Everyone is entitled to an opinion but a theme running through a lot of the posts on the Shrimpers forum is how we forced Southend to change their normal game by pressing them in midfield and forcing them to go long ball. Well we have a team in Southend with a more experienced manager and a squad of players assembled on a bigger budget than the Iron, so I guess their assessment of the game is down to their own inability to change things around to suit them which in theory they should be able to do with said bigger budget squad and as for their more experienced manager, he’s been booked in both games against us at the AA this season, guess refs just don’t like him, lol.

I see Hilton’s attempt to buy Matlock promotion failed. Knocked out at home to Bradford Park Avenue last night. Shame for the fans.

Hope Maison was in goal for Bradford, even sweeter for Mr Hilton to swallow.

Some on the Shrimpers forum took it badly, apparently we are a bunch of cheating cloggers who are masters at the dark arts of the game, funny I only remember their player getting sent off. Come on guys you got beat by a better team on the night try a little humility for a change.

Brilliant night at the AA, the crowd were fantastic singing throughout and really driving the team on, fair play to the Southend 1000 ( almost) who tried to lift their side all game. We should have been two up at halftime but then again Jones made a brilliant reaction save to keep us in front. Second half a real battle as they just wanted to keep the ball in the air and pump endless balls high into our box, we defended magnificently to a man and Olly Ewen had probably his best game of the season. Well done the Iron you were magnificent to a man and didn’t let the endless Southend provocation tactics get you to lose you heads. Best laugh of the night was Dec attempting to shake hands with their player being sent off late on, he wasn’t amused, absolutely brilliant.

Don’t think alcy is far off being spoon fed these days, he’s only been back 5 minutes yet seems more belligerent than before, if that’s possible.

That’s the key thing about ‘charity’. You’re not supposed to expect anything in return.

The coffee tip is a tip for staff not charity DM I jut don’t think asking for a tip is necessary for serving a cup of coffee you pay for that’s why people get wages. When I delivered heating oil I didn’t go knocking on the door after the delivery saying “ your oils in the tank now where’s my tenner” it’s just this bloody mercenary world we live in it’s something for nothing but it’s just my opinion.

It’s more I think it’s unnecessary not a chore DM people seem to want something for nothing these days.

We all would have put money on you mangling Eastleigh. The fact that you didn’t makes our brain fart at Hartlepool even more painful. Had we won there, we would have been hosting you guys on Tuesday.

It was a poor end of season game with our best player rested and three others left on the bench. Four subs to start the second half and a fifth later on was all about resting the Tuesday starters but it led to a disjointed performance. Think Tuesday will be different may the best team win.

Whenever you pay for anything now even a cup of coffee there is a tip/no tip function on the reader you have to press before the card can be tapped, a tip for a cup of coffee, bloody no way.

Garbage end of season dross more like a training game at times. Ewen best player by a mile first half, Jones best player second half, certainly saved us from a 3-0 defeat. If we persist in trying to walk every goal into the net instead of shooting more ( yes I know it’s an old chestnut but it’s true ) we will consistently be a low scoring team, tidy approach play with no end product is our undoing a lot of the time.

Think it was more the national press barely mentioning us compared to the other clubs in the race back then Awaywego. The little old Scunny syndrome that has followed us around over the years, they certainly started mentioning us more after we thumped Brentford on their own park.

That away win at Brentford, 3-0 I believe, really set the tone to make the rest of the division to sit up and take notice, up until then we had been kinda flying under the radar a bit, not after that game. Not surprised you were blotto at Brentford Awaywego a pub on every corner of Griffin Park back in the day 🍻🤪

Clark was only unloved because Wraith took the ridiculous decision to sack John Duncan who was doing an excellent job, Clark unfairly picked up quite a few supporters flack as a result. Nobody dislikes Butler because the Itchy and Scratchy show got cancelled.

York, Rochdale, Carlisle. 4/5 changes = squad rotation.

Iron 4/5 changes = weakened team!

That’s the difference in budget for you nothing more.

I don’t believe any of them and haven’t for a long time, a lot of other people feel the same way and that breeds apathy within our democratic system. Polling turnout becomes lower and allows extremes of either left or right philosophies to prosper. We are all fast becoming victims of our own stupidity, you reap what you sow, the people who originally fought for our voting rights, holiday entitlement and shorter working weeks will be spinning in their graves, the last few generations are a pathetic example of couldn’t give a toss. My late parents generation are the last true examples of how to fight and behave in a way that benefits the country.

Southend won’t have an easy ride up at Hartlepool on Tuesday night, it could be all sorted before we even play next Saturday.

Well it ended up a close run thing but Hartlepool delivered for us on the night ⚽️👍

Seems like a lot of unnecessary work to me Siderite, why doesn’t Dave do the simple honourable thing and just f*** off, maybe get out of football and run a pub, into the ground of course.

Sounded a real bore fest on Humberside, main concern Roberts off injured, fingers crossed he will be ok for the playoffs.
