It might if some had held off signing in case we ended up in the NL. Let’s hope the reported non-communication between the manager and chief scout was a one off and Cox has at least some influence over signings. A bit more quality over quantity should be the way forward although we’ll still be saddled with some players unlikely to make the match day squad. Let’s hope we don’t sign any more!

What will acting like spoilt brats achieve CT?
Grow up and support the team you claim to follow.
I’ll say it one more time you reap what you sow. People like you think they’re blameless when in fact they are very much part of the problem.Calling me names and insulting me does not disguise the fact that you have still failed to answer the question posed by several people.
What will be negative and pessimistic achieve?
Next season is a whole different ball game.I asked:- “Other than that we’re still in the FL give us something to be positive about so that we can all be as optimistic and happy as you are.”
Deereyme66 asked:- “What will being optimistic achieve? Give me something to be optimistic about and I might be.”
Any chance you have answers or is it time for you to disappear again?

You continue to wallow in self pity.
Grimsby alienated their owner and look how that ended.
You reap what you sow.
Positivity breeds positivity.Up the Iron!

That was a shooting boycott mick.
But Cox chose Will Swann to be his chief scout. (Allegedly) You’d think that would indicate similar ideas of the type of player and level of ablity that is required.
You reap what you sow. Remember that.
We’re not the farmer, just the fertiliser.
Particularly as I believe he was appointed mainly to oversee our move to a new stadium, our return to the Championship and negotiate player contracts.

Foundations for the hotel?
I don’t think I could do more than 10 minutes (5 in each half) so probably best to look elsewhere.
(I would be giving 100% for those 10 minutes though.)2 users thanked author for this post.
“Either way Peter Swann will have a very clear view of how we, the supporters really feel about what he is doing; and most importantly, in a way that he wouldn’t be able to argue with no matter how hard he might try to do so.”
You’re assuming that he cares Bucks, I wish I shared your optimism.

Cox will regard two 2-0 defeats as a success if we stay up on GD, so expect an even more defensive approach for the last two games. Can he find 6 fit defenders for Saturday as 5 clearly isn’t enough.

“We’ve had a good chat with the players yet again but there are some disappointed people in that dressing room.”
Disappointed that the season isn’t over and their contract expired?
You can tell us that Neil (again and again) but we know what we see!3 users thanked author for this post.
“That is a total of 13 losses in two runs, scoring 8 goals and conseeding 40, and we still have him in charge of our team, I think that we are well overdue a reason why he is still employed??????”
Because he does as he’s told.

New business plan mate, sustainable future, what can go wrong?
Just checked out SUFC Twitter again:-

Positive slant 3-4-3
Less positive 3-5-2
What we all think 5-4-11 user thanked author for this post.
Don’t they play rugby on Newport’s pitch? Could suit our lump the ball forward game and be bobbly enough to make our wayward passing look accurate. Sadly won’t help our wayward shooting, if we bother to shoot that is!
We’ll be asleep by 7.00 instead of 7.30?

Which is why he won’t be here next season!
However, although he’s a player I like, ( not as much as les ) his end product does not bear close examination. There was talk a few months ago about possible players of the season,
“Loft a shoe in” and “Gilliead easily L1 standard” for example.
Anybody got any thoughts now?“After all, since 2013, what has actually improved at Glanford Park?”
Possibly the easiest question ever posed on Bru?

April 25, 2021 at 4:07 pm in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #205464Possibly either:-
1. They love playing for Scunthorpe so much that they couldn’t bear to leave even temporarily, or
2. They think they’re too good for the NL, or maybe
3. Nobody wanted them.April 25, 2021 at 11:04 am in reply to: At what point do we consider the manager is the problem? #205438I think taking the new contracts off the table if they’re still unsigned is a reasonable, positive and wholely acceptable stance by the chairman. IMO many of the current onfield problems have been caused by the manager continuing to pick the players concerned and expecting them to be bothered.
I think you underestimate the chairman IITB. Surely the smart move would be to keep Cox, sign cheap players in May/June/July/August and then sack Cox so that he can be blamed for the dross that we’re likely to sign and next seasons potential disaster.
But Cass, what makes you think that Cox will have a say in who gets brought in during the Summer
He won’t barton, but if he’s still here when they’re signed he can take the flak if/when they turn out to be useless. Most of last summers signings were made when we were without a manager so the chairman had to take the blame. I can’t see him letting that happen again.
Post match interview predictable with one or two new excuses.
“I thought we got in some good areas in the first 10 minutes”
And the other 80 Neil?
” they had half a chance that they turned into a goal with a midfield runner”
Interesting idea, have we thought about trying it?
“The second goal was really poor.” Again.
” but we lacked quality and belief” Again
” We are a bit leggy at the moment” Again.
“Newport on Tuesday night to focus on now
Same focus as the last few games?” I suppose it goes to show just how much contempt the club has for its fans right now!”
That’s something else that hasn’t changed Daz. I’ve felt that the Club cared nothing for me and other supporters even before “Morongate.”

Quite right MKI, nothing else he could say. The problem is he says similar things every week and, sadly, I fully expect he’ll be saying it again come Saturday.

“Onaraise, McGahay and Taft have had to be thrown in there too quickly and have all played sh!te since Rory’s return.”
Because they’re not fully fit or because they’re nervous about what’s behind them?
