That question you need to ask someone else CT – from what I hear he is fine and following instructions.

6 on the bench – 5 with little 1st team experience.

Now 6 injured !! Not bad for 3 games in for us.

Strange thing is Mr Cox wanted to sign him seeing him a bit of training and possibly 1 game.

Don’t think he is registered hence no squad number, although Lewis Butroid wasn’t registered for the league last season either – we have a history of strange decisions.

    Always rated Charlie.

Managerial decisions led to where we ended up and after 4 years of development an idiotic decision was made and mediocrity was retained and Charlie moved for a small fee. The rest is history everyone has done well except ? Yes you are right Scunthorpe United

Not in the championship now but were last season – but Josh Kayode fits all the other hints.

I think the move to GP was out of necessity. Birse did it as a loss leader to try and capture the out of town purpose built stadia which came about around the time of Hillsboro.

I haven’t met one iron fan who wouldn’t swap it for OSG. It was a fantastic place to watch football. Every one of my mates who doesn’t support Scunny has a story about the OSG. I reckon 80-90% of the town went at some point in their lives to OSG

Became a bigger loss leader than I think you realise. When measuring to establish the pitch walls they read the plans as yards. It should have been metres therefore so much longer and wider. But it wasn’t spotted and they had built the walls and the steps (standing or seating) had been poured. When spotted it was way too late to change – cost them dear.

I note abusive words are becoming more prevalent. Any chance we can get back to polite language, abuse does prove an argument actually weakens it.

    Thank you.

The ’60s thing was also affected by the Bribery Scandal that hit football.

Different ends for our traitors – jail, some moved on couldn’t prove guilt but analysis showed problems. And gradually we declined. Now !! say no more.

16,000 views on this thread but only 20 entrants – very disappointing!

As you say CT it is a shame. It makes a huge difference for Matt and £15 for a season of fun and frustration is not a lot. Come on people its not too late.

I would have thought that he reads some of the posts on this board. So it could be worth telling him directly.

So come on Swanny, get your bloody finger out!

    UTBI

Of course he reads them – ask all those that have received Solicitors letters !!

The point I was making about pugh is the fact pugh is not a fullback,we signed millen for that role but should have signed 2 proper rightbacks not just the one,we got Thompson to challenge omalley for the left back role but only one rightback a strange decision in my humble opinion, so if you are going to use players as makeshift fullbacks it’s not fair on them, hornshaw played rightback last season and its not his normal midfield position just like pugh and look what happened to him he’s now at Gainsborough I believe, opposition teams aren’t stupid they see our weakness and play on it.

They do and judging by the post match interview with humbersides Mike White the buck stops with Mr Cox, it was like a re-run of all the interviews last season for goodness sake.

ps: Lewis Butroid didn’t get a game last season and then released, anyone telling me the replacements have been an improvement ? We got rid of Kyle Wootton – are his replacements an improvement and the best decision of our managerial experts that after spending 4 years developing a 19yr old CB we then sell for next to nothing and how many replacements have we signed since then that are nowhere near good enough !

    Look where we are !

So yet again someone who was played out of position gets criticised – Tom Pugh is not a FB !
Doesn’t that sound familiar Hornshaw got sacrificed and no thanks for doing the job !!

Last season Jai Rowe was injured but this season he isn’t so why didn’t he start ?
At Left Back why didn’t Mason O’Malley start ?

The managers after match he said Green wasn’t well so why was he even out there ?

Long season ahead I fear for you.

    Indeed. 2019/20 average home gates..

    Notts County 5.210
    Stockport County 4.342
    Wrexham AFC 4.057
    Chesterfield FC 3.670

    Scunthorpe United 3.546

Our gates reflect the interest shown by Mr Swann to the opinions and ideas offered by the supporters. We have all seen the on field decay of pitch ability and after three successful seasons the target must have been achieved whereby so many supporters have given up.

Last season the managers after match interview that followed defeat after defeat summed it up. I didn’t go yesterday so will not comment on players performances but the manager saying players did what they wanted and ignored instructions sums it up ! No one is in charge and that is after 1 game !!

Best wishes to all supporters sincerely hope you leave the ground with a smile and boosted optimism.

In just over 24 hours from this post I will be able to read comments & opinions.

Team selection – nothing to do with me as I will not be there. But someone asked about Cam Wilson left or right. In the U18s and the few U23 games he played on the right. Early days for him, let him learn his trade where he is comfortable. But he will not let you down.

Any ideas people suggest are totally ignored, why – because someone doesn’t like it if people are proved right !!

I expect no difference this season. Statements made this season already make no sense regarding the playing side.

    Best to the fans.

He is right here Sanfran, hope you are ok yourself pal, have you got your season ticket or are you also wanting a break??, I am not bothering with a season ticket, but will attend a game or two during the season, but will not commit to the full season, but after 13 years in that I32 Cluggy stand seat, it will be a big change for me, but the past three seasons have been a real tester for all Scunny fans, and for now Sanfran, enough is enough, but hope to see you some time, so take care and good luck to you and all remaining supporters.

It is nice to see a few of my (friends) ha ha!, are missing me, but I have not been on the Forum much, simply because I have not a lot to say really, take care guys and lets hope for a good season!!!!!!

Pleased to hear from you BS. No season ticket for me – said I would not and will not attend another game while Peter Swann is in control. Do you remember his words at that 1st fans forum where he said the club would never be in debt ? That should he leave the club would be in a stronger position ?

Anyway – PREDICTION LEAGUE – you doing it this season ?

I hope you get to see a lot more of Cameron Wilson, he was impressive when he first appeared in the U18s – he was from the U16s at the time.

KDT’s head & shoulders pic has disappeared, at the moment just his name. Another excellent 2 year contract awarded – how much of the £11 million debt came from that inspired signing ??

To those who haven’t joined yet – we miss you. The club might not be interested in the fans YOUR FORUM is. Matt needs as many as possible to help in the operational costs.

    ‘lesgeo’

Watched Cameron Wilson in his 1st year in the U18s and when he joined the U23 squad.
He always had that commitment and competitive edge. Is not a ‘dirty’ player but he he will stand his ground. Loves to attack players can shoot with either foot plus takes good and on target free kicks.

I would hope that those who are going this season get quite a few chances to see him. Other teams give chances and bigger clubs get to see how they cope before making a move. Tom Pugh will always give you 100%.

Sorry I didn’t make myself clear enough, the 6 or so to go out on loan are to make room for the 3 or 4 still needed to strengthen the matchday squad. Possibly those 3 triallists plus a keeper and we’ll be OK.

I think 1 trialist may be a loan player, they are still listed as in their U18 squad with photo.
