Is there any TV coverage of the game against PS?

Not sure there are even any highlights. The club haven’t posted any yet, anyway, and they never usually take this long. Was looking forward to seeing Eze’s goals.

Oteh was decent enough – worth a second look, I’d say (and the Peterborough Sports match this weekend would be / would have been ideal). However, it’d be nonsense to have a budget and wage structure and be prepared to bust it. Thanks for your (brief) service Mr Oteh, but we’re moving on.

But isn’t starting a thread promoting a phrase you hate due to its overuse counter productive?

I hate the phrase ‘counter productive’.

Fans having a meltdown in the other site wanting a refund
Anyone would would have thought we’d lost 5-0 and still bottom
Anyone who thinks it deserves refund hasn’t been much in the last few years
That was a game we were very unlucky not to win or even draw
Fourth goal was only because we pushed keeper up

Seeing as there is an effort to chase Butler, who next?

I’d be careful not to frame criticism of the manager’s demeanour as an attempt to chase him out.

Looked like another fall out with a fan, today. That’s three matches on the trot isn’t it?

Andy lives up to the Yorkshire stereotype. A Yorkshireman is never wrong.

Of course you get it wrong Andy. All managers buy a few princess and usually a few more dogs. Impossible to not buy dogs at this level and without a top budget.

To be fair to him, I don’t often think it’s a case of digging his heels in and going all out with the “I’m not wrong”. I think it’s more likely that he’s trying to walk a difficult line between having a shit budget and not slagging the owners off for giving him a shit budget, knowing how rough things have been behind the scenes and what it has taken to get this far, and hoping supporters temper their expectations a little bit and recognise that we’ve probably over-achieved.

Butler a dickhead with the charm of a bull in a china shop.

Can’t agree with this, as he seems generally pleasant and personable. He’s done a pretty good job so far, all told, on a shit budget. He does, however, seem to struggle with his wider relationship with supporters. A bit of booing and frustration is always going to arise. Talking about it in a radio interview after it’s been quite mild doesn’t bode well for those times (which will surely come) when the team is on its arse and people really ‘let rip’. He has to learn quickly to shoulder it better, imho.

Yes and the guy I saw was genuinely foaming at the mouth.Genuinely hideous creature of a man,he also had a young kid with him, what a role model.Swivel eyed may have been an embellishment for added comedic effect mind you

There was a bloke effing and jeffing and absolutely screaming at his little kid outside the ticket office on Saturday. Very unpleasant.

No video on the SUFC website from Butler yet explaining why we were so poor Saturday especially against a side 4th from bottom

As far as I can see there are no match lowlights from Solihull, either.

It’s the fans’ club as well, even if some might be negative.

This is partly my point, really. It’s more theirs than his! Being a supporter of a team is for life, whereas the manager’s job is for a short period of time in the grand scheme of things. Not saying he should accept what 64 calls ‘dogs abuse’, of course.

I think his problem might be how he sees a performance. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him use the word poor even though fans can see that it is.
“Need to be sharper in both boxes”
“Need to be better through the thirds”
    “We weren’t really on it”
But never poor. Nobody wants to see a team b********g in the middle of the pitch but players need to be left in no doubt that what we are currently watching is totally unacceptable before the fans do the talking and walk.

I’d rather he was constructive and uses the damage limitation language he does, than throw the players under the bus just so six fans can applaud him for using the word “poor”.

Ultimately, Andy Butler is trying his best but he seems to be quite thin skinned. To the point where people are booing or shouting and it might not even be aimed at him or the players and he assumes it is!

I agree we want a positive environment, and the achievement so far this season merits a bit of positivity really – but telling fans not to bother coming if they’re not going to happy clap, and seeming to suggest fans should be thrown out… That’s not how it works. There has always been booing and shouting, since before Butler was even born.

He would have kept a clean sheet today but for a suicidal back pass that was out of his control, I think for a young keeper he has done ok so far.

Just seen it back on YouTube and the goal is not really down to Mahady. Fair play to Starbuck, he immediately tried to make amends with a cracking effort at the other end.

