Seems to have attracted the attention of a journalist Gregor Townsend.
Done a piece for THE TIMES about the demise of a once proud little club renowned for battling the odds and now heading for non-league obscurity.
I bet MR SWANN is really pleased !!

I don’t read the TIMES. Perhaps Mr Swann could get the article reprinted and put on the clubs website.
He really hasn’t a clue about what made Scunthorpe United different. How do we know ? Simple – he kept up his ridiculous seasonal mass clear out and to compound the errors of previous seasons recruited poorer and poorer overall quality players.

Really feel for Rory, gets little protection game after game and rarely do I hear any compliment from the manager.
That is what is wrong.

Roll on Barrow !!
The post match comments said a lot. More worried.

The gap has started.

He does and we hear nothing from the corridors of GP power !!
From the Forest Green game onwards the approach has to be to WIN every game.
Even if there is the odd injury replacements must buy into a must win culture, do 1 game targeting then call it a day because that is negative.
Any statement post match where “we knew what they would do and what we had to do and didn’t” says time to resig.

Exactly DAZ.
It isn’t what is written it is the words that aren’t.

I’m not trying to defend him but if posters are going to quote him at least do it accurately. Taken from the BBC:
“I’m disappointed in my approach and the way it has been taken by the fans.”
The key thing for me there is ‘disappointed in my approach’.
Don’t believe one word of it. Still not accepting responsibility – in the line you use Deereyme66 the phrase “….the way it has been taken by the fans” says it all. Still the fans fault.
From his 1st fans forum he has created a wall between club and fans. And carried this on for 8yrs ! Suddenly in a heartbeat a total acceptance his fault because the fans didn’t get it !!
And it coincides with the culmination of several years of his recruitment policy delivering a BOTTOM of the table team.

Sick and tired of what appears to directed at me – that because I am staying away I am putting the club at risk.
To confirm my previous support in that part season I did not ask for any money back for the unused season ticket games – I donated it to the club.
Last season I renewed my season ticket with no guarantee of live football. I did watch a few of the games under the F.O.C ifollow system. I stopped because of the shockingly poor level of football due to poor managerial decision making and the game targeting that was so obvious.
This season was the end, I no longer trust the leadership. I am sick and tired of the board attitude to the fans, how they are tolerated. And still they admit nothing just blame everyone else.

But BRI you can look as much as you want but if he doesn’t want to sell he won’t.
And the word vanity does sum him up, he will not want someone else to succeed. If he did then the announcement would be made and the agents board would be at the front gate.
Seems no one from the Swann household could make it to Harrogate, today the minimum should have been a statement of apology – not going to happen is it.

About right.

The issue is VANITY !
Mr Swann will not put the club up for sale because he is scared that someone will actually make it a success. Will get the fans back, lapsed season ticket sales on the increase. And restore a family club attitude.
Can the club afford the redundancy pay ?
They still haven’t got rid of KDT, have they ?
Well having seen the team I am concerned.
The changes indicate targeting. Why is Mr Cox unable to play the same squad 2 games running ?
They players never have a chance. And after the tuesday comments re Hackney & Pugh I guess Tom Pugh is injured.I look forward to seeing the squad announced.
I look forward to seeing the formation played.
I do not look forward to the post match interview !Why would I proxy anyone ? Means I am endorsing whatever his plan is and as no one knows because as usual nothing is explained.
To J. Charles – he doesn’t listen !
Fans comments/ideas mean nothing.

October 7, 2021 at 7:10 pm in reply to: Harrogate away, time to show our fury as supporters? #215009But ALCAZAR the players must be following his instructions – none get dropped for constantly following instructions do they.
Just like last season when the same failures got selected match after match, unless the regular BUPA clients were missing again.

ALCAZAR – he probably will.
There is no point me going because I don’t trust him. I did – but no longer.
October 7, 2021 at 8:39 am in reply to: Harrogate away, time to show our fury as supporters? #214969The players are only doing what they are instructed to do !
Certainly during a game I would never boo or join in a vocal demonstration. The time for that is the end but the main architect will be away from the frontline.
If we had no chance then why didn’t Mr Cox give Jai Rowe an opportunity at CB ( Mr Cox thinks he will be a good CB !!).
Rowe is a converted winger/wingback who was settling in at RB – now he doesn’t even get a chance yet many say Millen is not good enough.
The squad on saturday will be interesting.
Not reconsidering. Been to previous forums and heard the ‘smiling’ digs at older fans, probably now no longer with us. Perhaps the were rambling but they were entitled to comment and yet treated with disdain.
Mr Swann had a podcast and a humberside interview where he could have said something about these meetings and why he wanted to conduct them – but not a word ! The veiled accusation in both broadcasts that the stayaways are those causing the damage. Still will not own the situation where we have ended up with his leadership, his recruitment and the failed experiment that delivered it.
If the gates were double what they are he would consider it a victory no matter where we are in the league. And just to remind he has 91.5% of the shares, he likes to remind people.
Since 2013 he has blanked shareholders at every opportunity. At previous forums he ridicules fans genuine suggestions.
A few years ago he even wanted people to GIVE him their shares for virtually nothing !
Even in May of this year when the club lost its ground it was pointed out that his company held 91.5% of the shares in case people had forgotten the last time he reminded people.I will not be attending because I no longer have any trust in the leadership.

Just checking Mr Cox’s post Rotherham interview on Humberside.
More baffled than ever. Says Mr Hallam is a good finisher, says he had 2 chances and they were over the bar – Son not that good !!
These are Mr Cox’s comments about one of last loan signings.
“He understands how to win games” “Gets into the box and scores goals” “Great attitude, wants to win, aggressive in midfield and with running power” ! “A good passer of the ball” But after the Rotherham game said his sub did nothing, nothing changed !—let me introduce you to HAYDEN HACKNEY. Critical about Tom Pugh who ended up at left back !! Lets see who gets dropped from the squad on saturday.

Hurst signed some good players when he was here as was stated earlier but he chose to stand his ground when challenged by The Great Dictator, or as he is known round here The Great Dick. Lot of time for Hurst he was gradually turning us round and we were starting to become a good football side again until the axe came, I’m sure he will get Grimsby promoted and we are odds on for trading places come May.
I think it was about who he was trying to sign and at what wage linked to medical.
Mr Swann only needs to look at 2 clubs for the answer.
Accrington Stanley – How to run a football club
Scunthorpe United – How NOT to run a football club.

October 4, 2021 at 7:53 pm in reply to: Harrogate away, time to show our fury as supporters? #214799But he hasn’t officially put the club up for sale and until he does I don’t believe him.
