    Looks like it is Awayswego.

Appears that Swann has left more debts than we first feared; creditors crawling out the woodwork now demanding money.

It’s Not is necessarily Hilton’s fault, but taking to social media won’t be doing anyone any favours.

The new owner clearly expects you to be viewing Twitter I-A. Get with the programme mate. I’m sure LK would concur ‘your club needs you!’ 🤣

Unfortunately just don’t try to look at the twitter account that “reached out” to Hilton for the latest update….

    https://twitter.com/YorkyIron

By coincidence Hilton has posted on the Scunthorpe United Fans Group page this afternoon with his usual spiel.

    A worrying read

Exactly I didn’t and I am not too big to admit that, that’s maybe why I care more . I did not realise at the time what a mess we were in – but if it comes to the worst I don’t want Scunthorpe Utd to go and I am pretty sure 99% of Town fans don’t .

I think this is where an independent regulator is desperately needed within our game. In fairness it is not our responsibility to be trawling through company accounts and become experts in conveyancing.

It’s the Wild West at the moment and clubs like Macclesfield and Bury should not be going out of business.

A lot of your fans need to wake up ,and that’s from a Grimsby fan who for some reason actually cares about Scunthorpe Utd .

With all due respect. Grimsby fans watched Fenty systemically ruin your club from championship regulars, to non league (twice) and left you with a Sunday league training pitch a ground falling to bits whist taking the Mariner’s trusts shares. Grimsby fans were angry yet could barely muster a protest of more than a few dozen together.

I’m not isolating Grimsby fans either; it’s difficult for clubs with smaller fan bases to organise themselves accordingly.

There is literally nothing we can do other than ask questions when we can. We don’t even a local newspaper around these parts.

With the national league AGM fast approaching, we will get an answer for the clubs immediate future at least.

I don’t think you can overstate how disastrous it will be for the club to leave Scunthorpe.

Where’s the Iron Trust in all of this?

That’s not good to read, Deerey. The burner accounts are a strange phenomenon clearly linked to Hilton’s circle and need stopping immediately.

I do agree with the sentiment with MK though, if IB has any new information or anything relevant to the football club, by all means go ahead and post. At the moment he is coming across as desperate to nail something to Hilton when it’s the same stuff getting recycled and questioning everything to the Nth degree. If you know anything substantial- post it in laymen terms.

You then have information and rumours coming from social media that have no basis whatsoever: I’ve heard over the past weeks we are under a transfer embargo, the tax hasn’t been paid to HMRC, the council don’t know anything about the Glebe road site, a new owner is coming in and GP is turning into a lorry site.

I certainly won’t be nailing my colours to the Hilton mast for some time, but as it stands, he is paying the bills, signing the players and has ultimately saved the football club.

Like always with football fans, there’s nothing we can do about it but sit back and see how it unfolds.

My legal expert tells me that now Hilton has offered more than the ground is worth as a monthly payment, this puts the former chairman at a significant disadvantage if/when he opts to sue.
Apparently, for as long as that case runs – we cannot be expelled from GP.
These sort of cases often run for a very long time.
My guy thinks Hilton is playing a very clever game.

What strikes me is that Hilton:
Has no chance whatsoever to asset strip – so what he sez he is – he probably is.

This is what I’ve been to led to believe aswell , Les.

I won’t pretend to have a clue about how it will eventually play out mind

We must be shifting plenty of 50% off training gear to pay these wages.

Our income from January would barely cover half of the expenditure. That’s including season ticket for next year and the 1899 memberships and not taking into account VAT.

If we take your word and imply he is using this additional income to meet the costs, it’s still hundreds of thousands- probably over a million- of external investment being used to keep the club afloat.

The accounts from past seasons hold no bearing on the clubs current financial state. We were out spending most of league one a few years ago.

Are you suggesting the figures are false from Hilton?

Meanwhile, The money that has been invested into the club thus far is non refutable. We simply would not be here without it and some gratitude should be shown to the chairman for that.

In Peter Swann’s last podcast (last year) with Iron Bru, he referred to a £1M annual shortfall, was that correct? Based on Hilton’s figures, he’s claiming that he expects to have put a total of £2.5M in in the space of 6 months. One doesn’t reconcile with the other.

most people will stop reading when you open up with a quote from Swann.

New board at Trinity; suspect that’s played a part as they turned us down before along with donny.

The thread on Twitter offers clarity on a number of things, suggest people have a look.

Personally, I see a groundshare with Trinity as a complete disaster from everybody involved if it eventually comes to fruition; a deal has to be reached with the Swann’s to remain at GP for the short term at least.

Meanwhile, The money that has been invested into the club thus far is non refutable. We simply would not be here without it and some gratitude should be shown to the chairman for that.

The plans for the new ground I’ll view with caution; I’ve been to a consultation on a 12,000 seater before and a spade never left the shed; I’ll believe it when I see it.

