So we could be in trouble for someone throwing a bottle onto the pitch during the Sutton game,
something rarely seen lately on our pitch – ‘ bottle ‘

A worry for me is our defenders are not passing the ball out of defence, they are just route 1, hope for the best.
As MKIron said we can play football on the mud, it did not bother Boreham or York..
But watching the low-lights of the Sutton match, too many balls played high from the defenders over the heads of Ewing, Beestin, Westbrook and Rowley, all midfielders who can play on the mud, sorry i mean the grass pitch.
Does anybody remember Alfreton at home last season, the ball had snow on it, it spent that much time in the air, and the pitch was probably a lot better then.
AB tactics if all else fails play route 1..
I said at the match on Tuesday, how long till we bring Pat Jones down to our level of passing it back, the one player who looks like he can beat defenders like our Cal Roberts

I did see Connor Smith in the National League North for us and i agree he was fantastic, but to quote from an ABC song to show my age, ‘ THAT WAS THEN, BUT THIS IS NOW ‘
He came to us from HEARTS in the Scottish premier league, but we have since signed him from, is it division 1, and he just does not look like the former player.
Maybe he looked good in National League North, a bit like Carlton.
And if AB plays him over Pat Jones on Saturday against Alty, even Positivity Dave cannot explain that one

To deeryeme66, the signings are ok, though not convinced about Farrell, but the point i am trying to make is the defence is shocking, and we have added one more defender

We do need a head of recruitment now, never mind next season.
AB is a control freak i think who wants to run everything at the club, i hear he even does the nutrition side..
Getting Tahir, one ok, but not outstanding defender, then as many wingers, attackers that are available when we are letting in 2/3 goals a game is wrong..

Ironawe. we need to be 4th or 7th as where we are now, 6th we play 5th place at their ground, but worryingly the winner plays 2nd place team in the play off semi final ( Rochdale or York away )

Yes, we have a great signing in Pat Jones, but ffs, he is right footed and Butler plays him on the left wing

I had a look at the play off matches and as others have said if we finish 4th, we play the team that finishes 7th, at Glanford Park but more importantly the winner plays the team that finishes 3rd, avoiding playing the 2nd place team ( Rochdale or York )
Obviously the table positions may change after the last game of the season.

Are we not playing with 10 men already by starting Connor Smith every game ??
Put him on loan somewhere for match practice..

£181 million, how much would it cost to run Scunthorpe United, and to what league would we be comfortable in.
I would make sure we had a fantastic pitch, and get under soil heating while we are at it.
And something that does need £181 million, some Claret & Blue coloured goal nets..

Live on DAZN, may be worth giving my seat up and watching it at home, so can switch it off as opposed to seeing all 90 plus minutes
    of rubbish..
I do not think Connor Smith is better than NLN.

Whitehall is annoying, he could have easily been sent off against Sutton, so i would not mind seeing Farrell start ahead of him, but then Farrell does not look very quick, but he is certainly powerful to push defenders off him..
If Butler starts with Connor Smith and not Pat Jones. he has lost the plot.

2 more years after this season of AB, how he keeps playing Connor Smith, he is not up to it.
And Jones was far far better in the second half.
Farrell was too slow, did not offer anything.
Sutton deserved their victory, quicker than we were, more bite about them. wanted it more.
The ground almost half empty by the final whistle.
What about that Positivity Dave ?

We must start Farrell with Whitehall, though i would happily drop Whitehall om order to play Dausch on the left wing with Roberts on the right.
It is surely time for a 5:0 or more, our last convincing win was Truro, last year.
Let us have a good lead before AB bingo subs start and we sit back as always.

We all know there is more to the Howe story.
If Carlton Uba.. had gone out on loan that would be fine.
Pardon me AB but if Howe had an attitude, i have never noticed it in all the great games he played for the iron, and put 100% effort in.
As others say, with Dausch and Farrell up front with Roberts we looked very very threatening yesterday.
For me, for Tuesday evening, drop Connor Smith ( that’s another AB strange situation, that he not ready yet, how many games ) and Whitehall. Start with Dausch and Farrell up front..

Butler has to drop Connor Smith and play Farrell on Tuesday, what a difference Dausch and Farrell made when they came on.
    Smith offered nothing.
And Awaywego, the play offs seem nailed on, but winning the playoff is a distant dream

Whitehall doing his best to get sent off, Connor Smith not doing anything.
And as premier iron says, how can you leave Farrell on the bench.
Butler needs to make half time changes or is he bothered now he has his new extended contract..

A 2:0 win for Yeovil.. still not convinced as we have got complacent, when the 3rd position was achievable and seem to be going backwards, when our win probability for a team 20 points behind us is less than 50%, it is not encouraging..

I agree with iron64, signing/extending Roberts contract is the priority for Scunthorpe United.
Without him we do not win, not that we are a one man team, but most opposing managers mention Roberts as the main threat.
Just play him in the correct position AB !

Do they as a team work on, how it will not help the team if we have subs in injury team that disrupts the flow of a team that had created chances and scored them ??

Talking of problems, i think we have them this coming Saturday at Yeovil, as they looked good tonight beating Tamworth.
And Boreham Wood look much improved beating York, quite a night Rene Artois, with Rochdale winning.
And Southend are in the play offs with games in hand on nearly every team in the league !
Is the National League more exciting than league 2 ?

Let it be known Bhuna is not in the positivity gang, as i can’t afford to buy a hotel room now in London for a national league play off, that Scunthorpe probably will not be in.. Remember it will most likely be either York or Rochdale in the final…

The fans who criticise, Mr Butler clearly said should stay away from Glanford Park, so that is why the crowds are not as big.
I am sorry AB, but when Boston come and totally dominate us, a mid table team, we are not going to sit quietly, having paid over £20..
Butler goes back to the League 1 then championship days, with zero negativity. That is when we had a good team, a great defense, Butler thinks he is better than National League, but i can’t see him lasting in league football..

Butler should take note of SODIron as he has managed at a higher level than Under 11s or a Sunday football pub team, and would keep on friendly terms with the fans unlike Butler and Schofield.
At half time on Saturday the boos were directed toward Butler and i saw Schofield laughing like he did not care so he was reminded of the fact that were were losing.
I think neither have had man management training..

Very insightful, hope you sent a copy to Glanford Park as they are definitely playing, like its job done.
Think AB needs to stop thinking he is a premiership manager with his late sub tactics, which is ok if you’re bringing premiership, or York City players on but not ours.
Our last 5 home matches, a lot have said they were not trying, hence we give teams a goal or 2 head start.
Can’t remember the last time we were dominant in a game, maybe Tamworth, way back in early December and before that Truro in September !
As you say SODiron & Deereyme66, we need to, or the management, to know we are not finished.
To get that vital 3rd place, so we have a home semi final, then a trip to Wembley.
Although our home form this year is garbage..
