In fairness I haven’t fact checked the above claim of a £500 donation from funds
You’d think promotions company would have a presence somewhere.
It’s hard to find anything they do on social media.
“When we have former players pass away, they will be able to lay wreaths at the foot of Kevin Keegan”
perhap we could sacrifice a goat or a child at the feet of Kevin Keegan.?This is getting out of hand Keegan was a great player who fondly remembered his time here . that’s it.Like most anyone I liked Kevin Keegan my childhood memories were of the huge star .Nobody I know has ever claimed him as there ” Iron great” I’m just not into this need to be seen to do something.Especially with money the trust has had donated to buy shares.
Obviously the trust will have it in their constitution about such donations but as a trust member and voca supporter I am getting disillusioned with some of their decisions.I fully understand the need to make up ground and get a better relationship with the club again but not sure if the trust’s direction at the moment.
This feels like a look at us response for the social media era3 users thanked author for this post.
Never liked the applause since it was 1st imported from Italy a decade or two ago
makes
I’d wager someone suggests two minutes applause or whatever else they see on TV before the season starts, retire a shirt anyone?
Now I see people suggesting nonsense about the 7th minute of a game and chanting a song. Why do we have to be seen to do something all the time?

I doubt £20k gets you much . I worry it will be costly and I see nobody has come up with a target

Having to ask for a coffee ending in O with a dash of milk just to get a white coffee. Beans in tiny bowls on my breakfast
He certainly didn’t like it, he’s had a very easy ride from our media over the years, he’s pushed by The Mail, Express, Telegraph,no politician has been on QT more over despite most of that time not being an MP. All this despite his oddball followed saying “mainstream” media don’t listen to them.FFS they’ve basically given him free promotion with little questions for years ,the BBC more so than most too
I’ll be working on the 2027 version

The narrative around this seems to be poor Messi doesn’t deserve these team mates The only world clip I’ve seen was today and it was Messi remonstrating with the ref ,who was surrounded
I know language has evolved but “Spitting feathers” always used to mean thirsty.People now use it instead of spitting bullets(angry) all the time.l

Over exaggerators you know the type .I might say “I’m hungry” the response from someone I know will be “Yeah I’m starving. Similarly for “I m a bit cold,” ,” yeah I’m freezing” the other one such as “hammering down” when it’s a slight drizzle.

Overuse of acronyms,I seem to spend my life trying to figure out what the latest acronym we have in planning events. For instance when planning for England’s Victory parade 2 years ago ,it didn’t happen, I attended a “Table top” with LAS,MPS ,LFB, SAG etc,It’s a whole new language designed to make the uninitiated feel inferior. After several years of such meetings I’m now one of the bullies.I hate myself for it,

These Dave posts do make our site look pathetic .
every single comment I’ve read suggests that England should have won, every single comment doesn’t take into account that a semi finalist is usually a very good team and most likely not going to just stand by and watch us play .It’s so easy to win if there’s no opposition thinking about how and busting a gut to beat you

“I think some liberals cringe at patriotic pride because it seems burlish and putting oneself above others, but I think it is healthy to have a pride in where you’re from. Why bother improving the country if you think it has no merit? It doesn’t mean you need to tip into jingoism – every country has positives and negatives, but looking at the good points and having pride shouldn’t be taboo. The French seem to manage it from all sides of their politics, so we can too, surely.”
My problem is purely that the people who wrap themselves in the flag or claim to be proud Brits usually manifest that in hatred of immigrants or most basely brown people who they feel cannot be “proper” British .I now find that national flags are tainted, for instance going into a town or even crossing Keadby bridge and seeing rags tie wrapped inappropriately embarrasses our still great nation .They use worlds like Patriot to disguise their racism ,as for nationalists whether it’s Scottish Irish, British or whatever ,their beliefs are usually based on hatred .They feel the need to set themselves against somebody .1 user thanked author for this post.
Ironically it’s those who are berated for hating Britain that actually love what Britain is .It has faults but it would if still was a”white Christian ” country if it ever was. Those nice white Christian crooks “loved their mums” in our once great country .
I like living here ,it’s great .Could be better but we’re so lucky to be even having these conversations.
It’s the sort who Adolf Farage attracts that hate Britain, this still great country1 user thanked author for this post.
