No football club waits until they “can afford” to sack a manager. They sack him when they think they can’t afford not to.
No need to bang on endlessly at this point either to sack him now or support him now.
There have been enough posts on here from fans suggesting he gets the traditional 10 games to sort things out. Those posts have had enough Bru’ers adding thanks to have a fair idea that the large majority support the approach.
There are 2 or 3 calling for him to go now – same folks that were negative about the appointment so understandably still think the same. No surprise and it’s absolutely their perogative.
Not going to happen though is it? Our chairperson loves Andy, in fact my concern is it would probably take half a season of shite before she would act. Let’s hope that theory is not put to the test.Virtually everyone on here is on here because they care deeply about the club wether they ooze positivity or think Butler is the antichrist – or anywhere between the two.
Big weekend coming up. Even if we don’t get 4 or 6 points I think we all need to see a couple of performances that suggest the team has a clue what they are trying to do.

You would think we would be close to ongoing sustainability if it wasn’t having to service the Swann/Hilton parting gifts.
That is with an average level NL budget and near 5,000 home crowds.If we were fortunate enough to make the playoffs and fluke our way through them the tv money would probably make things a status quote financially in league 2 achievable.
If crowds in the NL drop to the 3,000 level, which is likely with a bottom half struggle then really bad things could be on the horizon.

There were some bits of quality here and there but pretty much they came from Beestin, Butterfield or Gale.
Everyone else should consider themselves fortunate if they get a game on Friday.

3 tough watches out of 3 but talk of Butler out after 3 games is as ridiculous as it is unlikely.
It’s all about opinions of course but I don’t want my club to be even considering sacking previously successful managers after 3 poor games. I often disagree with some of his decisions and say so on here but he has done a lot of good things and his inexperience and occasional stubbornness means he does some daft things.
However, I think he now needs to row back on the bullshit about having 24 great players and do what every successful manager does in this kind of moment. Do the basics with high energy and attitude
Pick a system that suits your squad (got to be 4-3-3) and have an honest appraisal of who are the best footballer in the positions needed for that system. Pick them and play them for a dozen games so they can gel. Forget the nullifying opposition tactics, mid game switches of formation and substitute players only if they are injured or they’re fit to drop. Impose our game on the opposition. Neither you nor your squad are clever enough for the fancy tactical stuff. Just win your battles.If we’re still playing like a bunch of confused strangers in 7 or 8 games then that’s a whole different ball game.

In the interest of balance he would probably have been a decent midfielder for us if some idiot manager hadn’t wasted him out of position.

Saturday Priory at 11:00 – that naff Mansfield Ales pub in town for a couple before Iron & Steel club while pubs were shut. Back to Paddy’s club for weekly band practice. Then off to Baths for the nights entertainment.
In great shape to play football Sunday morning without seeing you own bed (if you got lucky).Now 3 or 4 pints and I’m peeing for England.

Nearly agree WG.
Evans rather than Howe for me. Not much between them defensively or pace wise but Evans the only defender we have that can (sometimes) find a man in an Iron shirt that isn’t 10 yards square of him or behind him.
Beestin for Rose – not yet seeing what Butler sees in him as a midfielder.
Happy to have him at right back though. He’s probably the best of the five possibles.
