Best not get too cocky, our pitch may not see the winter out either.

In many ways a million to one chance that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Had he been in the match day squad he would not have been on that train.
Scary!
His scars will be mental as well as physical. Let’s hope he has the strength to make a full recovery.

A goalie who’s come through the ranks of an established Championship/Premier League club is better than one that’s playing non-league football.
Who’d have thought it!

Hmm! Could have done better with their goal.
Or the FA Trophy?
I’m sure someone will be along shortly to put you in the picture.
Unlucky kit. 100% defeat record!
Don’t forget the great Cleveland Taylor. Originally on loan from Bolton.
The early substitutions that all the NL managers make turns it into a farce anyway. Might as well have arranged a behind closed doors friendly against a local(ish) club.
Hopefully Halifax will win one of their remaining two games and we won’t have to play in the New Year.
But concur with CT, good win and should build a bit of confidence going into the cup game.
Questions answered?
Yeah ok. Haks 13 goals in 30 games in League 2 last season. Has Roberts ever played a game in the football league?
Yes, for Colchester Utd.
And in the SPL for Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.
Aye! Funny how simply watching something like MOTD turns many an average Joe into the football equivalent of Albert Einstein.
Finishing 19pts above Carlisle? Give over!
He’ll get some on Tuesday!
Whilst we’re talking about the lower leagues, I see ex-Iron Danny Elliott ended South Shields unbeaten start.
Blimey! What’s happened? Flu epidemic?
They have scored two more goals than us but have conceded 20 more goals than us
They have scored the same number of goals as us (28). The two against Wealdstone don’t show up on the league table.
We should win this one but we seem to have contracted a dose of Wilcoxitis. Too many draws.
Another 1-1?
I’d sooner have good results in the first half of the season than suffer a poor start and be worrying about getting away from the relegation zone.
Historically we’re not great in winter so having 30 pts on the board is a huge bonus.

Would agree with CBRP.
We’ve had a long run of games every Saturday and Tuesday/Wednesday, not helped by the rearranged Morecambe and Eastleigh fixtures and that daft NL Trophy. Plus injuries and suspensions.
However the fact that we’ve still only had one narrow defeat in fifteen games and amassed a creditable thirty points says a lot about the character of the squad and management.
We’re disappointed about the last two results of course but I don’t think anyone expected us to be where we are in the league a third of the way through the season.
Blimey! We’re on course for a 90+ pts finish. Who’d have thought it?

Some will say the result justifies the original decision. But the truth is that this was a 500 mile round trip for sod all as far as the team and supporters are concerned.
The ref will feel vindicated but this was an extra game and a a long journey we could have done without.
We got the 1-1 draw we had seven weeks ago. Take the point and move on to Aldershot.
Boycie in for Evans. Carlton for Dec. Good to see Ollie Rose back on the bench.
‘Pot and kettle personified.’
That would imply he’s dished out discriminatory and abusive language that crosses the line in the past. What specific incidents are you aware of?
You answered your own question in your first post. You said you’d reserve judgement.
I don’t know what was said, I wasn’t there. I don’t condone it, I merely provided a possible reason for why he was on the receiving end.
There’s a lot of inflammatory football chants around (one sung to the tune of The Addams Family that’s pretty derogatory). So is it okay to abuse a whole fanbase but not an individual?
Pot and kettle personified.
Perhaps if he hadn’t been such a knob throughout his playing and punditry careers he wouldn’t be a target.

It all kicked off afterwards. Reckon Awaywego must have been at the game!
Perhaps this is why these players are plying their trade in the National League rather than the Premier League?

A 44yo Joe Murphy playing well at Tranmere these days and a 33yo Connor Jennings scoring at the other end.
What could have been eh?
Yes, Horton in at LB so probably our strongest lineup.
Hope Rory doesn’t get injured mind. No keeper on the bench and Beck nowhere near the squad which should please a few.
Shaken but not stirred!

‘Was it a weaker team first half?’
Three changes at half time that made a big difference would suggest it was.
On any other day taking off Howe for Carlton would have been looked upon by some as a retrograde step.
Westbrooke will need time but he’s not a poor player. We scored four without Whitehall.
To me it’s all about the importance of Ewing and Beestin in making the team tick. As others have said, get them tied down on long contracts.
Was it a weaker team first half?
Or did they just need a kick up the arse?
