Great idea but Why the exclusivity bit.
Only open to 40 people in total so hardly going to get them tills ringing. The kids are off all week open it up a bit more.

Perhaps to do with a manageable amount of people who the tour guides can take round and narrate to. Speaking from experience (not the Attis) 10-12 is often a decent limit. There may already be 2-3 groups to take round in one evening.

Who should be doing it if they’re not?

Wouldn’t advocate banning it but regulated advertising is really needed. Have you met gambling addicts? It can seriously ruin lives. Massive problem with younger males hooked in by initial free bets.

I’m not going to bring you up on how you know there’s money coming in from decent gates awaywego (I only did that previously regarding your supposed knowledge of other clubs finances). It’s obvious there is, but spending needs to be be balanced in a longer term budget, not just spent recklessly. My misunderstanding from your posts stems from you saying we need to a rich benefactor / spend spend spend to get out the league and in the same breath you’re saying we don’t expect the Board to shell out huge amounts. Hard to know what you want and expect with that contradiction, so it appears you’re just having a dig at the Board for the sake of it.

That you conceding we’re not ‘the worst fans in the country’ Ferrite? Awaywego will be gutted. Thought he had an ally ;)

Does sound a little like ‘No ambition Board!’ but I think it’s a reasonable point Ironfan makes.

Do you know how much they’re paying Philips? And how do you know he would have applied for the Iron job? Not convinced he would have been ‘the man’ any more than Butler tbh.

Yes Sanfran, fickleness all over. Burnley supporter friend reports similar moaning happening again amongst their fan base because Sinclair is ‘too defensive’ for some. Happens with most clubs, especially in this day and age when people demand instant gratification.

I’d say more than a few Cass, across various social media platforms. Something we know playing and non-playing staff read. Also, slagging off the team causing Roberts to retaliate?

I can understand a degree of moaning about some of the on pitch / football activity from supporters paying week in week out, home and away, particularly how dire it seems to have been recently (it’s a football forum after all), but the levels of negativity, criticisms of Board decisions, Butler, Turnbull, etc, aren’t helping anyone IMO. Some perspective and patience would be welcome.

What’s the title of this thread? Which bit of this post am I misunderstanding?

‘Butler failed to address my requirements, pre Brackley in a post minimum playoff spot and look like a team that can win the league after 8 games, and i gave him 10 so calling for his head well justified imo.’

Indeed. we’ve seen the 6 point lead at the top whittle down to 1 while playing absolute dog shit both in the sense of the teams we’re playing of late and our play as well.
They’ll be no one on here who can tell you hand on heart say we look like a top of the league team that can go on and win the title.
Id Honestly be more happier if we were in a playoff position but looking like we could win the league than where we are now.
Same last season when we were top or thereabouts we actually never looked like we could win it and we didn’t and bloody failed miserably in our one and only playoff game, 2nd we were and Boston where 7th must finish 2nd everyone said, so I’m not having someone say these f*ck wits are part of the problem I’m not and many others aren’t either.

You’ve skirted the.’Anyone calling for his head’ bit. That’s Ste’s point, not your understandable criticisms.

‘Imagine calling for the managers head when you’re top of the league. These f*ck wits are part of the problem.’

For what it’s worth I’m not a big fan of his and find his presence a bit ‘powder puff’ but he’s going nowhere so I’m hoping he and others get back to their earlier form fast.

Thought he was thriving up till and including Curzon bit admittedly I’ve not seen many games since but sounds like he’s gone backwards. But he’s not alone in that so singling him out doesn’t seem too fair.

Ah, the old ‘wage thief’ label rears it’s head again. Pretty sure in his role of Head of Football Operations / Chief Operating Officer covers a wee bit more than recruitment. Saying he’s stealing a salary when you have little idea of all the other duties he has is cheap IMO. You seem intent on knocking, 414. It’s like the club is in turmoil, when it really isn’t.

What does ‘splash the cash’ mean? How much you talking anyway awaywego? I’ve said numerous times a tough midfielder and decent forward are needed imo and by that I mean loanees, which Michelle said at season start there are funds in the budget for if needs be. That was in answer to the question about small squad.

‘The timing was wrong IMO and has divided the fan base and fanned the flames.’

Total exaggeration. Some say trust the Board others say they shouldn’t have done it. So what? It’s football. People have different opinions. No one’s getting death threats are they.

‘someone who says they know George stated that new owners with bigger pockets would be needed than they are prepared to finance.’

Comfortable with that if it’s pure donations with no strings attached and not loans. Otherwise we’re potentially back to square one. If National League is as far as this budget allows, so be it. As long as it’s sustainable.
