When commenting about Mark Lillis, what input is he allowed ?
Cameron Wilson, Tom Pugh, Dan Gallimore are all good enough. Mr Cox says Scrimshaw is a willing runner, why not give one of our own ‘willing runners’ the chance. Still sticking to the format of selecting the same failures who aren’t interested and putting them in a formation for targeting that does not work.
Recruitment season on season a joke, but they know that. Mr Vose was the 1st example.

False dawn, but you knew that.

They have no interest in the fans. The comment made from club leadership at the 1st Swann Club Forum said it all.
All they wanted was people to turn up, have a pie and a pint be entertained by the football on offer and then go home ! And at any future forums any suggestions were rejected – and accompanied with ‘We know what we are doing, leave it to us’ !!
To all going to Harrogate have a great day and they (Harrogate) will be very pleased to see you.

While in the job he gets all the flak. Sympathy for him ? Not a jot.
Solely down to him where we are.

Never understand why we are developing young players from other clubs who are certainly not an improvement on our young players.
And to hear that Scrimshaw is a ‘Willing Runner’ – what an accolade !
We already had them here – players who needed that chance to develop instead we drop them and loan some out. But par for the course, our players dropped latest managerial signings selected. And of course this policy has yielded fine results – JOINT BOTTOM !!
Watching and listening and somethings are going on.
The last 4 years recruitment has been abysmal, the club has had ITS money wasted and no say in the matter. At this point in time who has been recruited ‘ the rough diamonds to be polished ‘ that we will sell on ? No one.
And the fans are ignored again and again !!

But what has Peter Swann said ?
1 user thanked author for this post.
Regarding ‘silly money’ comment.
The majority of what has been spent has gone on mediocrity – and is not silly more like stupid. Over the seasons many have commented on the recruitment policy, been told there will be no changes in it so one assumes where we are now was the intention all along.
Oh for a recording of all the Swann Forums when certain comments were made. What next I wonder ??

Well now joint bottom and the only person responsible is Mr Peter Swann.
Arrived 8 years ago, held fans forums on his terms as it was HIS club and let every one know it. Made statements in answer to questions from the tolerated. Which many will remember.
Adopted a recruitment policy that would appear to have have wasted lots of money. And who carried the can the club !
Attendances will continue to fall, perhaps someone at the club will say that is the aim. Because no one knows the aim.

Team selection will say a lot tomorrow..
My wife wants to know why you rarely hear the voice of a Male commentator !!

Judging by the media engagement with the fans from the clubs leadership
it does not look good.Only 1 person can make that decision and sadly a change of plan other than targetting is not forthcoming.

Some people can only do what they are allowed to do.
Some can only make suggestions if they are advised they can !!Reading peoples comments about players sums up the off field leadership.
All you hear in post match interviews is “We knew what they were going to do” why ??
Do what we are going to do for the 90 and until that changes in and around the bottom 4 is the best you can expect.3 users thanked author for this post.
Had the pleasure to meet him at “An Evening With……” at the Wortley Hotel.
Very astute ‘Jack the lad’ and a very funny after dinner speaker.
R.I.P Greavsie.
Said before those that want to go – then you go. Those like me who don’t does not mean we do not support the club.
But I am not putting another penny into wherever it goes !!
I have no trust in the leadership, we are being laughed at.4 users thanked author for this post.
I am not envious of Grimsby Town. John McAtee – perhaps one day we will find out what went on.
I am appalled at what has happened since 2013 at Scunthorpe United. How people with a plan were shown to be actually devoid of one. Then to maintain what someone called a gamble that didn’t quite work out !! Actually showed what poor gamblers they [ THE CLUB] were and then we got the news that ‘THE’ Club had run up debts of over £11 million pounds.
That recruitment over last 5 years is akin to the tactics of ‘KERPLUNK’ !!

Re: relegation this season: The jury is out as it is a little too early to call it. That said, the signs are not good, and we seem to be going backwards both on and off the pitch.
Swann and co. have a lot to answer for.
Well answers you will not get. There is only one hope.
But like so many presently here if not signed by the manager they are rarely involved.
The moment the loan keeper is fit guess who will start !!! Some players already know they haven’t a chance no matter what.
But just what are Lillis, Musslewhite & McMahon allowed to do !!
If it is like last season not much.

Problem is Les these are the ‘types’ Cox wanted in the building. Exeter have walked three goals in with nobody anywhere near them – the defence wad the only good thing on paper. It is a gutless talentless performance beyond the worst fears of most.
Once again we’re looking at 4/5 players who should be nowhere near this level
Check out the selection recently. How many players signed by previous managers get an opportunity ? Seems that signed by Cox you are in – biggest example Tom Pugh, a Tony Daws recommendation and dropped. Mason O’Malley signed by Russ Wilcox for the U23s – now the invisible man.
So a player who has been out injured, rehabbed and after 11 weeks starts at RB when we have a RB who gets played at CB sums it all up with the crackpot targeting and formations by Mr Cox.

You are going to see soon who wants it more.
Again close to wrong end already.
Hope he smashes it. Must have been so demoralising that no matter what you do you haven’t a chance. Didn’t even have a squad number.
Although Mason O’Malley seems to be on that naughty step now.
I don’t go anymore – that is down to Mr Swann.
On field matters solely down to Mr Cox and I don’t include any other member of the coaching staff in the situation.
Always said targeting is the death knell of aspiration and how evident. But is this the plan to drain any enthusiasm from the remaining supporters ?

Just read Mr Cox’s comments in today’s Telegraph [09/09].
Ventriloquist ? No
Comedian ? Yes1 user thanked author for this post.
Nothing, Cox has signed 2 players he believes are better. He can’t be blamed for that unless he’s proved wrong. IF he’s wrong and they are no better than Pugh he should only be blasted if he keeps picking them before Pugh anyway. He did say recently that Pugh was his first choice RB so room for all 3 you would think.
Let us look at the player judgement of Mr Cox – after 2 training sessions and a friendly he wanted KDT !!

Regrettably for those who go watch it is going to be a tortuous season.
We only just escaped last season, we will not escape 2 seasons running !
Can we stop conceding late goals, can we actually become an entertaining team – all depends on who is in charge. Because Mr Cox is not the man, I wasn’t that impressed after last season but his actions upon signing the 2 from championship clubs is despicable. players get opportunities based on the performance of others – What had Tom Pugh done wrong ???1 user thanked author for this post.
