For me, quite a few 7/10s in a pretty good display in a truly scrappy encounter.
    Some special passing and ball-winning.

Sounded that the current Rory had a decent game.
BTW – I’m still trying to work out what is happening with Campbell?

In the days when I gave scores to players – he barely managed to get above 5/10 over a whole season.
Considering that he might have had a decent handful of excellent performances – it rather means that there were a fair few fours out of ten.
A player who could have and should have been a Championship regular, IMHO.

Congratulations to Aldershot for the guts they displayed. For many chunks of the game they outworked us.
Even so, we probably deserved the 3 points.
I liked a lot what I could see in Horton as a CB.

Evans can argue that he took some pretty heavy treatment from Boston.

That was probably one of the top 20 worst goals we have conceded in the last three seasons.

Sounded to me that the balance wasn’t right until Ewing and Beestin were introduced. Seemed that they are perhaps better than Westlake.
    Thoughts?

I am listening to H’side but I seem to have the wrong commentary. It’s not from the Attis Arena. It’s from either GP or Cod ‘ed Corner.
    Have I missed a change-back – or what?

True. The first half brought tears to the eyes and the second was not significantly better.
BUT – highly tuned pro sportsmen can often sag when: running too many races; fighting in boxing matches too close together AND play too many football matches in too short a time.
I was half expecting this last night – blame 3 games in rapid succession. (Again.)

    I saw Hartleool play York.
H’pool have a 20 year old GK on loan from Millwall – truly sublime performance by George Evans.

I’d not thought about it in quite those terms but you make a solid point DM. We do have a really decent CM – who’d have guessed?

    HLC – a good point.
This CM (+the Donny lad) – looks the business.
Mind you – I’d still never turn my nose up at signing any Bish-type CM.

I remember going to a Carlisle game by stopping off in Leeds and taking the Settle- Carlisle line to please a train-fan friend.
LONG time ago – appalling weather, horrendous playing conditions – but I think we won. I got soaked to the skin and somehow dodged pneumonia.
Anyone remember what season that might have been?

Okay, this wasn’t our best passing display of the season – but just think back how many passes went astray in the previous two seasons.
When your passing is at the dizzy heights of okay – just how do you turn it round in a higher division and be – I don’t know – 30% better with, more or less, the same players?
    Remarkable.