£35 for the year I’m paying for all sports including PPV’s. Still always paid a tenner for Ifollow/national league TV for lower league clubs when Scunny were playing though

No way I’m going to paying £80-100 per month to watch everything again.

The genie is out of the bottle.

Misinformation, lies and abuse getting tossed around today

If you are suggesting that people questioning the chairman only deal in facts IB then you will quickly lose credibility in my book.

Noticed you’ve been selective with the posts.

Which individuals and on what platforms are you referring to? Some examples would be appreciated.

    Twitter.

Start with 1500 club, although I notice he deletes most of his tweets. Dropshort would be another good one to have a look at; he in particular seems to have it in for Simon Elliot.

On the other side of the coin you’ve got the abusive burner accounts popping up and then being deleted soon after.

Looks like they came across the same issues Hilton is dealing with and decided the valuation was way off the mark. Everyone but Swann must be wrong of course.

Remember they were being called cheap skates at the time aswell.

I read that the Home Kit is £200, whilst the away kit and 3rd one are £150. I personally don’t like the away kit but I find the 3rd kit to be OK. At the end of the season what will you do with the kit when presented with it ? Thank you. UTWI

I had a check on the website and it stated the home shirt sponsorship was £150.

Looking like we are on 15/30 needed for the shirt sponsorship at present

Had a look and last year’s fixtures were released on July 6th. Surely the league need to have the ground situation wrapped up by the end up June to confirm we are able to participate next year?

I can’t see Hilton’s sign on the gates reassuring many

We reduced the prediction league entry to £10 last season, but we could put it back up to £15 and split it 3 ways – £5 prize fund, £5 sponsorship, £5 hosting. Just an idea. I’m happy to contribute either way!

    Happy to go with that.

    £15 required then chaps.

Wasn’t the best end to his time here but Wilson contributed enough for me to earn himself a place at another National League side; definitely some raw talent so hopefully he can progress.

Hayden Hackney is a perfect example on how rotten our club has been in recent years when even he looked bang average, clearly there’s a talent there.

What is your gut feeling Cliff ,you seem pretty close to it all as you were there , do you take Hilton to be a man of his word ?

Ilkeston fans speak highly of him and what he did there tbf looking at it objectively it’s so difficult to know .

Is he a someone with a slightly suspect past made good ,wanting to do good ?

You can get swept away by the mood of the room at a fans forum; I was expecting him to face tougher scrutiny, although we have to remember that most us are not property law experts.

My gut feeling is that his intentions are genuine and he wants to build something long lasting here.

The problem arises when I could also have said the same about Peter Swann all those years ago.

    Exactly this.
It’s Hilton who stated Swann wants us out.
Hilton spent most of his time at the forum bad mouthing Swann, it showed his lack of class.

I understand Hilton talked a little bit about his past.

Are you in a position to disclose the parts which he was comfortable discussing?

Most of accusations were swiftly brushed aside as not true.

The only point he did go into was the telemarketing with Brittania Law. He stated he was collecting bad debts on their behalf and was not proud of the work. He also stated that the company operated within a grey area of the law.

Regardless what happens from now on, Peter Swann will be remembered for systematically ruining this football club and delivering the most miserable and toxic atmosphere we could have imagined.

On a micro level he is arrogant and fundamentally had no respect for the club or people associated with it. Speak to people like John Staff about their experiences with him.

You clearly have a vendetta against Hilton Interested Bystander and you may well be proved correct, if you are then that will be another promise Swann has broken because he stated we would be left in safe hands.

    Good post.

I’ll ask the same question that I asked of Hilton. What is the end game for Swann if he is playing games?

The ground has an agreement for the club to play there for 99 years doesn’t it ? I don’t know how water tight that is as Swann implemented it.

I’d be highly sceptical that Swann will get planning permission for anything worthwhile and the opposition would be as militant as anything you’re going to see in North Lincolnshire.

The random, unregistered strip of land has appeared from somewhere though, these things aren’t missed on a standard property transaction, let alone a 15 acre site worth millions.

Curious to know what interestedbystander and a few others think Hilton’s endgame is?

He’s walked into a loss making club on its knees with no tangible assets. Thus far, 1.3m has gone into the club to pay wages and taxes.

Even if he got his hands on the ground. He’d be the best part of £5m down and would have nightmare getting planning through for anything of note.

There doesn’t seem to be much juice left to squeeze ?

Obviously Hilton took the stage last night but were there any comments from Dean on any issue

I actually thought he came across well. He wants to change the culture behind the scenes and improve the relationship between players-fans. He was enthused by the prospect of an open day which could be on the cards.

He took responsibility for the defeats last year and stated that the players coming in now are his signings. The ones signed in January were essentially not good enough and the ones no-one else wanted.

That all sounds great, but if we get spanked by Rushal Olympic opening game he will fighting for his job.

The only part which was slightly uncomfortable was when he said one of our players has rejected a new deal and no clubs have come in for them “but why would they” this insinuated it was Wilson.
