LEAGUE TABLE
Pos Pl GD Pts
20 Colchester United 44 -18 47
21 Scunthorpe United 43 -18 47
22 Barrow 43 -7 46
————————————–
23 Southend United 44 -30 41
24 Grimsby Town 43 -29 40REMAINING FIXTURES
Colchester United (DDLWWL)
Sat 1st May SALFORD CITY (H) 8th WWLDWW
Sat 8th May Tranmere Rovers (A) 5th DDLDWWTough run in for Colchester against clubs chasing play-off places. On Saturday they face an ‘in form’ Salford, and finish with a tough away match at Tranmere. I think they’ll lose on Saturday, and get a draw at Tranmere. Final points total:48
Scunthorpe United (DLDLLL)
Tue 27th Apr Newport County (A) 7th WDDLWD
Sat 1st May Bradford City (A) 14th DWLLLL
Sat 8th May STEVENAGE (H) 15th WDLLLWOurs looks on paper the easiest run in however, our current form is shocking. We’ll likely lose on Tuesday, and despite our dreadful form, I think we’ll get a draw against Bradford, and probably lose against Stevenage. Final points total: 48
Barrow (DDWLLL)
Tue 27th Apr Forest Green Rovers (A) 6th LLLWDD
Sat 1st May SOUTHEND UNITED (H) 23rd LDDDLW
Sat 8th May Exeter City (A) 9th DWLDDDTough run in form Barrow and a crucial game against Southend.I think they’ll lose to FGR on Tuesday, beat Southend on Saturday and lose against Exeter. Final points total: 49
Southend United (LDDDLW)
Sat 1st May Barrow (A) 22nd DDWLLL
Sat 8th May NEWPORT COUNTY (H) 7th WDDLWDNeed to beat Barrow on Tuesday however, I think they will lose both matches. Final points total: 41
Grimsby Town (DDLWLW)
Tue 27th Apr Exeter City (A) 9th DWLDDD
Sat 1st May PORT VALE (H) 12th WWWDWW
Sat 8th May Cambridge United (A) 2nd WDLWWLDespite their recent form I just cannot see the Cods winning all three remaining matches. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them beat Exeter, however I think they will lose to both Port Vale and Cambridge: Final points total: 42
So, my end of season prediction is; Southend 24th Place, Grimsby 23rd Place, Scunthorpe 22nd Place, Colchester 21st Place, Barrow 20th Place.

April 26, 2021 at 3:06 pm #205501Hope you are more or less correct Daz.
The most suspect part of your reasoning is us getting a point anywhere at the moment and of course we always get bullied and spanked at Newport even when we have a good side.
One point for us or 1 defeat for Southend and Cods and we don’t really care about the rest.

April 26, 2021 at 3:57 pm #205508I’ve got to admit I am not trying to think about it because it is making me nervous, I have said for weeks we are relying on other teams and this has gone on for a few years now with players giving up in the last 3 months, so a lot of this has to be put down to the Chairman and I guess a lot to do with new contracts, it came to light with the Dawson / Bishop dip in form in one of the failed promotion bids and has just carried on.

April 26, 2021 at 5:18 pm #205514A reasonable set of predictions, but I think most likely we won’t get another point but will stay up by virtue of Southend and the Cods not getting maximum points from their remaining games. We should be grateful that there aren’t a couple more games otherwise we would be doomed, this shameful lot have been on the beach, playing truant or what ever for weeks.

April 27, 2021 at 9:30 am #205534Sarfend to finish bottom
The once mighty Iron relegated
The Cods survive on goal difference
Colchester 4th bottom
Barrow 5th bottom.
God I hope like my prediction league forecasts I’m miles out.

April 27, 2021 at 9:58 am #205535You really see Grimsby winning their last 3 games?
April 27, 2021 at 10:06 am #205537Aye, in my nightmares!
April 27, 2021 at 10:24 am #205538I would actually like Grimsby to stop up, it’s more fun having your rivals in the same division, but I know who I’ll choose if it comes down to them or us!

April 27, 2021 at 11:21 am #205541Barrow to lose their last three games and Cods to win two and draw one would do it.
April 27, 2021 at 4:13 pm #205574Forest Green no win in 9, they beat us. Walsall no away win in 9 they beat us. Mansfield no home win in 5 they beat us. Hours and hours without a shot on target. See no reason for us to get another point this season.
Summed up by Spencer’s interview on website “. . . we need to give Newport nothing on Tuesday and hope to try to get a goal.” That’s our new found tactic hope
We finish with 47
Southend are doomed
Cods sadly i see them getting 3 wins or even 7 points and catch us on goal diff
Barrow will get the 1 point to overtake us tonight.
Swann sells the club for pennies as its national league puts the rent up on the ground and makes a killing on the land1 user thanked author for this post.
April 27, 2021 at 6:25 pm #205590Bloody hell iron64, have you always had this optimistic outlook running through your life? 😂😂😂
April 27, 2021 at 7:09 pm #205597goal difference advantage disappearing by the minute – nothing negative just realism.
April 27, 2021 at 7:46 pm #205615Reality check. If we get relegated we will not get back in the league. Ever. In my opinion.

April 27, 2021 at 8:25 pm #205621any left who thinks we wont go down. Cods 6 shots on target so far, heady stuff
April 27, 2021 at 8:54 pm #205627Codheads down. Shame. We should be safe but tonight’s drubbing means we still have to sweat a little!
April 27, 2021 at 8:55 pm #205628how lucky can we get – Cods throw it away
April 27, 2021 at 9:03 pm #205631Listened to Cods’ game.
I had never listened to Tonder for any sustained period before. He is so desperately poor beyond all belief that I am truly shocked.
Descriptive powers 1/10. Continuity 0/10 – 8 second gaps between utterances. Incredible!
Not saying which team was in possession? – 10/10.
Dead air – 10/10.
Learning names of opposition players? – 2/101 user thanked author for this post.

April 27, 2021 at 10:50 pm #205668Anyone been on “The Fishy” yet?
They are basically licking their wounds and complaining about the ref costing them a win tonight but in the main they are admitting the game has been up for a while. They obviously had a little chuckle at us getting thumped at Newport but the biggest laugh was the Exeter radio commentators apparently saying Newport had beaten Sunderland 4-0, how shit these local radio commentators are sometimes. Just a thought, wasn’t it 57 years ago ( 63/64 season ) that we and the Cods got relegated from the old league 2 ( now Championship ) would be rather ironic if we both got relegated into non league this time around!!!! Keep believing people.
April 28, 2021 at 1:37 pm #205735Revised prediction
Cods,,……… Down
S.u.f.c…. down on goal difference.
S.u.f.c…..stay up on goal difference.
Colchester stay up.1 user thanked author for this post.
April 28, 2021 at 1:45 pm #205736Cox will regard two 2-0 defeats as a success if we stay up on GD, so expect an even more defensive approach for the last two games. Can he find 6 fit defenders for Saturday as 5 clearly isn’t enough.

April 30, 2021 at 1:43 pm #205978Cass, can we actually get more defensive.
