The news of 2 director appointments seems to have got lost in the chaos.
Michelle Harness and Keith Waters.
Hopefully they can provide some experience to steady the ship and reach and a solution with Swann over the land
Absolutely crucial we have a place to independently debate all things SUFC, especially in the absence of a competent Trust or supporters group.
I hope the last 24 hours Do not deter Matt to continue running the site, I know I’d have packed my bags a long time ago rather than take the unnecessary flak.

Hopefully there’s a few in that Facebook group hanging their heads in shame after reading that.
This is exactly what we have been fearful of.
If Swann and Hilton are reading this, I urge you both to find a resolution.

You can still support the club and the chairman but question decisions that are being made.
No problem with him admitting he underestimated the task at hand as that’s been evident for some time now, bringing board members into the fold is a good move- I questioned whether there would be financial input- a reasonable question.
Not impressed with the attack on Matt or this forum; most of the posts have been respectful, if he is getting annoyed at the same questions being asked then it’s Time for Hilton to grow a thicker skin. There will be more challenging times ahead and unfortunately criticism goes with the territory.
My main concern is the ground; if we can reach an agreement with Swann or have firm dates for a new ground to be built, then these concerns will subside. Once a football club loses a stadium then it leaves itself vulnerable as we have found out. We must reach some sort of conclusion.
In the meantime, I’ll continue attending games, encouraging others to do the same and support the club financially in any way I can and as i have always done. I’ll also be looking forward to the new season as much as anyone else and can’t wait to see how the side perform.
I have gave him the benefit of the doubt with the situation he inherited from Swann, also appreciative of the fact he has saved the club by clearing outstanding tax debts and paying the wages when there was nothing left.
But there are worrying signs that’s cannot be ignored:
Why are creditors still owed money when we are continuously signing players?
Are the new directors required to invest and if so, what has changed to make this happen?
Are 1899 members getting their money back?
Most importantly, what is going on with Glanford park? A new ground won’t be arriving in 2 years and a groundshare will send the club under. At the moment it seems we are relying on goodwill from Swann or the lengthy legal process it takes to evict a tenant from a commercial premises. Even if we managed to somehow remain there for 12 months we will eventually be getting kicked out.

Can’t fault the matchday prices- if we are doing well you’d expect a 4K average.
You’re nuts. We’re in for another striker regardless of what you think. Why we would get rid of Elliot I’ve no idea. I can’t see that happening but there you go.
Other seasons people have been worrying about lack of squad depth and now the same lot are worried now about having too much.
Is there a happy medium ?
Yeh, there is. 2 players for every position and a couple of young lads spare. If you face an injury/suspension crisis then utilise the loan market. We managed it for years
Don’t know where this concept has come from we need 30 players on the books- especially non league
Isn’t there a 250k shortfall this year in funding and 500k next year ?
Would be a terrific signing for NLN; for whatever reason he seemed to hit it off here where he has failed elsewhere
Shame, however I can’t see how the academy can run on its own until/if we return to the EFL
Will they be required to invest ?
As someone with little knowledge in the area, why would the accounts be delayed ending up to June 22? If anything is sinister in there wouldn’t it only reflect negatively on Swann?
Been keeping an eye out and nothing has stood out, although that may be due to a lack of knowledge on the player pool.
Kings Lynn have had their side decimated which finished 2nd last year. Additionally, Chester/darlo fans have both raised 100k separately for transfer budgets so expect them to bring in some quality.
I did read somewhere that the part time nature of this league means it’s hard to entice good players away from their local area. Perhaps explains why Glen Taylor has stayed with Spennymoor despite scoring a shed load of goals for them in recent years
Can’t believe Lord Kitchener had the cheek to bad mouth this forum when you read the absolute drivel in there.
My biggest worry about Hilton thus far is he actually chooses to post in there; it’s going to be carnage after a few defeats in a row

Many more to go?
June 28, 2023 at 5:42 pm in reply to: Will you go watch another team when the iron are no more? #265092Well, he did insinuate we wouldn’t be starting season. Time’s ticking on that one⏳
If we’re evicted any time from now, do we have permission from the authorities to play at Gainsborough or another stadium?
God knows. You would have thought the national league would seek assurances at their AGM held the other week.
Come to think of it, if Swann managed to evict us before the end of the 23/24 season we will be screwed anyway due to fixture clashes.
I can’t see another way out of it other than reaching an agreement with Swann to play at GP until May 2024 at the very least.

