The old computer glitch eh! Advertising for jobs – they should be advertising shirts for sale for Xmas, if they had the money to buy some

I think we’re surviving month to month at the minute. Wages will be a big determinant. Even if its delayed by a few hours/days like last month it is a sign of a deeper problem.

He’s probably got a £6m mortgage on it and now realises he can only get £3m for it. The only route out would be to sell to developers rather than those interested in a football club, and there would only be one way he could do that.
If it was me (and it never will be) I would just buy SUFC for a £1, let him have his land and stadium and then groundshare with Donny for a year or so whilst building a new ground with the support of the council and possibly the lakes developer (which has just been sold apparently).
All very unlikely but the only driver is to get this family as far away from SUFC as possible as quickly as possible

Swann isn’t selling. It’s as close as it’s ever been and it’s never been close.

Scunny has always played exciting attacking football under a 442, Swann’s era has been defined by each and every manager switching to 532 (352). It’s really bizarre.

Depends on the terms of this lease (if it exists). If SUFC don’t exist then no barrier for land development – that’s how he’ll benefit

Also no stock left in the shop in the run up to Christmas – do you get the feeing Swann is either skint or given up?
So the deal that was never on in the first place is off. Swann does not intend to sell – he just needed the next excuse.
Can you explain what evidence you have to tell us that the deal is off? (That is, the deal that you say was never on in the first place!!).
PS how do you know that there was no deal on the first place?
I want Swan gone as much as the next man, but all this BS is getting somewhat monotonous.
I was merely commenting on the on/off rumours and the fact Swann always appears to have an excuse for things go belly up. I have no evidence of anything –
like all others. I assumed, incorrectly, that this was quite clear in the wording; all very tongue in cheek. If its getting monotonous, don’t read the comments/twitter/social media. So the deal that was never on in the first place is off. Swann does not intend to sell – he just needed the next excuse.

All a bit convenient for Swann these rumours – close to going bust but two interested parties – wonder if Bru can ask him if has seen proof of funds yet
I doubt the lad will play for us again. Seriously question whether he’ll play football again. He’s just one of those unfortunate people who can’t seem to get a lucky turn.
Feel for him but as we’re close to going bust we have bigger concerns.2 users thanked author for this post.
Journo a Iron Fan Aidan says there is something in the bid (which bid I do not know!). Let’s hope there is some movement and get Swanns out of the club by Xmas. I would start dragging my sons back to GP 😂

Surely the rules around the community asset would kick in if any serious offers came in?

It will be a slow death – he won’t sell for footballing reasons. The only way he gets anywhere near the money he wants involves the destruction of SUFC and the sale of the land. I feel for the club’s employees, youth players, volunteers, they must see the destruction first hand .
Where is this fan director chap? Not much of a conduit really

Can’t believe she’s gone – she trained really well in the week

I really wish it was non football.
Same Les, trying to deal with the palliative position of the club is very hard but need to prepare for the disappearance of the club.

The squad and management is threadbare, we have a squad barely capable in NLN. I don’t know what to think anymore, do I prepare for life without football because this owner isn’t going to sell and he isn’t going to put any money in, nothing stopping him taking money out – we’ve hit the iceberg its just a question of when to abandon ship.

Swan fake

Lets hope the Swanns don’t have a lot of debt to service
You could tell in the last few games they were under instruction (except Maguire who was probably told ‘you can play just don’t knock anything over’) Kane looked lost and got deeper and deeper. Really dull but you can see the talent is there when we attack its just that Gareth doesn’t like to attack very often. It will be a frustrating WC

He didn’t write the debt off – he took all the assets in recompense for the money he spent on his business. He had 8/9years playing football manager loving the limelight paying silly wages and employing 10 managers all of them sacked within their contract and took on a CEO on huge salary for what reason? The club still has a debt and included in that is the EFL loan. The real money in the family stopped his fun and now we’re on the brink

Have you compared the accounts or is that just based on the reduced debt?
Don’t know what he is including whether they are in the sale, you would hope the ground and all those items are in but who can tell what Swann is up to.
One telling statement (in the accounts) was that in order to remain solvent the Coolsilk directors agreed to keep putting money in – so flip that and it would suggest we won’t be solvent without their cash input which he is actively now pursuing?
£56k tangible – hard to evaluate intangibles and even harder to sell (probably branding or something similar). However that dropped from £191k to £33k up to June 2021. Liabilities have reduced – probably written off loans – but we’re still showing a liability of (£2.3m) with fixed assets of £56k so to be solvent we need to ensure money is coming in through gate receipts. I’m struggling as to where he gets his valuation from without seeing what other assets are included in the sale (Coolsilk stuff)
Support from council could mean planning, land covenants, would not suggest for one minute we would get those millions of levelling up funds that have served us so well so far
Admin would be viable. He’s not selling the ground or anything of value so he (Coolsilk) wouldn’t lose anything. SUFC Ltd has assets of £50k ish in the last accounts and is the only thing stopping him realising the commercial value of the land. By removing all the assets from SUFC its easier to fold/disband/whatever he wants. But, wait, we have that magic lease which allows SUFC 99 or 999 years (he doesn’t remember which) use of the ground – but then he said he would give it back for free. So which one of those have we had proof of? I’d wager neither.

I fear you are right, there is no desire from Swann to keep the club afloat and most now see through his empty speak. He’s a busted flush in this town with zero credibility

Points deduction and Admin would have control of company to sell company
deal with creditors etc. Coolsilk own land so would not be under Admin- so he would charge whatever he liked – despite saying they would be able to use ground/transferred for free – we all know that’s not happening. The only sure thing is the best interests of Swanns and not the club will be his main motive. The long term hope is Admin – somebody buys the club for £1 and moves it to a new ground using £6m to build somewhere
else with support of the council.6 users thanked author for this post.
