High profile sports people seem a fair target for some and it baffles me why somebody would want to have it out with a fit professional sportsman. I guess drink and drugs will probably play a large part in these type of issues but I reckon most people contemplating confronting Ivan Toney haven’t really thought it through, the court case hopefully will make things clearer.

A record number of candidates – 34 standing in the Clacton by-election.
Some (not so)serious opposition in next weeks line up:
Baron Von Thunderclap
Count Binface
Howling Laud Hope
Nick The Incredible Flying Brick
Woke Trump CarrzeeWonder if Baron Von Thunderclap is related to Thunderclap Newman? Ah well as long as they all get it together on polling day.
Guess a person who doesn’t deal in facts is prone to mistakes, bit like knowing your hosepipe ban from your commercial exemption. If watching paint dry brings a promotion and a top five finish against the odds then what colour wall do you want to watch dry would be my question.

My take on AB is based on facts not maybes or could have done, promotion plus top 5 finish in a higher league over some teams with bigger budgets is a good return for most I’m guessing.

As I have said before his first two seasons in charge have been successful and that is how the board and the majority of fair minded fans will be seeing it IMO. Why sack a guy who is doing well in his job?

It was borrowed. I think the original was:-
Jesus saves but St John scores the rebound,Someone wrote on Tescos wall “ Jesus saves, Whitehall misses”, obviously a season ticket holder.
Bit like New York according to Gerard Kenny! Oh that’s named it twice!
Absolutely give the young lad a chance, why would you wish any other. Welcome young man and the very best of luck playing for us.

Does this mean Hitler wasn’t such a bad guy after all? Unbelievable Jeff!!!!
Just asking a question.
Absolutely it’s just some get prickly when they can’t provide an answer to said reply about that question and deviate down a different route but then again I know you know 😜
“Suspicion” “long time supporters” “someone” – all very vague. Any substance to this or just a s*** s*******/fishing exercise?
Easy cass play the ball remember 😂

Large ladies (and some gentlemen) who think they look good in Lycra shorts!
Even worse when they add a football shirt!
There was suspicion which of course is very hard to prove as accurate, so devilishly clever some of these managers.
I get your points NI and DM, innovator or interferer it’s always a talking point as is standing still and not moving forward. Certainly a topic for debate.
I would suggest without hearing it that it follows the format of manager speak we hear trotted out up and down the land week in week out. They can only say so much about their ambition after all and it’s generally on repeat 99.9% of the time.
All the body swerving you care to employ won’t get away from the point about your original post stating the obvious about the majority of football clubs being funded by directors loans and Scunthorpe United be no different to the majority which was my response , I questioned why you had made the post specifically about our club’s directors past and present and not all directors of clubs in general. We ain’t any different to the rest alcy and you never addressed that point apart from the “ I ain’t bothered about other clubs”, which is laughable and you know it is, anyhow carry on having a go for the sake of it, we all get our rocks off in different ways I guess.
Wenger wants 2 yearly world cups.
Doesn’t know the game that well if he believes that’s the answer. If the continental comps, Euros, Copa America etc were kicked into touch it could work holding the World Cup every two years. Sure it’s radical but so was the Premiership and it is about growing the world competition to embrace more countries, just a thought not saying it doesn’t need some serious thought before going ahead.

Wonder if his investment is in the form of loans like the majority, he ain’t getting his money back on 1100 gates that’s for sure but just putting in against a losing format ( finance wise ) isn’t going to last forever.

Venger, well respected knows the game , the current idiot is neither respected or understands the game IMO.

Forty plus fatties wearing football shirts
I think Alcy was referring to the season before.
Can’t have it both ways it was last season he is meant to have told the fan to f*** off but the season before we got promoted. Either way both of Butlers seasons in charge have been deemed a success particularly finishing fifth last season budget wise , just can’t please some folk.
He was still learning last season in fact in truth you never stop learning unless of course certain people are arrogant to think they know it all, which they don’t.
The famous old wings of an eagle which still gets sung today. We only ever flew over blunder park to do our business as I recall.

The boy stood on the burning deck
A pocket full of crackers
One fell down his trousers leg
And Burny away his kna…..That was our version at school
Butler is no different to any young manager learning the job he will try things he believes to be correct and will learn from things that don’t work. Not every opponent fits into a neat little box which suits us just playing one way all the time, he will make mistakes and make correct calls just like any manager,I will judge over the season and not preempt before a ball is kicked in anger.
I think an hour with Positivity Dave would benefit you both.
Maybe or it may put them in the funny farm 🤪
Hi all,
I am putting the finishing touches to a new look Bru site, including a revamped prediction league, which will go live before the first game of the season. The prediction league will have a couple of new features including a holiday mode which uses your own default score if you miss a round of fixtures and the option to apply a banker to one fixture per week to potentially secure double points.
The site itself will be moving away from WordPress, which will give me more flexibility to add features and should improve the user experience. All user accounts and forum posts will be migrated and further details will be availalbe in due course.
You can enter the 2026/27 Prediction League using the button below. As usual entry is £15, split between hosting costs and the prize fund with the remainder towards kit sponsorship for the forthcoming season.

Thank youThe new t&c’s page kept booting me back to the original page, gave up in the end but could not get on the site till about an hour later when I downloaded bru again from the web, seemed to work ok then and it allowed me to accept the new terms. I’m guessing I wasn’t the only one.
Reckon Lonny Donegan would appreciate the Derby version, quality banter put to music.
