IB .. first the security advisory on GP now this .. purely as a bystander yer showing yer self up now time to give it a rest and end this crusade
All these new signings are having their photos taken at a great looking Glanford Park. On what looks like a pristine pitch and on the seats that look much cleaner than previous seasons.
I sincerely believe we will be playing there this coming season.
Hope so it would give everyone involved a huge lift for the upcoming season in which im quietly confident we will play better more entertaining and pressing style of football thus win enough to be in and around the top few places… not overlooking the likes of Chester Boston etc.
A couple of things hovering in my grey matter …
How JD intends to set up .. bearing in mind when he arrived it was touted as an attack minded manager..
also.. re the new signings .. wondering when signing if they have been informed fully with regard to GP etc ..having your pic taken in splendid looking GP but then playing somewhere way less grand may not go down too well.Cant grumble at any of the signings to be fair …. factor in the newbies and what we had left over from last season and the midfield does look a tad overloaded but who knows maybe one or two may leave ..(Beestin Rance ??)
BTW im with WG on Rance cant see why hes been offered anew contract which at the last update was only verbal so ….
Butterfield Wilson both been offered for transfer ..any takers or interested parties ??
Need an Ogle contract update
Chappo n Fitz ..very happy with that but who will be no1 ?? Foster still here no takers after all the chatter.
Decent looking defense
Tho IMO .. Need another striker for sure, lets hope a decent one can be snagged asap.
Then its all down to JD to get them buzzing
UTI
Well, here’s a thing, if we’re not playing at Glanford Park, why is the pitch looking so good in the new signings photos?
Unless it’s greenscreened.Yeah good point the pitch does look like its been well taken care of not left to rot … some one still must have a set of keys as all the new players have been photographed there.
a very kind offer , i need time to think about that … probabaly get em sorted on line n delivered to my daughters and she can send em on ..avoiding customs duty (mark clothing and as a gift) and theft is always an issue.
its that time of year n mega heavy rain so cabined up in the office until the roads drain n traffic carnage clears .. convenient as can keep tabs on the SUFC website for updates on signings n owt else.
on another thing n a heads up for anyone else it may concern…made an enquiry re buying the new kits .. postage within UK ok but shipping over seas (Asia) is a not possible .. bit of a piss ball but hopefully can work round it.
Players look good. House is on fire. How much they been promised? Where’s the money coming from? How is it sustainable?
Great signings so far , be nice to know the detail on the newbies contracts re salary any win bonuses etc … funds must be in place to pay them ..surely.
WIN BONUS .. theres a blast from the past !!
There was supposed to be three today but apparently one is ill and it may only be two. Cosmos Matwasa likely to be one of the three.
Barrows was mentioned and Cosmos Matwasa .. a fine name cant wait for the info on this fella…tother one maybe edging his bets and threw a sickie
good point mr stash … also suppose there are more pressing issues ATM
Wasnt it rumored today is the day more potential newbies were said to be having medicals and if ok signing ??
I realize where SUFC are at etc in NLN and no disrespect to the friendly opponents already named and tagged with a date but i was hoping to have at least one or two fixtures against EFL league 1 / 2 clubs from neighboring counties …plenty to go at, may possibly still happen towards the end of July and would offer better idea how things are going with what is a totally rebuilt side.
Is this because one of our former players has moved to Chester?
Yes the player in question did get a mention in his post
Even I am not so doom and gloom as AA. If we can find some jumpers and goalposts we should have a good team. No excuses for Jimmy.
Yep looks like JD is getting his chance to sign n shine … being supported by the new owner hes assembling his squad and will have them for a lengthy pre season to get them organized and ready for action SO NO EXCUSES .
10 games in we will know more .. no way taking the NLN as easy though i am quite optimistic we can be up and around the top end of it and winning games regularly …remeber that feeling ??
just a thought .. looking at the new kit images its only the shirt .. be interesting to see the shorts colour as well ..
home ..white ?
away white black or gold /
third green black or even white ?home .. like it
away .. its ok not bad .. but a tad hull n cod coloured if i was picky
third .. fineI would but home and away ..just wear the away only at night … third not sure
New era in many ways, a fresh start ..owner , team , kits and some great signings so hoping for a positive season.. where ever we are playing.
Looks like another excellent signing .. good reviews from Mansfield fans…
Who is sourcing the signings did we ever find out ..JD n LT im guessing ..either way very happy with all newbies so far.
I see some really negative guy on the SUFC fb page tipping Chester to win the NLN .. dunno why he follows Scunny never ever a good word to say about them.
Is this all part of plan C ??
plan A deal gets sorted and play at GP
plan B deal goes tits up n ground share at Gainsboro or another location.
plan C DH has had enough and finding a route to jump ship n walk away.1 user thanked author for this post.
i dropped on fishy to catch up on comments there, now 230 pages with some decent replies now that the piss taking has more less stopped.. a couple of recent posts struck a chord
re Mr Whites sentence on
Where the club would be without his moneyand quote a GT fan
“Their club is brown bread and deep down they all know it. The first stage of grief is denial, most of them are not beyond that stage yet.”Despite the high percentage of Scunny fans backing Hilton … this GT guy may have a point … no where confirmed to play home games , if not GP then plan B Gainsboro ground share ?? and is that really financially sustainable with less money coming in and DH patience wearing thin and what sounds like threats to walk away.
waking up to yet more social media bollocks … all this tiresome he said she said guesswork is it him posting really is a total embarrassment and its simply shameful SUFC has come to this.
I despise Swan but want to give Hilton a chance so … Swan , Hilton whose to blame ?? at this stage the lack of any updates with information that can be confirmed as legitimate and the fact concerned fans are left in limbo is a disgrace.