I have a lot of time for Carlton – he’s not having the best season and it doesn’t seem to quite be happening for him, but he’s definitely trying hard when he gets his moments. He’s unpredictable and exciting and can play ‘off the cuff’ in ways that Dawson doesn’t seem likely to, and Beck seems completely unable to.

Record holder, too. Fastest United sending off at GP, I think… 14 seconds. Ball out to the wing from kick off and Hine straight through his man, studs up.

I find this narrative weird, when the facebook group set up several migrated from here and it became the “anti bru” which was a pity ,Jason seems very bitter still as does Vim Fuego .I personally see as many chances to chat and share views with Iron fans we can get is a positive ,sadly they chose to make it about them Vs iron bru, once Hilton came the rhetoric ramped up and the abuse for this site and it’s admin went through the roof and was at times quite scarey .Even Awaywego saw how bad it became .The group admin not only allowed this to fester they ,especially that Tom encouraged it and deleted any comments to the contrary, when questioned about that he said he basically admitted he was deleting stuff he doesn’t agree with .
The story with the Iron Hour is similar, which is sad really .Gareth had a nice little webcast thing which was popular and sat quite comfortably with the Bru cast as an option for fans which was great for fans to have that choice ,I personally am a fan of Mp3 style cast as it’s more accessible for driving and listening. Sadly When he was joined by the Marx Brother they chose to use their 1st big break after what looked like a nice bit if funding had been received to point fans of Hilton towards thinking Bru as Being in cahoots with Peter Swann ,and they advertised their Hilton interview with quotes accusing Iron Bru. The abuse that followed included death threats. They’re still quite unrepentant.
As for the misnamed unity group, they from the minute they set up chose to attack the trust, some of them did anyway . Which again was quite unfortunate, there’s many ways of helping SUFC and the unity model is one of them and it’s not for anyone to judge them for doing that. I just cannot see why they chose to launch the way they did with such vitriol.
As for Andy Butler’s comments I haven’t seen them but they are being protrayed as a shot at Bru and the trust .I think he should look at the background of the annoyance felt at the above if that really is the case

I agree with most of this. I find Marco smug and Max insufferable – but I don’t have any huge non-podcast experience of them. That’s just how they come across in general. Gareth’s ok.

‘Also, I’d like to know who was the genius that decided paying an £800 A MONTH subscription for a bloody washing machine was a good idea!?’

I got the impression it’s a Hilton legacy?

I’m sure Michelle said it goes back much further than that.

I watched last night and thought it was pretty good, pretty revealing. I didn’t think anyone other than Butler and Roj showed themselves in an especially sparkling light (not that the others were particularly bad). Roj’s enthusiasm was great to see and his metaphors were a great way to try and reinforce his message – he’s a big positive around the administration of the Club. Butler seemed quite emotional at one point when discussing how far the Club has come in the last couple of years, which was quite touching. I thought Michelle seemed slightly defensive, perhaps awkward and certainly annoyed (particularly if and when Matt Blanchard was mentioned). CEO Roberts seemed a bit slick, George seemed almost out of his depth trying to string more than a couple of sentences together, and Sharp showed signs of frustration with the FC100K and Weekender things. However, I believe he was right – they may have been handled in ways you could describe as mistakes, but spin that and they become opportunities to learn, and get things right next time.

Iron Hour hosting it surely compromises any kind of impartiality from them towards the club? I would say the same if it was Bru hosting it.

The difference, imho, is that Bru would recognise all of that in advance and not host it, if asked. How can an organisation be credibly able to remain wholly independent and impartial and ask difficult questions when necessary if it is right in the Club’s pocket (which Iron Hour most definitely is). They’re intoxicated by the glamour of enjoying close association, and it’s to their detriment. The lightly media savvy face of happy clapping.

Unwatchable on Saturday. What faith can anyone have in DAZN, going forward? You can request to cancel, but they will actually continue taking payments for a year. Regardless of what the contracts say, that is close to a racket, an extortion.

With regards to The young drummer; he has done a good job at helping the atmosphere in the DRE, home games in recent years have consistently had a better atmosphere than we’ve ever had at GP.

    Completely agree with this.
