As mentioned on another thread IMO AB does not have a clue on his best starting 11 or formation for Tamworth YET.

Might get slagged for saying this by some AB ball lickers but im firmly of the opinion he AB doesnt have a scooby doo as to his preffered set up or starting 11 as unlike last year he has too many choices… yes get minutes in legs pre season but the raft of changes in the final fixture before the season kicks off compounds my view ..its ok having a great squad but forming them into a team unit is not easy and AB is still relatively inexperienced despite his success last season.

IMO the only players guaranteed to start at Tamworth are Roberts , Evans and Ewing TIME WILL TELL

Excellent signing .. natural RB but i think he also can drop in CD if required…gives 100% and likes to get stuck in. Hope his injury late last season is totally sorted and pleased to see the lad got his POF medal from James Moody all be it presented in BnQ

Whilst i remain split on my view of both home and away shirts and the jury is still out im more bothered about whats inside the shirt and how then knit as a team unit, yes its a huge part of the commercial side of the SUFC business but for me they could play in claret n blue tatty sacks and wear flowery hats so long as they play entertaining progressive WINNING footy.

IMO squad looking better after Rose signing but still a tad unbalanced and very concerned about the 2 keepers we appear to be “happy” to start the season with.

A combative holding midfielder be a good addition, though still got a worrying eye on CD ..Evans and Jean B should start with Boyce on bench but an injury would leave us short in that area.

There’s a big difference between paying £10 for life and £10 a month. How many of that 1200 would / could do it? I reckon about 50%. Still nae bad though.

IFA Fresh out ov a soapy, i am retiring very soon n handing over the bizz to my lad and could by buy shares or even a director out but why the fook should i ?
i may have more time to post on SM .. even visit Gunness the place i was spawned, also GPAA and my local town ?

My point is IMO from dat 1 this Unity Bollocks is all about chest puffing fookers like Maw who are just trying to undermine the Trust.

    Maw means More ..
    lets summerize ?
club welcoming unity pics on website etc et blowing off Trust who played a massive part in saving the club, maybe the BovD want a load of YE Smen to get further share issues and votes over the line .

lets wait n see but for now my SUFC assistance via any means has ceased which is sad being a supporter in 1980 albeit overseas since 2000.

Jerry is gone nudged to the side perhaps as offered little other than vacuuming and collecting balls ..

i would not give the Unity group the steam off one of my early morning shits ..IMO from day 1 its been an agenda of Maw n Co to over run the Trust and become the clubs main ” group ” with this load of bollocks unity tag , plus suspect Stu Maw in Nipplegate (not forgotten) hes a wrongurn?

i am swaying to the way of AWG in thinking the club are talking to piss out of the very supporter that bailed them out .. other Micheele n Roj im not sure theres much unity other than for monetary gain… i dont trust any ov them after the near Fc xxxxx hidden gi.

To the footy AB has 10 games to get this unbalanced bunch to gel .. I WISH HIM WELL

IMO not sure if AB even has a scooby doo what his best starting 11 will be come Tamworth .. the squad is so unbalanced with defense and midfield being over looked with regard to close season signings .. can see us scoring plenty but conceding more.

Only after fan revolt, which the board were clearly massively disappointed by. If everyone stayed quiet they would have went full steam ahead, never forget that!

Indeed ..lest we forget as it was close to a done deal until scuppered by THE FANS

Try like me and not to give the club a penny you don’t have to, you know it makes sense.

Whilst this smacks of cutting ones nose off to spite your face after reading this latest news from the Trust i am starting to think similarly ..even though not based in the UK i have found ways to assist the club alas i did decide to cease after the FC10000 plan and its secrecy which was only thwarted by fan uproar… since then all we ever hear from the club are happy clapping soundbites and for the most part internal goings on and lets say important issues the fans should know about are kept under wraps.
The BovD should cast their minds back when the begging bowl was out to pay wages and buy STs n Merch etc as it seems now things have improved fans are being treated like mushrooms … kept in the dark n fed just the right amount of sh8t to keep them alive.

IMO the notion its the “fans club” is a load of twaddle.

I see no mention of this Trust idea on the actual club website but at least we all got to wish Mcatee the codhead traitor happy birthday.

Ffs all you need to know is what time the KO of the 1st game is so you can decide whether to go or not..You don’t need anything else, some player updates might be good but that’s all you may need.If you have a real life that is.

There’s a big difference between ‘need to know’ and ‘would like to know’. Engagement with fans is crucial, making them feel part of the club. Nobody expects confidentiality to be breached but information on players fitness for example would surely be of more interest than the birthday of players few remember.

