Truthfully, I’m not too concerned by the result today, disappointing as the performance was. You show me a side that doesn’t get properly turned over a couple of times a season. Could be a very valuable ‘lesson’ – a bit of a wake-up call at just the right time. Let’s see how they go, how much fight they’ve got, against Rochdale on Tuesday.

I was hoping that Horsham was the wake up call. Didn’t happen, I think we pressed the snooze button and dropped off again.

They got Cursons and we got a 19yr old wide attacker from Coventry.

No, we got a striker. It’s AB’s choice to play him wide, remember TSF & Dec Howe?

Can’t help thinking that AB missed a trick by not introducing the defenders to each other before kick off.
    Shocking performance.

Whilst at times we played some good, attacking football I felt, overall, we were a bit disappointing. No need to dwell on individual performances but the previously excellent midfield were well below their best last night. Deserved a draw, could have won, on to Saturday.

4-3-3 for me but we’ll see, hopefully not 3-5-2 or 4-5-1.

If AB picks the right team and tactics then we should be OK. We’ll have to be much better than Saturday to have any chance, can’t take 45 minutes to work out the opposition.

Hurst will become the new whipping boy for some, after all Beck is out on loan as is Campbell and AB who some wanted sacked less than a year ago has got us promoted and has us lying third in the National League, someone has to fill the void for the pathetic crew to chip away at, lol.

In case you hadn’t noticed this is a forum design to discuss all matters Iron and express (differing) opinions. I’ve not been impressed by Hurst so far and think Smith should be in instead of him and have said so on here. Being described as part of a “pathetic crew” is an unnecessary insult. Fans disagree on MOM as well as those considered below par players, it’s up to the players to prove them wrong.

Hurst rescued from being the worst Iron player on the pitch by Barrows performance?

It would be a tough call, I thought Denton was terrible.

Donny Rovers fans on x stated he had ability but was lightweight when we signed him. Dausch will take his spot. SST, heard anything in regards to more potential incomings ?

I’d expect it to be Smith not Dausch.

You’re right les, one shot on target at home not likely to attract the crowds.
    Good job we:-
    Made it count
    Had ref assistance
Had ‘keeper with MOM performance (IMO)

Was fear of injury the reason for the below par performance last week?

Now 3rd choice in the position that AB uses him and not the physicality to stand in for Whitehall. Not suggesting I agree with the decision but I can understand the reasoning. Surely means that the long awaited new striker is very close.

I think we are at the stage where 3 home wins would probably be the best outcome for us.

Don’t give up too soon. Home win for us (essential) and two draws would be OK.

“The shutting of the window in the Football League will open up more opportunities for his side. That’s because players who might have been holding out for a move to the Football League – whether out of favour at their current club or looking to head out on loan – will have no choice but to turn their attention lower down the footballing pyramid. Potentially faced with spending the rest of the season out of the side or on the bench, players looking for a move away could suddenly find the prospect of trying their luck in the National League much more appealing.”

A timely reminder from the Hartlepool manager that signings from the EFL now might be joining NL clubs because “it’s better than nothing”
Not really the attitude you want is it? Careful Andy!

How long has he actually supported the Club ?

Doesn’t matter, he’s here now and he’s enthusiastic. I understand people’s concern, an Iron supporter with unlimited positivity is an extremely rare individual!!

Dec has been out of the team and must think he has something to prove (Probably right)
The rest must think they’ve already proved themselves, can’t be a***d as NLS teams are below their level or think they’ll get plenty of other chances to play at Wembley. (Probably wrong)

Is it a mental thing? Teams above/around us we can play well, teams of supposedly inferior quality we always seem to struggle to perform.
Recent example – Morecambe have got 1 point from their last 5 games.

AB said post match FG a new forward was due in Tuesday/ Wednesday this week so around now. He said he just had to double check with the players club to finalise things but he wouldn’t give any names out to Olly on RH.

Taking a bit of getting over the line isn’t it? Hope he’s worth waiting for.

Transfer window for EFL ends in a few days so if anything is going to happen it’ll be soon. Maybe the lending club haven’t secured their replacement yet.

So a group of people abusing another group of people is OK but an individual abusing another individual isn’t?

For my own clarification would I be right in thinking:-
Savage is a w****r is acceptable because he might be.
Savage is a p***o is unacceptable because he isn’t.
Where is the line that shouldn’t be crossed?
(This might also help certain sections of supporters)
