I was surprised that we scored a couple today. It would be easy to blame Butler,but he can only play the players that are fit and available and those that played today are not play off material. Butler’s only sin ( in my eyes) is that he fails to acknowledge this. In public, this can be put down to defending the “Team” but in private, if he is not aware, then he is a fool. I don’t think we will be in the play off slots in the New Year, and I will have a very nervy time this winter, until we reach 50plus points. My pre season prediction was we will finish 16th, but not be in a relegation dogfight ( and at the time I felt I was being positive!)I think my £10 is looking a safe bet at the moment.

His post match interview he appears to have had a ‘debate’ with a fan.
I get him defending the team but he needs to pare back in his interaction with fans. Coming into winter with key players weeks away (Butler’s assessment) the last thing we need is a big drop off in attendances.
For me Butler needs to change his strategy in game management, he has however said he is not changing anything but you need to adapt when your best 4 players are out and the back up players are just not good enough.Mahady isn’t the answer. Clearly got lots of potential but he’s learning on the job with us.
Watson would have been hammered for 2 of the goals today and the goals conceded at Solihull and the mix up with Starbuck against Braintree.

Too many subs. Yet again the goalie gets the blame for conceding four. Not one mention of crap defenders on this match or the previous two matches. Conceded eight goals and the only comment on this site has been it was a bad back pass last week. All today it was about Boyce coming back and how he would sort it out. Pity his sorting out only last for 85 mins!!

AB stop arguing with us we are allowed an opinion as much as you are and the last 6/7 minutes of this was completely unacceptable.
We have no strength in depth we have no goalkeeper with any experience of dishing out some choice words to the guys in front of him.
We need an injection of talent but don’t have the money so maybe we really need investment and dare I suggest a bit of a coaching team shake up1 user thanked author for this post.
Altrincham will consider themselves very unlucky to go in at half time at 1-1 they should have been 2 up before we scored Denton and belehoun awful defending for first 20 mins no where near good enough 4-1 would have been fair.

They put their bodies on the line when defending especially at 3-2 we didn’t do that at any time.
But to be 2-1 up undeservedly why can’t we be like every other team and just see the game out for once, wheres the fight in the team.

What warming up did the goalies do, we were in the ground from 2,25 the only action we saw was Jones taking shots just before the team went in. Wtf are we doing with Jones in anyway, wasn’t deemed good enough pre season to sign him and yet now he’s good enough to be on the bench.
Just a reminder Butler, Fitz told you he was leaving and you needed a permanent replacement it’s not Woolworths pick a mix your running.

No proper attempt to replace Fitz. That was not a good call. It has hounded us.
Yes, he has a few problems in his game but I feel, that had he stayed, we might have had quite a few more points in the bag.
Ironically, I saw quite a few opposition GKs last season in NLN who looked substantially better than any we have used this season.2 users thanked author for this post.

Although I thought we were better than last week the same problem was clear for all (except AB) to see. He continues to praise the quality of his squad when only the “first 11” and a couple of others are good enough for this league.
Replacements for Evans are the nearest to being satisfactory but weren’t at their best yesterday. Westbrooke looks decent but a step or two down from Ewing. Roberts and Whitehall are simply irreplaceable from our current squad and probably within our current budget. (Disclaimer :- would Whitehall have scored the Carlton goal yesterday? No but he would have affected the game more, we were short of height when defending set pieces, a job Whitehall does well.) Keeper situation well covered elsewhere.

We are the main headline on fan banter it shows their last 3 goals, and an interview from Butler.
I thought he was at the game obviously he wasn’t, saying we controlled the game for the first eight or five minutes, from someone who was there and was watching I saw them running us ragged hitting the post and clearing one off the line in the first eight or five minutes whatever that means.
