Just been on the Carlisle forums. Boyce and Will Evans have rattled them quite badly by looks of things: https://thebuzzisback.boards.net/thread/2675/scunthorpe-fans-on-social-media?page=4
Lol, ‘Animal’ and ‘GBH’. Not the hard case image Carlisle fans like to project.
I have always found him a bit of a weather vane and his attempts to undermine Starmer, as useless as he has been, for the past few years, has been underhand.
‘Taking questions at the Resolution Foundation thinktank, Burnham says that the PM “has my support, the government has my support”.
He adds that ministers also had his support when he put his name forward for the Gorton and Denton by-election in recent weeks, a move that was subsequently blocked by Labour.
“I do feel we’re at a crucial moment, it is absolutely right that people give the government stability in this moment,” he adds.’
I’ll go 2-1 win
You older lot were spoilt. Best night cup game I can recall apart from Leeds was against Hartlepool! It was great but hardly v Arsenal level!
Was it similar capacity v Leeds in the FA Cup replay early 80s? Wasn’t that attendance 8,500 plus?

I’m not being funny but my criteria for a good football manager doesn’t include ‘must be good at talking to the fans’.
No thanks. I would hope you can talk to Butler if you approach him calmly and sensibly rather than shouting stuff at him from a stand? Just an observation.
First time I’ve seen him at GP. Far from impressed and as I said before, probably should have been off at half time due to being totally ineffective, constantly losing possession and turning back. Maybe just not his day? Certainly prepared to give him time. Haven’t written him off as a bad signing. Time will tell.
‘Mahardy had to make a few routine saves’
He did make a couple of excellent stops too but I’d hardly call his performance ‘colossal’ as Matt E did. I think it’s called ‘projecting’.
Hurst should have been off at half time tbf
Deereyme66 didn’t you notice when the winning goal was scored?
First half so bad I’d completely forgotten about that blip!
Wonder what Dave found to be positive about in the first half?
Can’t help thinking much of the outcry about Howe being loaned out is being amplified by social media. 30 years ago it would have passed with barely a grumble. Didn’t hear one person mention it in the Mortz yesterday. Seen a fair number of posts that are complaining the loudest include ‘Butler’ or ‘AB’ in them – a stick to beat him with?
Rory got MOM but Evan’s should have got it,he was outstanding
Gets my vote

Just seen some photos of one of the supposed pens. Looks like simulation. On another day we’d have scored a couple more of the opportunities created and Southend would have taken their chances better. That’s football indeed.

“And now, from Norwich, it’s the quiz of the week!”.
“And now, from Scunthorpe, it’s Positivity Dave!”
Was it a pen to them? Obscured view in Mortz. I thought new lad had some deft touches. At least we woke up second half and got stuck in. Quite why we persisted playing it down the left flank to Hurst for so long was baffling. Clear as day Hurst was going nowhere.
I’d expect Smith to score double what Howe would have given how many fans greeted his return like the second coming.
Anyone know if it’s an initial month loan as the club state or rest of season as Alty state? If it is season long and no one else comes in I’d be more worried, unless there’s a recall clause.
I seriously doubt AB asked him to ‘run around like a headless chicken’!

It’s a higher love.

Good to see you posting again Rene

If Rene hadn’t gone dark already, I’d be getting worried. Hope it doesn’t do for him.

Sand tends to get firmer when watered.
See how it pans out
‘Read it on Facebook’ maybe?
‘Don’t be surprised if we end up playing games away from Glanny park due to the concerns of the players with their health and safety, evidently they’ve made strong representations to Butler over the issue.’
Where’s this evidence you speak of?
February 6, 2026 at 4:15 pm in reply to: Yet another…’what have you been listening today?’ Thread #315945‘evidently’? What evidence is this?
