Nah…not his fault, nowt ever is.
Covid, council, absent supporters, in that order.

Alexander changed seemingly overnight from fielding a team playing attacking football, who seemed to score at will, to fielding a team who seemed not to know very much at all.
We shall probably never know the reason, but I have always had my suspicions.11 users thanked author for this post.
Well that’d be one way of getting shut of the Swanns.
Bit drastic, mind.As long as I’ve watched football there’s always been one rule for large clubs and another for the little clubs.
And probably always will be.

Nope.
It’ll end up as a fight NOT to drop any further.
Mark my words.
With an uninterested owner and a low budget we’re in for the same again next season wherever we are.1 user thanked author for this post.
All well and good.
Except…1. If the owner ain’t interested the money will be peanuts. And he does NOT appear to be interested.
2. If the budget is peanuts we won’t be a “big club” in NL. We’ll be scratting around for players no-one else wants. A bit like now, and this present team would flounder in NL.
3. York City probably consoled themselves with your type of thinking when they went down. Remind us where they are?2 users thanked author for this post.
Dover…(at present), 246 miles.
Pity they were cheated by NL and will be relegated.
I might have gone next season to see them play us at the Glanny.Just moving back on topic, surely this is more about why away fans seem to be able to get onto the pitch with impunity, while home fans are penned by seemingly dozens of stewards…yet both sets of fans are subject to the same law?
And further, why does the excact opposite seem to be enforced away from home?4 users thanked author for this post.
Interesting how when Insulate Britain protesters block roads and disturb economies and jobs they need clamping down on, but it’s a horror when the authorities clamp down on right wing protesters. :-)
And the Extinction rebellion and BLM “peaceful protests”?
I blame Mr R A C Symes, for setting up the club in 1899.
We could all have been supporting various other clubs instead!
And probably will be in a couple of years.
We should hold a poll:
Who will you support once the Iron cease to exist?
Grimsby Town
Lincoln City
Doncaster Rovers
Hull City
Barton
Brigg Town
Winterton Rangers
Bottesford Town
Someone else.
No team, I’ve had it with football supporting.1 user thanked author for this post.
Really?
Relish their job like the Canadian coppers in Ottawa?I hope not.
Mind, that is what socialism gets you: do as we day or get beaten up.🙄
Yep.
So the one thing that Swann improved turns out to have been Wharton’s idea anyway.Missing him alcy?
Nope.
But Swann is worse.
One ran it as a hobby for his mates.
The other has run it into the ground.
Maybe our next owner might actually run it properly.February 20, 2022 at 2:45 pm in reply to: Petition Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire Council #232388Lol, aye, I bet UKIP would have been more supportive 🤣
WTF has UKIP got to do with owt?
Have they ever held power here or in Scunthorpe?
Honestly, mate, your strawman arguments get worse1 user thanked author for this post.
February 20, 2022 at 9:56 am in reply to: Petition Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire Council #232324Sunthorpe/North Lincs have never shown any support or interest in the club.
That’s why we are situated outside the town boundary, and the ground is known as Glanford Park after Glanford, the original parliamentary seat. (I refuse to use the stupid Swann name).
That was the Liebour-led council, mind. Maybe the Tories would offer more support, but I’d not hold my breath.2 users thanked author for this post.
I got better than that at the start of the season.
This forum is already that
Some years ago I put this very question to David Beeby.
I got fobbed off, of course, but the main point he made was that if someone was arrested, that tied up resources for dealing with others.Doesn’t seem to affect other clubs when we play away, where I’ve witnessed some of the most hostile stewarding.
But Beeby and that grinning ex-copper who was then head of security, were adamant.

Today if we get the penalty and score it’s 2-0 and a completely different game, I can grantee if it’s in our box its a penalty! Not looking for excuses as we have been in free fall for 4 seasons just expressing an opinion about how referees seem to favour higher placed teams.
Something that I’ve seen in every division for as long as I’ve watched football.
“Fergie time” anyone?February 19, 2022 at 8:05 pm in reply to: Petition Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire Council #232286What would we petition them to do, exactly?
Whilst I agree with BI66 in principal, let’s not give the fat man another excuse.

Hill out?
Probably all our chairman have left a debt Wharton certainly did,but that’s what most clubs do, we’re not special in that way, but you just expect Swann to walk away, why? I am sure non of us would, what big thing have you given away?.
Because one of his statements said he’d leave our club better off when he went?
Well it looks like he’s had enough: putting no money in, not paying off the loan to let us sign anyone worthwhile, not attending matches any more, etc etc.
No.
But according to the latest podcast the club has done “the best it can given the circumstances”.
Yet I got a b*llocking for calling that bs.
Some folk are too easily either led, or satisfied.
Name of the game for this club under Swann.
1 user thanked author for this post.
Does it say how much they had to raise?
Will we be able to raise £11 let alone £11 million?Do you mean SNAFU?
Yep.
So the one thing that Swann improved turns out to have been Wharton’s idea anyway. Is it bustitition to Donny?
I’m off to Darlington on 2nd March and need to be on time.Yep, and that’s very different to ‘Swann/the club did all they could to keep us up’ with quite different connotations and implications. You make it sound like they were defending Swann, and so much you felt like vomiting. Massive exaggeration and distortion of reality. At no point did they defend Swann.
Swann owns the club, mate.
To all intents and purposes he IS the club, and has made us aware we are just customers.
You lick his arse all you want.😄I’m not going to.😉
Remember when they used to close the A18 between Berkeley Circle and the M181?
