Pretty nasty kit and tedious kit launch vid IMO (no doubt our fishy friends will love it) .. no way filmed in Cleethorpes as not an oily patch or dog turd in sight AND THE TIDE IS IN.
On subject of food … Harry Haddock chips n mushy peas for me lathered in Sarsons twas very nice ..BUT alas not a patch on those in Blighty places like Whitby and dare i say Steeles in Cleggy if still open.
Wonder why his contract was not renewed or maybe he rejected terms, anybody know that?
Salford have just been bought out by Sir David of Beckingham and Co so maybe they gonna splash the cash and were just clearing the out ov contract dead wood.
Matty Lund could do a good job for us , as could ex Cod Jake Eastwood if it happens.
Sounds to me like a loads of balls !! ..
Will it help to stop time wasting ?? we experienced plenty of that during our NLN time with some ala Alfreton and Buxton being masters of the art.
Suppose its just how the game is going ..what next substituted players being interviewed as they come off the pitch …oh hang on a mo
Not a triallist but i read on SM hat Jake Eastwood is linked to a move to Scunny … EX Codhead keeper ..seems quite a few of our fishy friends were sad to see him released after he regained fitness following a collision with the goal post at Carlisle 6 months out with injury..some cod fans rated him others not so much.
Thoughts anyone ??
Beck not in the picture? Still injured, retired or moved?
Well spotted Cass .. he really is surplus to requirements now can you see him getting a start in many games, nowt against the bloke but.
Be interested to learn the reason of his omission from the image…maybe at the docs.CD x 1 if MK stays x 2 if he leaves
Why would we need 5 centre backs? Agree with the rest though.
Assuming Max K has gone , Evans Boyce New guy Jean B .. is 3 .. so IMO 1 more needed.
As mentioned
Keeper
RB x 1
Hard as nails MF x 1
CD x 1 if MK stays x 2 if he leavesThen we be ready to rock for a top 10 NL finish rather than a mid table or relegation scrap.
Must say all in all been pleased with the signings to date so well done to those responsible.

Scouting/ Management team appears to have had a good look around for new recruits and appear to be planning for the future as well as next season.
I wonder if Campbell will be given a chance to prove himself he’s had a year with Mussy and Fitz so would expect to be ready for first team chance.
If Max has gone will need a central defender if not twoWithout trawling through SM .. re defense
left back Horton Denton
Right Back Starbuck and ? … No cover or maybe Scales ?
CD Evans Boyce and ?That looks deliberate.
Deliberate tut tut cass
Its the way i tell em ..as Frank Spencer used to say.
Very good signing IMO .. i recall him being a stand out and consistent performer for Buxton and hopefully will more than make up for Clunan leaving.
I hope this is a turning point in his career ..dare i say a Southfork on the road back to the EPL.
Boom Boom as Basil Fawlty used to say.QUALITY KEEPER NEXT PLEASE .. and a central defender
** Will Evans for the club captain and the makings of a nice looking unit.
well spotted was just checking your all awake and thinking clearly …
GK, CB and DMF are the only positions to be filled. Where will he play? Denton back to LB? Hard to see where he’ll be a regular starter.
Tiz a bit conjested up front so he might be played same as Fadera last season .. super sub ??
‘So many souless grounds but Grimsby ain’t one of them’
Really?
Agree it’s regularly full of arse-souls
THATS A CRACKER as Willy Carson used to say !!
Disclaimer ..i admit to knowing 2 Codhead fans and class them as fishy friends neither are arsesouls , i must of been lucky To meet the only two i suppose. (Richy who posts on here seems ok so maybe there are 3)
Make that 4 … Hayden Hackney on the cusp of a big money move to the EPL .. West Ham leading the way to get him but also Palace n Man U in the mix .. was he really that good ??
First choice keeper required.
1 centre back – 2 if Maxi has gone with 1 being a starter.
2 midfielders needed. 1 holding player with physical presence and one left sided with a bit of pace.
One of the above outfield players needs to be able to deliver quality right footed deadballs. If Clunan was the best we had then nobody in the current squad is up to scratch.
Well said .. according to some fans on FB the high profile “big name” signings will be in early July … we live in hope.
With a few exceptions the video clips of training are from the waist down. Does that mean there are “triallists” that might be recognisable or that somebody we’d like to be there (Maxi) isn’t? Or both.
All this secrecy surrounding who is at the club as possible signings , loans or on trial is all a bit daft , do other clubs piss about like this or is it just Scunny im not seeing it on SM vids of players reporting back and training at other places.
FRom Bolton newspaper article today .. Eze has joined Scunny on a 1 yr loan deal and has opted to play for Nigeria so if selected im assuming he would be away to play in the ACN

Close season rather a tepid transfer market and not even a glimpse of a new kit design means nowt to debate , comment or whinge about…im sure things will liven up soon.
On a happy ending note i did treat my taste buds and aging body to a smashing Sunday Roast, a few beverages and a soapy massage yesterday almost made me forget therz no footy at the moment and that my Thai team are being kicked out the TFL.

sad news as my local Thai club for live footy Nong Bus Pitchaya FC are looking at expulsion from Thai league 2 due to late and non payments of players during their relegation from the TPL last season which saw Ebo Eisa come n go like a fart in the wind and he has since moved and playing in Bolivia according to my Thai buddy so it may be Belarus or another place beginning with B.
Either way a 10 million baht fine (200,000 quid) must be paid and a ban on signings so im guessing its curtains for the pink chickens as the owner has done a WHAM and pulled all his funding.Arr it was only a matter of time before bu11shit like this came in … what next access to the players toilets and them having a dump.
Hoping for a home game to KO the season so im sticking with Tamworth @ AAGP
As a long time exec season ticket holder and a supporter of the club in more ways than just attending games, I haven’t and won’t be renewing my season ticket or supporting the club in any way whilst 2 of the current owners are current owners.
who clarify
Dubem Eze is seen training with players today on the club website so he could be the next announcement.

Seeing as my old school got a mention…
There used to be a few really tough teachers a Foxhills, some better than others. My arch nemesis was Spearsy, I heard that he was still there over twenty years after I left.
I went to Foxhills…left circa 1980-81
Spearsy was the tall fella .. other notables

No fan votes on kit options just who is making the final decision?
My guess is Matt Roberts.
Quite possibly thats why i posed the question just who does choose the design etc maybe a joint BovD decision.
i would much rather speed up the new kit launch then salivate over the latest offering being flogged an SUFC tagged bamboo thermos flask WTFThere’s not been a huge amount of activity this close season in the NL.
Yes NL has been slow with regard to player signings ..the NLN has seen more activity KLT alone completed their 11th yesterday.
More action at AAGP would be most welcome especially a keeper and beefy midfielder a must.
Slocombe’s not coming back…

Thats a relief

I do tend to agree with AWG on this .. the club has been piss poor for donkeys years on getting the new kits sorted .. blaming covid , Hilton and a yearly change of kit suppliers.
No fan votes on kit options just who is making the final decision? .. seems most other clubs have their apparel already on the shelves whilst the mighty Iron dawdle.Pleased for Barrows and well done SUFC for standing by the lad.
So that just leaves Beestin rumoured to be signing a new deal and Max K who hasnt been talked about much so far.???IMO we still need another minimum 4 in at least
3 outfield and a keeper, missed out on Hawkins hes gone to Curzon. -