Just my old mind doing a bit of overtime … putting all the off field problems aside im hoping non of the new signings decide to have a change of heart with all the uncertainty.. contracts effective form next month and im really hope all of them show up .. i take it all have signed and all the paperwork is locked in… maybe a few more newbies also be nice,
Any updates on Ogle ? … i see Wilson n Butterfield both have requested to leave… not heard nowt lately re comings n goings
So are we all happy about our club being moved to another town?
No Ferrite, I would think thaT 99.9% of Scunny fans are feeling very sick over what goes on with their club, all this is down to two people. It was annouced many months ago that Hilton had bough tthe club and all its assets, he then presented supporters to buy into a new share system at £1,899 per share, then brought the earlybird seasons ticket deadline forward to before the end of this disasterous season, it then came to light that he did not even own the stadium and land, even though he had starteds selling the shares.
I hate Swann for what he has done to our club, but there is a lot of blame also to be directed at Hilton, it is so easy to tell the truth on happenings, but this has not been the case at Scunny for years. The supporters of SUFC do not deserve to be treated this way, whilst these two play their little games, why don’t they grow up and sort the bloody problem out. I doubt if more than 600 will travel to Gainsbro’ after the first couple of matches, the whole situation stinks.
Cant disagree with any of that .. as pointed out financially playing in another town is a disaster and i cant see more than 1000 “home” fans making the trip regularly even if the team are at the top end of the table.
The club , individuals certainly lacking any updates clarifying anything thus leaving fans in limbo and out of pocket re season tickets and those who rolled the 1899 dice.WHAT A BLOODY MESS

thought i would see what GTFC ground is like .. seems ok , take it open un covered end will be the away end for our “home” fixtures.
Local pubs and businesses can make hay while the suns shines with twice the number of home fixtures being played there.
What about North Ferriby , Winterton , Barton , Brigg Town
Thanks for the link showing all the past SUFC kits and badges … im the proud owner of quite a few of them … i much prefer the old round unity club badge than any other.

I saw the rather poor quality image of this proposed new ground via a link sent to me from twitter and a few things caught my eye ..
12k .. overkill ..5 to 10 fine
Build the ground first with one or two stands so can play there season 25/26 is possible if the planning etc can be done in record time .. BUT it would mean playing at a half finished stadium that may never get completed let alone it being surrounded by various other construction sites re Hotel , Shopping center n food court etc etc .. all this would lead to rather an unpleasant vibe and feel to attending home games and IMO put many off.
A few other questions
How much was paid for the land ??
What is the budget for the build ??
Funding ??
Who nicked the signs ??
Where the hell are we playing this 23/24 season ??.. its getting very late as fixtures are out in early July if im not mistaken. My heart says i hope it all goes well for the best the club its a success
My head says total fantasy…and Swan holds the Aces re GPRe season tickets and 1899 for that matter.. if it comes to a ground share for the coming season and it is not a convenient location for some can they get a refund as when buying the ST (in cash) was on the assumption games would be at GP … similarly with 1899 .. i would hope a full refund to the circa 50 or 60 who dipped their toe in the water would be the order of the day.
ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE Loving the new signings and confident on the pitch we will have a team than can challenge at the top of the NLN.
Quite a few places only have 2 or 3 stands ..Carlisle and Gateshead to name just 2.
Im not daft but some of the comments especially delivering a new stadium in 2 years are lets say very optimistic i really hope i am wrong tho… i am however refraining from getting involved with all the very speculative comments and replies on both sides i just want the best for the club.
Obviously the biggest concern a the moment has to be if and where we will be playing next season and how this effects season tickets previously sold.
Back on the football ..seems after early rush the signings have ceased… and waiting to see the kits with anticipation.
yes with all what going on i found it strange so many have already bought a season ticket.. wasnt the number circa over 1000 on the early bird gig ?
As my daughter commented living in Gunness a season ticket for GP was great , alas no so jolly if it ends up being a journey to “home” fixtures were ever they are.

with all the massive off the field uncertainty something i cant get my old head around and thats the 5, 6 or 7 new signings that have penned a contract effective from July 2023… whilst im very happy with the signings why would Hilton get himself into contractual issues if everything doesnt work out , thus legal cases between these players and the club… unless theres some very small print covering the club before July ??
more so why would players contemplate to sign a contract with the club in such a state and possibly without a ground to play in ….i can only imagine they took advice or have been assured all is ok and thought ..lets go for it !!sorry if ive missed some obvious answer to the above ..
Rumours swirling on SM and fishy Hilton is on his toes n leaving
I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that all our internet spaces have been invaded by so called ‘fans’ of Bury FC.
They are on here. Most joined in the last two or three months.
Nonsense
Don’t worry, it’ll all come out in the end!
Apart from Iron Bystander, which other posters joined this forum over the last few months? Pat came and went and admitted to being a mate of Hilton’s. There’s no one else
Im relatively new on here
i have no affiliation with Bury FC but did do an away trip to Gigg lane in the mad van if that counts.Scrub that i just checked n i joined circa 18 months ago
blooming heck maybe the Rolla was leased after all !!… i hope with all the excellent signings things on the pitch go better than off it…
WHAT A BLOODY MESS .. so many issues need clarifying ..like where will we play?
