Have to agree Rowley and Ewing not playing well, they have no pressure on them with players out on loan. Need Beestin in for Ewing, as good as he is, he will be away at the end of the season. As much as Roberts blamed him with his rant, and Butler agreed by taking him off, Smith needs a run of games to get sharpness and form. He cares and will be here next season.
Defence is a joke, Full Backs need to be JB and Horton, have the old men at CH and if they are past it, will need a loanee in. As someone said, we’ve been poor since Horsham, lucky v Southend, no tackles won at Carlisle.
Forget the next 3 games any points will be a bonus. Get it Sorted for Solihull onwards 3 out 4 at home and a chance to get form back

they weren’t poor just not at their high standards. Last night we were out tackled by a strong midfield. i would rather have our skilful midfield.

Smith has to start Sat looked the sharpest and Ewing and Westbrooke just below their high standards, Roberts continues to shine.
With Boston coming to park the Hurst bus and and nick a goal we need the all quality on the pitch to get ahead or it will be a long afternoon.

Hurst looks like he is getting use to the quality he is now playing with after Gateshead. Just needs to take a risk and it come off.

Never felt Mahardy had anything too difficult to deal with, decent saves, a couple of crosses. Interesting having seen the video of their pens not much contact to go down with on either. If it was against you would say a pen, i’m happy to say no pen. Their players didn’t surround the ref with rage, perhaps they knew too. And ref missed a clear shirt pull on Whitehall so evens it up. Truth is they weren’t good enough, ref gave them an excuse

perhaps the loss of ££££ losing to Horsham has forced our hand and no one wants the other strikers.
1-11 we are still good the tricky bit if teams park the bus we have nothing coming off the bench. Match day squad is weaker with no Howe

On the face of it not the best idea. Looks a threat from the bench, not at starter level yet, but room to improve to that. Of the fringe strikers he would have been the last send out.

i fail to see how celebrating a goal is a reason to abuse someone by calling them a paedo. Fine abuse wind up merchants but give it a bit more thought than that.

He is paid to poke for a reaction on 606, that doesn’t make him anything more than that. At a loss to know why you would feel the need to throw insults, other than you want to look stupid yourself for pointless ranting. His post match comments make him look sensible and understanding of people and the game and a small number of our fans the opposite.

Have to agree – Barrows not confident enough to attack, just solid. JB made a big difference to both stemming their threat down the left and joined in to pose a threat going forward.

Away wins at York, BWood, Southend, & draw at FGR shows how good we are. Frustrating at the odd blip but this team can turn it on and be a joy to watch. Long time since we could say that.
As Evans said in a football match we are good, not so good breaking teams down in a training match.
If we Learn that 1st could be possible

the problem is we start to clear the ball anywhere which means it comes straight back. Up to the last 10 mins it was calmly passed out of defence, (esp by Horton) and we attack. For some reason gets to 80mins and we think the best form of defending is 10 men in the box! Though Butler was correct on the performance a point was fair it was the circumstances that make us feel bad. Players felt it too, which is good to see.

seems to have good stats and lot more experience at FL level than Eze or Chadwick. If on a par with Zain then good news

And we all get a view retrospective and knowing the result. It was the subs what won it against Tamworth! Quiet week for positing that week.
I’m pretty sure AB doesn’t make subs to invite pressure or those that come on only want to impress. And we don’t know of any twinges.
Reality it we have 4/5 players who are exceptional and league standard the rest aren’t! I’d rather have then on from the start and for as long as possible.
Teams who are losing take risks hence it looks like bad subs. My issue is AB doesn’t leave enough of an outlet to exploit the gaps the opponents will leave both in players brought on and 11 back for corners etc.

Why do mangers talk about a false 9. We all know it means you haven’t anyone to play up top. Failed badly it was like watching over 50’s walking football until AB shuffled it.
Was impressed that Butler kept very attacking team on after the subs – Westbrook and Ewing in midfield we are only going one way and it isn’t defending the lead.
Burrows signing for the season no doubt and we’ll Rose next season (hopefully)
Only 10 points to go :-)

Things not going out way at present – sadly 3 without a win after this game, take a point and see if we can beat Tamworth and Sports

Butler seem to be over protective of players to the point of losing sight of what we all witnessed. We gave a poor team a point. AB just be honest we ain’t stupid we know what we are watching and a present its not great.
We are playing like a mid-table team which at the start of the season we were all happy to be. But when we are poor we can all say it and don’t need to be abusive, (booing is expressing a view its not abusive). There is plenty of effort and hard work just the inability to shoot (and score) is missing. BTW Westwood and Horton both look better by the week

Sadly i think you are correct. 4 of our strikers are just at this level against average/poor sides (Whitehall, Howe, Carlton, Dawson) 1 is this level (Roberts) and 1 is above this level (T-F). And that is where we fall down, we wont score enough to go up. Thankfully it will be enough to stay up. Which is all we wanted in Aug, so enjoy.

Decent performance when we clicked and played at pace. Horton outstanding, calmness clearing his lines and good distribution and not afraid to bring the ball put. Westbrooke tidy and looks decent again. We continue to punch above out expectations. :-)
