Let’s give them a thumping Saturday.
Iron 3-0 Shots
Hopefully they will be shooting blanks.

W’hall & Howe up top.October 22, 2025 at 11:03 am #312438Let’s hope they don’t have a new manager in place before Saturday, we don’t want their players trying to impress a new guy.

October 22, 2025 at 12:55 pm #312444Would prefer TSF to Howe, fitness and availability dependent

Let’s hope Alan Dowson brings his 10% and not his 42% revolver to the gunfight on Saturday.
October 22, 2025 at 8:00 pm #312456They have scored two more goals than us but have conceded 20 more goals than us
October 23, 2025 at 1:52 am #312457there aint no easy push over games in this league and i hope AB and the boys can get back to winning ways, still undecided on what score my tenner bet will be on this week, again fancy there might be a few goals maybe a 3-2 or 4-2 incoming hopefully to the Iron
October 24, 2025 at 1:15 pm #312471looking at their results if we think we are going to push for top 7 you win this game.

October 24, 2025 at 4:56 pm #312474Should be a few goals in this so 5-3 Scunny however I should be there so likely to be a boring 1-0 or even worse 0-0
October 24, 2025 at 7:15 pm #312477“National League side Aldershot Town have appointed John Coleman as their new manager. The 63-year-old has almost 30 years of managerial experience and has coached the likes of of Accrington Stanley, Rochdale and Gillingham.”
Bad timing for us?
October 25, 2025 at 10:55 am #312478They have scored two more goals than us but have conceded 20 more goals than us
They have scored the same number of goals as us (28). The two against Wealdstone don’t show up on the league table.
We should win this one but we seem to have contracted a dose of Wilcoxitis. Too many draws.
Another 1-1?
October 25, 2025 at 11:59 am #312479I foresee a propitious outcome – good weather, players returning from injury, forwards eager to kick start a scoring run, a loud rambunctious crowd, possibility of going 2nd if a couple of other results are cooperative :-)

October 25, 2025 at 1:21 pm #312481There are 2 key performance indicators that define promotion winning teams. The first is that you don’t keep losing to your rivals, and so far, we’ve done quite well on that! The second is you beat the poorer sides in the division and between now and Christmas we have a chance to display or credentials here ( with the exception of the Rochdale away game which fits into the first category. Thus, I’m not too concerned about how many we score today as long as we win. 1-0 is as good as 6-5!
October 25, 2025 at 1:24 pm #312482But not as entertaining.
October 25, 2025 at 1:32 pm #312483Unless you’re Russ
October 25, 2025 at 1:36 pm #312484Predicting a 2-1. Won’t be there today sadly – the rough and tumble of the Mortz was all getting a bit too much. No wonder I don’t go to matches anymore ;)
October 25, 2025 at 2:20 pm #312485Given today’s lineup , I would be more than happy with a boring, flat 1-0 win!

October 25, 2025 at 2:36 pm #312486Blimey! What’s happened? Flu epidemic?
October 25, 2025 at 2:59 pm #312487How does Chadwick start ahead of Howe? Baffling.
October 25, 2025 at 3:01 pm #312489REALLY STRANGE STARTING LINE UP ..
dont get it at all
October 25, 2025 at 3:08 pm #312490Ouch… I’d rather a plague of a million praying mantis be gnawing on me than have to listen to the Dribble of Oz “commentating”

I was never too interested in Dinosaurs.

October 25, 2025 at 3:23 pm #312495October 25, 2025 at 3:34 pm #312498Westbrooke – 1 goal in 42 appearances for Donny.
1 in 2 (?) games for us.
October 25, 2025 at 3:53 pm #312501Amazes me why supporters seem so increasingly perplexed when the line up picked isn’t what they expected.

Iron 3-0 Shots
Att: 4,472At half time – we sit 2nd in the ‘in play’ league.
October 25, 2025 at 4:07 pm #312504Why am I perplexed? just like many on here I feel that we have a good preferred starting outfield 10 , with perhaps 3-4 more than adequate subs. In my mind, these “more than adequate subs” do not describe Beck, Brogann or Eze. Thus if they are in the matchday squad then those that are not are either injured or ill. My next question therefore is “How long are they likely to be out?” How perplexed I become depends on the adequacy of the answer to the question. For example, I am perplexed about the length of time Will Evans will be out as I’m pretty sure he is undergoing a Head Injury Protocol. If he is, we won’t see him in an Iron shirt until Yeovil at home!
October 25, 2025 at 4:21 pm #312505My ‘perplexed’ observation was a general one, beyond but including the Bru vacuum but I understand your perplexity Phil. My view is that if players are injured they’re injured and others must be played. Today’s line up should be more than enough to beat Aldershot and I trust Butler to know what he’s doing. Chadwick over Carlton makes sense to me, for instance.
Just to add, rather than the team sheet, our defence perplexes me, exponentially!