Exactly Cass .. fans being kept in the loop is not a lot to ask yet more recently (6 months ago including the 000XXXX SHARE SECRET) the club seem to have gone very quiet… except for selling STs and Merch.
I do like question of the week but you are correct the ex players birthdays are a waste of band width.

On the pitch ..long hard season ahead with what is a very unbalanced squad at the moment , looking great attacking wise but defense is worrying ..and the keeper issue remains even after signing Watson

Can’t have been that bad – Wrexham, Donny and York were all more than happy to have him.

Look at their league standings currently and their collective promotion records over that period.

Tenuous argument given he never got a game with either Donny or Wrexham. In fact his injury cover games for York are the only games he has ever had at a full time professional club apart from the Iron – and York have just shipped him out for the season without recall.

Looks like they have a better back up option.

On the evidence of my eyes and many games for the Iron he does make some great saves but he is poor with crosses, nervous with the ball at his feet and piss poor at distribution.

It wouldn’t be quite so scary if Maison had shown he was any better.

I predict neither will be first choice by Christmas.

With the fickle mentality of football clubs to sack managers nowadays whose to say AB might not be here by Christmas if it goes pear shaped early.

Seems to me from what I’ve seen in pre season so far we’ve just signed loads of random players for positions we don’t need and already have, and still lacking badly in centre mid

Exactly that .. scatter gun signings to be cobbled together until it clicks which may be some time .. too many options for me to come up with a guessimated starting 11 tough i do think Boyce should be used off the bench and not a starter ..Evans and Jean the new fella first choice CB pairing
Expecting a mid to lower mid table finish .. though would not be surprised of in the relegation mix at some point and AB under pressure.. first season back i NL target has to be survival

Much as I’m a fan of Whitehall and Roberts I’d rather we’d let one of them go to get a experienced keeper.
Unless we’re just gonna go out with the notion we’re gonna score one more than you, but that ain’t gonna happen with Butler in charge.

Long hard season incoming .. i agree AWG for me AB isnt the right man to form a team to compete in the NLb To hit n miss and really is Rory Watson the best we can do . CRAP

Whilst i am reasonably happy with the front line and attacking element of the current pick n mix bunch i worry about us defensively and if not addressed could see us getting a few goals against. So lets be prepared for a few 3=2 4-3 4-4 5-4 etc etc.

Hoping AB gets an experienced keeper (shame about Eastwood) another Central defender and a nasty hard as nails midfielder SOON

Seems like the Iron are taking part in this NL cup as just announced on the club website ..

Could really be a bad choice if a key first teamer gets injured and out of action for a lengthy period .. IMO decision can only be for the extra income via gate receipts ..but will anyone turn up as this comp does have a bad rep with many clubs choosing not to enter.

I think we should withdraw as enough to do to stay in the division without picking up injuries in this meaningless competition.

100% .. ENTER at your own risk

IMO give it a miss and focus on NL survival not some tin pot cup that means naff all and risks unnecessary injuries

So we now have a pre-season kit to be auctioned off when pre-season done it’s starting to get a bit grabby wonder who is sponsoring this kit.

Glyn Sparks would get sponsorship for a dog turd in the car park if he could .. i know the club needs as much income as possible but sponsorship overkill is tiresome.

Whitby’s restaurant and takeaway (just off the Sheffield Parkway beyond Morrisons on way to Catcliffe) has a good reputation.
Posher restaurant but our last visit cost £50 for the pair of us.
Mrs Lesgeo insists on not chucking money away so we rarely go there.
Big difference between £18 and £50 – admittedly with one or two extras.

Seems like fish n chips are a hot topic in the football close season … pleased i mentioned it, i actually dream about proper fnc to the point i wake up in a cold sweat and need a shower.
Haddock chips and either mushy peas or curry sauce.. chuck a battered sausage on the side as well, talking of that its soon soapy Sunday again … wow the weeks go so quick IT WILL SOON BE FOOTY SEASON AGAIN

HF was Atlantis or vice versa ??? and what happened to Wilsons on Frod rd ?? , when in Ashby on pool nights was always Carvers

Back to the kit .. the cod fans are getting all giddy over the away shirt which is surprising as if you squint it looks like claret n Blue.

sorry about the chippy talk but before i left the UK my go to chippy was Wilsons on Frod rd ..than ran by a gentleman from the subcontinent and did excellent Indian cuisine. If i recall correctly a takeaway and sit down chippy next to the church on Brit corner was also not bad after a few shandies ..Greek fella Mappouras rings a bell.

    Steeles number 1 for me

Back to the Cod away kit .. like the colours and design just really dislike collars on footy shirts not necessary… and make no mistake they ripped off our ACG kit launch vid idea from last year.
