Many might suggest Peter Swann.
Ronnie Moore has been out of the game for years hasn’t he? Not a good idea. Whoever we get (if we get anybody) will have to be desperate for a job IMO.
They can certainly be beaten, not by us though.

Bizarre team selection again. Cox quote:-
“”We also had a lot of illness. Myles (Hippolyte) managed to get off his sick bed, while Beest (Alfie Beestin) has also been struggling and that’s why he didn’t start. Ross (Millen) wasn’t well enough to play, while there were a couple of others this morning who have got through the game.”So Hippolyte, Beestin and a couple of others were in the squad although not fully fit. Bit of a kick in the teeth for Perry, Wilson & Hallam isn’t it?
If Wood is fully fit and still behind some of these then he’s a waste of a loan.2 users thanked author for this post.
I’m finding it very easy.

Home game, league leaders, trained well, 5 at the back, we know what they’ll do, (we won’t be able to stop them though) keep it tight, hope for a lucky penalty. Well it worked once. We live in hope – it’s all we’ve got!

Indeed. As I said earlier, he’s playing for time.
Keep stalling until the January transfer window when he can shuffle the pack to make it look like something is being done.
Could have had a career in politics. Especially under the present shower! But we’ll still have a limit on squad size and only be able to sign the same quality as we have now unless the EFL loan is repaid won’t we?
You were right first time – a bunch of coconuts.

So many posters on here who need serious help.
This board is crazy.
I’m out.So you’ve finally given up trying to support the unsupportable, justify the unjustifiable and seeing the positives when there are none. It’s taken some time but you’ll feel better for it.

” we are playing the league leaders so it’s not about the result it’s a performance we need.”
We might need to vote on that!!
Play well & lose versus play crap & win, I know my preference at the moment.2 users thanked author for this post.
One last thing, when you have thrown enough fuel on the fire you will be even more gutted when you realise you’ve helped contribute to the destruction of the club without a plan b in sight.
That’s the first time you’ve criticised the chairman, well done on seeing the light.

Swann has publicly said he’d sell the club, let’s see how much interest there is.
My guess is zero!
The amount of people who think people will be queuing up to buy SUFC is truly baffling. I didn’t realise there are so many people who are so naive/thick.You are making things up to suit your argument. There are plenty of posters who are begging Swann to sell. NOBODY has suggested there will be a queue to buy, if I’ve got that wrong please reference the relevant posts, thank you.

What do you honestly expect him to say??
You have the worst record of any Scunthorpe manager in recent history. The players clearly have no confidence in your ability to manage them. You’re a nice guy but you’re sacked.
Will that do?4 users thanked author for this post.
Not the most interesting part of the statement IMO.
1. “The Harrogate match was one of the poorest I have watched”
2. The biggy – “I am working on a project on our site which would ease that pressure on us, without risking the football club and has meant a temporary move of the ground and assets to its parent company whilst we work on this and I can assure everyone that once all this has been completed, the ground and training facilities will be back in Scunthorpe United Ownership.”1 user thanked author for this post.
The Club would have no ground.
No.
Yes.
See how easy answering questions is, why do you never bother?1 user thanked author for this post.
Swann has actually hired some very good managers, it’s just a shame
That they weren’t allowed to manage as they would have liked. Could be why they’ve been successful elsewhere maybe?
From the Club Twitter account:-
“Scunthorpe United FC
@SUFCOfficial
· 5 Oct
🏟 Scunthorpe United can confirm a Shareholder Meeting will be held in the Sir Ian Botham Executive Lounge at the Sands Venue Stadium on Monday, 22nd November from 6pm until 8pm”
#UTI #IRONNo other firm dates given, maybe if not enough indicated attendance the chairman didn’t fancy a 1 to 1.
So bloody change needed from top to bottom.I was there the atmosphere was worst I have encountered home or away and I go back along time. This situation just cannot carry on somebody change it and change it quickly
There is only one ‘somebody’ who can change anything and, as his apparent 10 year plan seems to be almost complete, that looks unlikely.

We’re rubbish. That’s football, deal with it.
What do you think are the reasons for that? Somebody suggested that supporters getting behind the team would make a difference but it didn’t seem to work did it?
Let’s look at the reasons for our situation shall we?
1. The supporters
2. Covid
3. Injuries
4. NL council
5. The supporters
6. Covid
7. The manager
8. The coaches

Don’t think I’ve missed anything.1 user thanked author for this post.
We need someone who is intolerant to lackadaisical effort and who will gladly put juniors in when more senior players do not deliver.
Sadly les you have not highlighted the one vital quality any Iron manager must have. Yes sir.

Hey, look at the positives. We drew the second half.
Looks like UTI99 has changed his user name.

Less likely than Cox playing attacking football?
October 8, 2021 at 8:13 pm in reply to: Harrogate away, time to show our fury as supporters? #215099Only bothered about what used to be our club.
October 8, 2021 at 7:47 pm in reply to: Harrogate away, time to show our fury as supporters? #215094It’s not their fault they don’t pay the mortgage/bills. They don’t have enough income to cover them.
Maybe they’ll just have to rack up a lot of credit card debt until a buyer is found. Two questions in my last post and, as usual, you failed to answer. Here’s another. Whose fault is it then? It’s called living beyond your means, buying a house you can’t afford and prioritising luxuries over essentials. Sound familiar? How much were the architects fees for the new stadium, how much were consultations with constructors, how much to pay off managers, how much on fees and wages for players we hardly saw because successive managers didn’t want them. Not owning the ground leads me to ask – what exactly is there to attract a buyer?

October 8, 2021 at 7:01 pm in reply to: Harrogate away, time to show our fury as supporters? #215089If they don’t pay the mortgage the house will be repossessed. If they don’t pay utility bills then they’ll be left without power. How is this relevant? Surely you’re not suggesting your hero is not paying the players?

Who are you wanting Swann to sell the club to?
Two very important questions that you people seem to ignore greatly!!This from the poster who disappears for days when asked any important question that challenges his blinkered views. Unbelievable.
2 users thanked author for this post.
I would ask the two of you, and other shareholders considering non-attendance, to think again.
We run the risk of ” well I gave shareholders the chance to express their views and they weren’t interested” Another opportunity to deflect blame on to another innocent target. I hold out little hope of any ultimate benefit to supporters as a result of the meeting but significant shareholder attendance followed by lack of any subsequent action correctly identifies where the responsibility lies.3 users thanked author for this post.
Hurst has found us some real gems that could easily play league football. One in particular is Erico Sousa, plucked him from Darlington, he’s unplayable.
Yes we went to Darlington too. We got Tyrone O’Neil, did you get first pick?
Some of O’Neil’s performances have apparently led to the manager thinking he’s ‘unplayable’! -
