS PTL has arrived at it’s destination as predicted. Faced choppy waters, but completed the voyage to the promise land.

She should have won the Blue Ribband, but instead limped into port three weeks later.

Now some of the crew will no doubt jump ship and Captain Butler will have to send out his Press Gang to put together a company worthy of steering her around the Cape of Vanarama and into the EFL Ocean.
