‘Someone got the right score in the Pred lge – 5 nil does for me.’

Are you saying you predicted 5-0 Sanfran? Think I went 2-0. Listening to the radio commentary the devil in me was willing it to stick. Delighted to hear Eze goals go in and refreshing to have the commentator master Torps back in his rightful place with Ollie. No offence to Coxy but Torps actually relays the passages of the play that those not there want to know about. He understands the role. Apologies Neil.

This is tragic – from The Rochdale Herald:

‘Man who died putting flag on lamppost to have roundabout painted in his honour

A Rochdale man who died after falling from a lamppost while putting up a flag “for patriotic reasons” is to be remembered with a painted roundabout, councillors have confirmed.

Michael “Mick” Dawson, 52, a Reform voter and self-described “defender of British values”, was decorating Bury Road ahead of what friends said was “a general feeling that the country needed more flags”.

Onlookers said he was still waving the Union Jack as he fell — a true patriot to the very end.

Friends later said it was “a relief” to know the last thing that went through his mind was the flag, followed shortly afterwards by the pavement.

Flags across the borough were lowered to half-mast in tribute, prompting several more Reform supporters to take it upon themselves to reposition flags “properly and visibly”, after expressing concern that they were “not patriotic enough from certain angles”.

The council confirmed that several more local patriots subsequently died while attempting to adjust flags, describing the situation as “a chain reaction of national pride”.

Emergency services were called to multiple incidents involving residents “climbing with confidence and very little planning”.

One witness said a man paused halfway up a lamppost to explain he was doing it “for Britain” before falling off.

The volunteer group involved has since changed its name from Operation Raise The Colours to Operation Raise The Colours To A Sensible Height And In Full Accordance With Health And Safety Legislation, a move described as “regrettable but necessary”.

Councillors have now approved plans to repaint the roundabout at the junction of Bury Road and Crow Lane in Mr Dawson’s honour, stressing the work will be carried out “entirely from ground level and without expressing opinions about the EU”.

A council spokesperson urged residents wishing to show patriotism to do so “in ways that do not involve ladders”, adding: “Gravity remains stubbornly globalist.”

The repainting is expected to take place later this spring, weather — and nationalism — permitting.’

Realised I was a happy sinner years ago and definitely alienated from my creators, both being brown bread.

If Oteh’s not prepared to accept an offer that would indicate he’s got a better offer or is holding out for one. Or has an alternative job / career to fall back on?

And he died after, so out of respect I removed the thread (no one else had posted anyway) following a polite request from a fellow Bru member. Last I’m saying on this. I’m not sure why you can’t respect a request from a fellow Bru member which under the circumstances was perfectly reasonable. I haven’t seen one other post on social media bemoaning the match abandonment. If you’re that bothered about matches being abondoned under these trying circumstances, take it up with the FA.

Just don’t touch match officials. That edict is there for good reason. It’s not rocket science is it. What’s sad is the club have been put in a position to post the warning in the first place due to some not so smart arse.

You’re taking it personally and missing the point. The person who asked for the post to be removed wasn’t implying you were showing any disrespect, they requested the thread be removed out of respect for the family and friends of the deceased. That seems reasonable to me as I’m sure it would most people.

I find it quite amusing that one of my threads was taken down the other day about football abandonment.
And yet a mod deems his thread acceptable.

I removed the thread you started bemoaning the abondoned match at Charlton awaywego following a request posted by another Bru forum member to remove it out of respect for the person who received medical attention having sadly passed away. Seemed perfectly reasonable to do so.

Assuming they can’t be sure about how Oteh would perform in NL level based on one cup game and last spell at TNS. Hope they can agree an initial month contract with an option to extend. Or something like that. Can’t get a Beck style burning again

The totalitarian Marxist s tree state

The totalitarian Marxist state is coming along a lot quicker than even I thought.

Yeah, I’m growing weary of witnessing hordes of black and white scarved Judge’s out on the lash, heckling innocent bystanders with ‘power to the people!!!!’

Not witnessed the last few games. What’s the view on Erwing’s (sic) continued absence? From what I saw of him, he was the reason we were so potent, playing fluid attacking football. Are we totally shot without his front footed playmaking?

Listening to Torps commentary today, he sensed that equaliser coming. A difficult listen, as he’s usually on the money, and so it came to pass. Seemed inevitable.

Of course. Not denying that. My point about was the club going after particular supporters producing merch who sell it to support the club whilst they’re happy to let tat like that clock be sold and given free promotion on the fans Facebook page. I’ll email them and ask.