It is quibell park.
Hilton has stated he wants all the teams training under one roof and the stadium to be only used by the players on matchdays. Allegedly there will be investment in upgrading the facilities to include 4g pitches and potentially accommodation for players in the future.
I like the idea in principle, but again it comes down to funding and timescales.
If Swann manages to evict us with the next 6 months then we are left ground sharing with Gainsborough and training on a Sunday league pitch.
Can’t imagine he’s on a cheap wage. Surely one of those we are looking to offload?
Puts us on the old Kingsway golf course following those directions.

Cliff we have Boyce, Ethan Young who probably won’t get much of a look in “probably send him out on loan”. Evans and Kouogun you would have thought first choice and 2 who can fill in there.
We only have 4 natural CB’s on the books and one of those will probably go out on loan. Hence why I think we need one more. Put it this way, we need another CB more than another LB, we have two of those already. They’re natural LB’s too.
Another striker is a must, as is a left sided attacker.
Evans
Kouogun
Barrows
Denton
Boyce(Ogle)
(Young)More than enough
Butterfield, age and wage would put most off. Wilson didn’t help himself when he spat his dummy out at the end of the season. Attitude
Needs to change. Both must have been trying to find another club.
You have to prove you are worth it not think you are good enough.Wilson had offers elsewhere a lot higher than where we find ourselves now but with the players coming in wanted to stay put. Butterfield had offers too but wanted to stay due to the same reason.
Why another LB Cliff ?. Tyler Denton and Michael Kelly are both LB’s. Barrows is a RB as well so not sure we need another if we’re keeping Ogle.
In my opinion we need a left winger, another CB and a striker.
If Denton can play there too than that should cover it; I’d be surprised to see Ogle here come August, if not then another RB won’t be required.
We currently have 6 centre backs in the books- can’t see another needed there
Once again we find ourselves with too many centre mids; would imagine Robertson will be going out on loan. Perhaps time for pastures new for Beestin?
Butterfield will be a tricky one- I could never figure out his best position. If Dean can solve that puzzle then it will scary what he will do at the level.
Wilson staying with us could be a shrewd move for both parties, it’s worth bearing in mind that Dean was critical of him during the fans forum. How that relationship pans out will be interesting.
Ogle had a good season with us last year, but a full back is usually the position of least concern; if we can get a relatively good few for him then I wouldn’t stand in his way.
3 more due to arrive next week. Right back, striker and a left back should just about do it
Matt said we have reserved Callum Roberts’ home shirt.
9 more to sign up to cover the cost.

Maybe Swann is too busy preparing for his legal battle with Apollo bookmakers to focus on evicting us. If they take him to the cleaners we might get the ground for 1.5million as Hilton suggests it’s worth.
Always had the technical ability but his attitude and physical strength let him down for me during his 1st spell. It’s come to light there were issues behind the scenes that may explain that.
Looked a different specimen during the 2nd spell; I always wondered if Hurst had a part to play?
Gone up to Scotland and won plenty of personal accolades and seems to have fulfilled his potential
Hope he’s getting a nice packet now And enjoys the rest of his career
Could do with a few more splashing the cash on the prediction league. £15 for shirt sponsorship/entry to prediction league and a contribution to site cost.

How much do we have in total?
A staggering signing for this level.

It was; Roj is a great asset for the club.
