Or if his mentor hadn’t been sacked for answering back!

It’s very much in the whatever or whoever box Awaywego.
We definitely need a more proactive management team if we are to have any chance of staying in the league.
But having heard Swann’s interview last night Cox is going nowhere for a while yet. And if he did, the usual format is to put someone like Tony McMahon in as caretaker to save another few quid.
The pantomime season has started early at the SVS with Baron Hardup in charge. Our only hope is finding a Fairy Godmother, a genie’s lamp or some magic beans!

Ronashmansghost?
A 2 point point gap now extrapolates to a 9 point gap by the end of the season.
That’s why we need to kick-on NOW! Don’t leave it to the end of the season. Had we hung onto winning positions against Sutton and Carlisle we’d have had more points than all six of those teams I listed.
But we didn’t! And whatever or whoever was the cause of that needs to be sorted out NOW!
Not in five games time Mr Swann, NOW!
Challenging indeed!

Oldham have the same number of points as us. Walsall and Mansfield two more, and Bristol Rovers, Carlisle and Colchester three more.
In theory all six are catchable. So really the points tally isn’t that important as long as we are better than at least two of them.
Which, admittedly looks as unlikely as matching last year’s points total.

Great work guys, much appreciated.
Any chance of a brief summary for those of us who couldn’t listen live?
Swan Song?

Who cares about Tuesday?
It’s our league survival that’s paramount!

A position has just become available at his old club – Watford!
D’ya reckon he might apply for the job?

Cox is now like a punch-drunk boxer. He keeps getting back into the ring or up off the canvas, only to be poleaxed again by a left hook.
His seconds are of no use and his manager is making a mint by betting on the opposition.
SUFC rapidly becoming a basket case!
Cox must have his coaching badges, so he’ll get a job somewhere in the football pyramid, even if it’s not a managerial position.
His win percentage is around 23% at the moment. It will soon be down to 10% the way our results are going.
The longer he stays as ringmaster of this circus the lower his ratings will drop. If I were him I’d be giving it serious thought.
Failing that there’s apparently a shortage of HGV drivers! He’s already driven many of us to the brink of despair.

An anagram of Il Swan.
Everything you touch seems to be turning to ashes.
Very tactful! I’m sure there’s a better word than ashes though!
Bartonscorpion, if Cox is the “nice bloke” everyone says he is and loves the club and the town, then he’ll do the decent thing and walk, which will cost nothing.
Btw I ignored your 1-0 prediction and went for 3-0. So that’s 12 points for me, which would have been 24 if the joker button had been working!
Is it the grim reaper?
Back to back wins against Harrogate and Forest Green we see us comfortable in lower mid-table!

The living dead!
Staggering around like zombies!
Looking like 5-3-2 as predicted.

I would say looked good is stretching it!

Ask anyone who has participated in sports, be it golf, tennis, rock climbing, skiing or whatever and they’ll tell you they learnt from playing/participating alongside better players.
Our youngsters are not learning because those they are playing with are no better than they are.
As a result our squad will not develop as well as previous outfits that had the likes of Joe Murphy, Andy Crosby and Ian Baraclough in them.
We are actually stifling our home grown talent, not developing it.

When I was teaching I remember our caretaker, who was a bit of an old cynic saying to me “when I come back in the next life, I want to be a PE teacher. All they do is kick around with the kids all day!” As he looked out over the playing fields.
I reckon Cox and his coaches are pretty much glorified PE teachers. They’ll have a lesson plan for each training session, and tick off each item covered. Like any class of mixed ability pupils they won’t expect everyone to perform to the same level, just as long as they do their best, so Cox can say “we had a really good training session”.
However when it comes to tactics and motivation – well I don’t think that’s part of Saturday Club!

Get O’Neil out the club and see if we can get an able striker in with an ounce of ability.
This is precisely my beef about the recruitment. O’Neill has made just a few cameos, but I think most of us are of the opinion that he’s never going to contribute a great deal.
To get him “out the club” after less than ten games smacks of poor decision making by those in charge of recruitment.
It’s also slightly disconcerting that both O’Neill and Hackney must have been known to McMahon and we’re most probably (though we can’t be certain) recommended to Cox by him.
Baffling!
Does that mean I’ll have to go in the home end?
Ferrite, that’s because as per usual we have an unbalanced squad.
Two decent left backs is great, but not when there are weaknesses in other positions.
We either have too many (insert position) or too few. Get a run of injuries, which we always seem to do, and we’re screwed!

There’s zero chance the club will fold.
But apparently a 5/2 chance it will be non-league come May.

Watch us die like Chesterfield, Grimsby, Southend, Notts County, Wrexham, Stockport, Torquay etc?
If you don’t like the English football pyramid go support a franchise league.
So there you go, you prove my point.
You have already accepted relegation out of the EFL.
The purpose of the pyramid system is to provide an incentive to perform to your optimum. We have seen precious little of that over the past four seasons.
Anyway, the OP is not about the performance of the team. There are several other threads for that.

What is it with everyone in society wanting a reason to protest?
And what is it with everyone in society sitting back and accepting crap?
The UK is not the Conservative Party’s country it’s OUR country! We are not merely customers of Tim Martin and Richard Branson.
The same is true of Scunthorpe United.
However I do agree that at present any protest would be better held on Blackpool seafront!
Unlucky not to win 2.1,
Unlucky not to win 2-0 last weekend.
Can’t run a football team on luck alone though. It’s not a board game.
Although is does increasingly feel like a game of Monopoly!

Cox’s stats since August 2020…
P-61 W-14 D-14 L-33
Win ratio of 22.95%
Not sure if that includes yesterday, which would lower it even more.
Not great is it?

3-5-2 worked okay for Port Vale.
