Yes, had fought point. Disappointed with Dale. Considering the are in the box seat they looked very average.
Once again too many aimless punts forward and misplaced passes.
Not quite sure what happened with their penalty? Did Dieseruvwe touch it?
No – he ran up to the ball and then stopped followed by turning away from the ball thinking he could then go again. But you are no longer allowed that run in and stop momentarily. So Rory claimed a free kick.
I believe this is the correct interpretation.

February 18, 2026 at 11:57 am #316466Just listened to McNulty’s post match interview. I’d say he was a really bad loser and can hardly imagine what he’d be like if they had lost. Not one bit of praise for our performance but justified their failure to win by telling everybody that we have beaten all the top seven ( Not sure how Carlisle would feel about that!)
The penalty appeared to be that ref’s interpretation of a rule that few appeared to know existed. McNulty thought the ref got it wrong but then admitted he hadn’t a clue. He couldn’t believe they didn’t win and was amazed that we finished with 11. Watch it again Jim and give some credit to the opposition whilst recognising your own teams failings.2 users thanked author for this post.
February 18, 2026 at 12:42 pm #316467Two strking thongs on this match.
Of course the penalty, I haver never seen such thing before.
My thoughts are yellow for feinting and (re)take the penalty, as the player didn’t hit the ball at all.
For their equaliser, for me it seems to be that their number 9 is in an offside position, blocking the sight of Mahady.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 18, 2026 at 12:47 pm #316468Ref cassidystash on Jimmy McNulty post match interview.
It was embarrassing how he did not praise Scunthorpe’s performance, a very sore loser who got a draw.
Both he and Maynard seem to think they deserve to go up without playing, and the rest of the teams are just cannon fodder.
I am sure all of us cannot wait till we play Rochdale at home in March and hopefully beat them.
And there non penalty taking was comedy gold and man of the match to Mahady for pointing it out to the ref so we got the free kick.2 users thanked author for this post.
February 18, 2026 at 12:52 pm #316469Regarding the penalty, just had a look on the FA website at the rules…any “illegal feinting” results in an indirect free kick being awarded and a caution (yellow card) being shown to the kicker.
The ref got it spot on, Dieseruvwe clearly completed his run up and then stopped, i.e feinted. Don’t think he touched the ball and he didn’t need to for the refs outcome to be correct.

February 18, 2026 at 1:07 pm #316470They well put a shift in last night and that’s all what we expect and demand,Rochdale were very good however.
On the penalty it was Danny straight into the ref not Mahadey, you can see him remonstrating in the photo above, looked like he was going to let him take it again till Danny got involved to be honest everyone was just stunned so many different views on it. One said Danny shouted stop as he was walking up to it.
The penalty itself Mahadey just refused to move one little bit and the taker just didn’t know what to do I thought he just refused to take it and walked over it, others thought he got a slight touch on it, whatever it was as good as a save from Mahadey great confident goalkeeping all game yesterday not that he had to much to save.
Danny not offered to much up front from the lads but showed his worth with our one and one foray into their half late on (thought he should have been subbed by then) held the ball up with 2 on him for an age then got a decent cross in for Denton I think.
On last night’s form one team to avoid in the playoffs on their turf which by the way looked excellent for the time it’s been down.1 user thanked author for this post.
February 18, 2026 at 1:24 pm #316471Good video on fan banter from a Rochdale fan, just refused to take it like I thought last night, just goes to show what you think you’ve seen I can’t recollect Mahadey dropping down like he did.
Maybe Danny was sledging when you read that report from their side.February 18, 2026 at 1:35 pm #316473Just listened to McNulty’s post match interview. Even more funny that Rory seems to know the rules better than an opposition manager. Stop crying Jim and get back to school.

Maybe Danny was sledging when you read that report from their side.Whitehall’s performances of late are well below par. Looks like his boots are too heavy. Need more movement from our main striker.

If they don’t get first spot I’ll go to Matlock and sign over my life savings to Hilton for safe keeping.
February 18, 2026 at 2:11 pm #316476Whitehall sledging? So that’s in addition to Manny hearing a second whistle and the ref putting him off by shouting.
Probably a photo flash as he approached the ball, a Scunny fan flashing her t**s and a couple of other things that they haven’t thought of yet.3 users thanked author for this post.
February 18, 2026 at 3:02 pm #316478According to Torps on commentary he thought Dale were the best side he’d seen in this league
February 18, 2026 at 3:05 pm #316479I’d agree, shame their manager let them down.

February 18, 2026 at 3:06 pm #316480To all iron fans, and others who dislike Rochdale, check Owain Harrison vlog on you tube ‘ another 2 points dropped ‘
Just fast forward to the end for what he says about how Scunthorpe played in the second half.
No need for AB to do team talk before we play them at Glanford Park, just let the players listen to what he, Owain Harrison said.February 18, 2026 at 6:48 pm #316486The kid’s very green but eats too much beige food by the looks of him.
