‘I encouraged him him July more for himself not for the fans.’

What did you encourage him him to do in July?

He was far less critical of club actions during the Swann and Hilton reigns. Particularly the latter.

Fine by me as long as he sticks by us and isn’t another Spireiron, flitting from club to club.

How much do mug repaints cost?

‘Cringeworthy’ is very subjective and relative.

I think the scepticism from some on here about how he would fit in, based on his previous time at GP was reasonable enough. Certainly sounds like a different player now though.

There would be some lame excuses even if there were. Believers have a get out of jail free card.

A dodgy stick I believe these days. Approximately 5 million in the UK have one.

Strikes me he’s trying to trump (pardon the pun) Putin in the granny gangster stakes. If he lays claims to Greenland it could get very messy. Can foresee China claiming Taiwan-they’re potentially losing billions on their Venezuela investment. Treating sovereign states like a land and resource grab video game.

There’s nothing morally wrong with subscribing to view Iron matches on the only platform available, particularly those not close to the town, and bearing in mind a percentage goes back to the club. Subscribing to watch Premier league matches is a different matter IMO

I remember having similar thoughts upon hearing his contribution to the panel podcast the club did as I do when I’ve heard many marketing and fundraising execs reporting back on their work. Wonder if he managed to convince himself?

The Keir Starmer chant is pretty widespread now; Sky have had to go silent when it’s sung at the darts.

Must admit it was disheartening hearing it at a Scunny game, along with the pro- farage chants. The Tommy Robinson chant was sung by 20-30 young lads behind us, there was an angry response from half a dozen or so Scunny fans and it quickly stopped. I asked a young lad behind us why he was singing it and he didn’t have a clue, seemed embarrassed when confronted about it.

sad state of affairs and hopefully that shite can be self policed.

For what it’s worth saleiron I’ve been out with supporters of various league and non-league clubs the last two days and when I relayed this topic, all said your initial observation and second observation was concerning and worthy of discussion. These are fans of the Iron, Leeds, Man U, Burnley, Alfreton, Altrincham and Liverpool. Just saying. And fair play to you raising it.

Matlock town had a pre Xmas crowd of 1576 in the northern premier league east in tier 8.

    Closer to 1899 maybe.

“Any suggestion that the family’s need for privacy played a significant part in the decision is, in my view, so wide of the mark as to be laughable.”

6 mile exclusion zone?! Sounds little more than a having a bigger private playground. Why exactly wouldn’t a considerably smaller exclusion zone be secure enough.

Well that’s for the best. There’s a good player in there once he finds his form and a team with a system that suits his style.
