I liked him.
Don Rowing always ballsed things up for big games, I think the current team are doing as well as can be expected. Don’t know who’s responsible for changing the rules but the CEO is being blamed for everything else so let’s make it him.
My techno knowledge is less than basic but I understand from a local 12 y.o. that there is a way to make your laptop appear to be in the UK no matter where you are. Ask an available yoof and I’m sure they’ll advise. ( I would but I didn’t understand beyond turning it on.)

I think we have a good idea.
Geoff Barnard & Rod Fletcher I remember.
Not that far!!
I’d agree with that but only if Lionel Perez was before your time.

Not sticking up for the CEO at all, why does he only seem to bring unpopular news when he comes out of hiding, but it could be T&Cs of the contract with the new supplier?
Ryszard Lech Krzywicki
“There’s only one …….” nah – never catch on!
Beat Southport and win the league. If he can’t get his players motivated to give their all under those circumstances then it’s fair to question his management skills. They shouldn’t need any help with motivation for a game like that so their attitude and approach is certainly worthy of criticism. (In the dressing room)
Hope Butler doesn’t suffer the same fate.See avatar. Header at Hillsborough never forgotten.
Reading through this thread again and – again – I’m led to one ultimate question. Exactly what does Hilton want with a football club? I don’t buy this local hero / doing it for legacy bullshit.
Two other interesting questions:-
How did he pass the F&P persons test?
Where’s his money coming from?Public criticism/slating of players seldom has positive results in my experience.

Another wage above their means?

Southend in the play offs 28 points behind York in second. Adds strength to the 3 up argument surely.
Tango Man getting sacked in the morning?
Not likely, it’s not his fault. See below:-
“Boss Brown blames ‘unacceptable’ players after Harriers play-off exit”
“PHIL Brown hit out at his Kidderminster Harriers players after the club’s promotion dream was ended in the play-offs with a 2-1 defeat to Chester.”Expected to be receiving the adulation of an NLN Championship winning manager on his return “home” I guess. Oh dear.
Wouldn’t like to see anybody injured but a couple of sendings off would be OK.
And another from a couple of divisions higher.

Wiley returns to the Gladiators
Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signing of towering defender Dwayne Wiley from Alfreton Town. Dwayne started his playing days at Buxton before playing for Heanor Town and then Mickleover Sports. He then made the switch to Matlock Town from Mickleover in the summer of the 2016/17 season where he made 185 appearances for the Gladiators, scoring eight times and becoming a fan favourite in the process. During the summer of the 19/20 season, Dwayne would join Alfreton Town, becoming a key member of the Reds National League North side whilst also being named club captain making 161 appearances. He tweeted (xed?) “it doesn’t look good”
Yes, I didn’t see that. Getting promoted, or even making the play offs, with a minus GD would be a surprise.

Won more than Chesterfield but lost 18 games. That’s more than the teams in 16/17 place.
That’s what cost them.
Shame!Funny, I thought it was drawing too many games that costs! Well, at least that’s what I’ve read on here.

Assist maker Elliott joins the Gladiators
Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Tom Elliott from Buxton FC. Tom, who has previously played for Nuneaton, Darlington and Hednesford, joined the Bucks in the 19/20 season, spending five years with the Derbyshire club where he became known for a tremendous assist record of one every two games. And another, history repeats.
Is it DAZN rules that you have a neutral commentator for play off games?

Hot shot DeGirolamo joins the Gladiators
Matlock Town are pleased to announce the signing of striker Diego DeGirolamo from Buxton FC. Diego, who has played for the likes of Sheffield United and Chesterfield, joined Buxton in 2018 and has played a major part in their success, scoring 120 goals in 229 appearances for the Bucks. The powerful centre forward will add a real threat to the Gladiators’ front line for the 25/26 season.
Welcome to the Gladiators, Diego!Just a hint of familiarity here?
Not me, I know nooooothing.
Yes, at least two of them aren’t it seems.

It’s normally called that by you certainly.
That massive slump we had when Butler was stuck on play 5 at the back is the main reason. How many points did we drop in that period ?
3 successive 1-0 away defeats when playing a back 4 didn’t help. Maybe a back 5 would have given us a couple of draws?
