They won’t take those down from The Fishy unless they are proven libellous – after what happened with our previous primary funder ,it’s like Town fans have a vested interest in potential ‘Wrong un’ club owners and seem to be out for them -that it’s Scunthorpe in this case just magnifies this case .it would go off on there big time if it just vanished, I imagine .

‘It is no surprise to me that iron-bru.co.uk is being targeted, just as it doesn’t surprise me why Hilton went on Iron Hour’.

Agreed. Nothing remotely ‘independent’ about Iron Hour’. This is why Bru is valued by many of us on here; for maintaining independence and being critical but fair, supportive when it’s merited. Without it, we’d be poorer as supporter base. We often don’t agree with each other, the last few months have reached a peak, but give me that any day over a doolally Facebook Group and the critique-lite lad bantz of Iron Hour. IMO if they’d received a small fraction of the insults and abuse hurled at SST, ME and BM over the years, they wouldn’t have lasted five minutes. Thus, Max’s latest cheap shot grates even more.

It does amuse me to see Iron Hour get criticisms for being weak on critique and soft on Hilton after the way 3 of the 4 have had a go at Iron Bru for being too weak on Swann (I don’t think Gareth has, to be fair). However, I don’t see anything to suggest that they are some club sponsored mouthpiece.

That said, I do agree that the style isn’t for me and it is unlikely to yield any productive critique of the situation. It does just seem to be a group of lads drinking a beer, while cracking jokes and the occasional Iron talk is thrown in.

It is that, and fine if you like it, but when a key member starts spreading rubbish about like Max has done, it’s out of order. I’ve noticed other members of it chipping in with occasional digs on Twitter too. Anyway, made my point, just my opinion. Don’t want to labour it.

Fair, though I had thought the others had toned it down since making it and getting messages of good luck from IB.

Gareth comes across as a genuine bloke who loves united. Max wants to build a media portfolio and has got Gareth involved. Don’t know the others bar Joe who was treated like **** by a self appointed club official.

Whilst Bru has had Toby on recently who would go see United if they played on the moon, Brad and others.

1stly his comment is a total fabrication, one can only guess at why, just after his new pals whom he’s using as a vehicle for his out of control ego ,” reached out” to Hilton that he chose to libel Bru/Matt while offering no proof.
What we do know is that he was always wanting to be on the bru podcast and Matt sometimes indulged him until he stole content from Bru for a book he was “writing” and gave no credit ,didn’t even bother to ask permission .He’s a councillor now, would you trust this person whom I believe to be an egomaniac?
He was all over the Trust when it was launching too,I bet if you ask them he’s nowhere to be seen now

He reached out to the one’s that would entertain him .

I don’t like it the lads get abuse , people slandering them ,saying they are on board with Swann or whatever .

They are good guys ,i genuinely believe that and I think Simon Eliott is to (with whatever information he has been drip fed)

A lot of your fans need to wake up ,and that’s from a Grimsby fan who for some reason actually cares about Scunthorpe Utd .

With all due respect. Grimsby fans watched Fenty systemically ruin your club from championship regulars, to non league (twice) and left you with a Sunday league training pitch a ground falling to bits whist taking the Mariner’s trusts shares. Grimsby fans were angry yet could barely muster a protest of more than a few dozen together.

I’m not isolating Grimsby fans either; it’s difficult for clubs with smaller fan bases to organise themselves accordingly.

There is literally nothing we can do other than ask questions when we can. We don’t even a local newspaper around these parts.

Exactly I didn’t and I am not too big to admit that, that’s maybe why I care more . I did not realise at the time what a mess we were in – but if it comes to the worst I don’t want Scunthorpe Utd to go and I am pretty sure 99% of Town fans don’t .

It was very snide, no coincidence that the following day the iron hour were acting as Hilton’s mouthpiece again.

I think this is where an independent regulator is desperately needed within our game. In fairness it is not our responsibility to be trawling through company accounts and become experts in conveyancing.

It’s the Wild West at the moment and clubs like Macclesfield and Bury should not be going out of business.

Absolutely Wild West Cliff. But can you see an independent regulatory body happening soon? So in the meantime…

I don’t even know how they would regulate it tbh .
This fit and proper person test and proof of funds model obviously is not fit for purpose .

Just look at Wigan – taken over and then not paying staff or player wages a few months later then getting points deducted ,which I am not sure is really a suitable punishment when it’s not changing people not getting paid or particularly punishing the owner .

I am not sure what the answer is .

As you say, the Owners’ & Directors’ Test is an absolute farce. You could be a discharged bankrupt, have been subject previously to a banning order preventing you from being a director of a company and have a list of spent convictions as long as your arm and you would still pass it. That’s how committed the FA are to cleaning up the game. The further down the pyramid you go, it’s a self certification exercise.

Of course it’s all too easy to point the finger at the FA, but outgoing owners and the board of directors at clubs have a massive part to play by ensuring their clubs don’t get passed on to crooks because that’s what good people and good custodians do. There is absolute no excuse if a club ends up in the wrong hands.

I would like to see club owners having to register a personal bond with League equivalent to perhaps 35%-50% of a club’s turnover. This will be held in trust and if required, used by the League if they ever need to step in to ensure creditors are paid. This upfront obstacle would put off a lot of the flash, no cash brigade and at the end of an owner’s tenure the bond would be refunded back to them.

Gareth needs to be careful. Such comments will be interpreted as rumours, scare mongering and abuse of the saviour by some.

Max Bell committed socialist backing someone who quotes Trump and Musk as people who’s example is worth following and a manager who had to delete his posts ,including one with Rees Mogg
