According to someone on the Facebook group, those who question calling Savage a paedo are ‘woke libtards’. Deep critical thinking at it’s best.
It’s one thing being critical of Carlton, quite another insinuating the critic wouldn’t be happy for him coming on and playing a blinder.
I’m pleased Mahady wasn’t taken to task over it but Watson would have been criticised had it been him.

I think it will cause more issues not letting him stand. Firstly, they need to find a strong candidate for Gorton and Denton. There’s been a lot of flag hanging round those parts recently.
Burnham’s been focused on his role as GM Mayor the last few years, and a good job he’s made of it too. If he harbours ambitions to lead the Party and the country I wouldn’t hold it against him. It’s politics and he’s hardly Machiavelli.
He’d be a bigger challenge to Farage in a general election than Starmer or any other potential leader of the Party. That’s the bottom line for me.
Been critical of Matt Ellis a while back over his ‘keeper comments, but credit where it’s due for this post:
‘What a privilege it is to watch a Scunthorpe United team with so much heart, tenacity, graft and willingness to fight for every ball. We have turned over a very good opposition this evening. This is a special group, we could well be in for another landmark campaign.’
Blocked! Boooo!
There was a period around 30mins in to first half when there was some audible restlessness around the stadium. At the point we were finally getting a grip on the game, keeping possession and knocking it about. I thought it was excellent play. Too impatient, some supporters.
Intelligence Artificial?
And he’s a great watch. Pace, guile and commitment to getting the ball. Admirable recovery from that horrific head clash incident too.
Using Savage as an excuse to behave badly is lame. I’ve yet to see or hear anything he’s done that merits the worst of it. Met him once at another non-league ground and he came across as thoroughly decent and convivial.
Thankfully none of that in the Mortz
A lot of respect for anyone who staples together their split trousers. High risk strategy.
Great game after that shaky start. Rowley essential and Westbrook instrumental. Subs made a visible difference, fresh legs, up and at em. First time I’ve seen the pitch in the flesh for a few months. Embarrassing. Must make the players anxious about passing low and trying to accelerate through soil and sand.
Played well as a centre forward today from the bench. If only he could sustain some consistency.

Sloppy and pedestrian for first 30mins. Definitely a penalty. I’d like to see Smith on second half to run at them
Not so sure about that. Being the largest and capital city, it’s highly likely London institutions will get a big chunk of it but there has been a pretty successful concerted effort by DCMS / Arts Council over the last few decades to distribute funds across the country, and targeting areas of the country with lower levels of cultural engagement and high levels of deprivation. All the large applications for capital and revenue funding are assessed by multiple panels and weighting, to try and ensure a good spread and distribution across the country. £28m for instance is for public libraries capital refurbishments country wide, with an emphasis on venues in cities, towns and villages that need it most.
That said, there’s been a lot of flak following the recent proposal to transfer funding control of public libraries (in addition to local authority funding) from Arts Council to the British Library in London. Quite why it’s been proposed by Baroness Hodge in her recent review is a mystery.
Is that what you wear in the ‘cultural temple’?

If you lived bottom of Ashby you could email Max Bell to help :)
Is there a YouTube link for tomorrow’s match?

Get taken over by Yanks and be renamed the New York Cabbage Patch Dolls.
Sorry wondergoals, not very miserable that.
Would players have got away with placing ball for corners virtually outside the quad in the past?

He might not appreciate it but Chris Sutton will.

Greylag, Brianiron and Heath.
Not sure they took their ball home though or felt the need to remind everyone how missed they’d been.
