Looks like a back 5 could be reappearing to start the season.
That’s a very interesting signing
No doubt there will be several posts replacing the word “interesting.”
I’ll start with disappointing.Hijacked thread?
Alan Knills’ “no better than we have” was what I understood. Was that ‘leaked’ by the anti-Knill brigade? Tell us more les.
TBF Butler did say that they had done no defensive work yet. Having said that, professional footballers, at any level, only need to look around to see that 4 on 1 near post and 1 on 3 back post needs adjustment.

The bit where you said he was “not very good.” I’m not sure who, if anybody, said he was “one of our best ever” but it wasn’t me. He was comfortably the best keeper in NLN and deserves a chance in the EFL. His distribution was excellent, not perfect obviously but outstanding for NLN IMO.

Of course you’re entitled to your opinion of Fitzsimons, but you’re wrong. For comfirmation please see NLN team of the season.

Rene posted prize money details somewhere. I think if we lost every game we’d get £10k, maybe Rene will confirm.
On the positive side it will give other players game time as if it were a reserve game.
And there’s prize money.1 user thanked author for this post.
He has to be perfect while we all forget and pretend Banana foot and fumble never made a mistake. We have to forget he was “let go” by someone while scrutinising others for the same.
As BPG would say,”Keith Houchen was right”Nobody is expecting perfection, we’re a NL team, even PL keepers drop clangers.
What we must have, as a minimum, is two keepers fit for purpose.1 user thanked author for this post.
Yes, his dipomatic reason was that he “wanted to play in front of big crowds”
So not for more money then? Yeh right!Yes the amount of superior amateur knowledge about professional football on this forum never ceases to amaze me, we have some scintillating football minds operating on this site.
There are indeed some gifted and insightful amateurs on here (no names) who see things that blinkered professionals don’t.
He didn’t do it without Brus’ help though did he? We’re only trying to help him again.
But starting the season with only one keeper isn’t an option, Campbell must see that.
If we send him out on loan then we’ll need to sign 2 keepers surely.
Andy Butler tells the lad not to read social media and has a keeper on his shopping list. There is a clear message in those two statements
What is clear is that we can’t start the season with only one keeper and Maison must know that.
“Rory Watson was a good keeper”
No he wasn’t.2 users thanked author for this post.
Truro 31st Jan!!! They’ll have to make an early decision on the pitch.
Both York games midweek – disgraceful.
Sensible Christmas and Easter at least. Not the answer then!!
Over the counter remedies are available.
Doubt many got to the end, Rene has too much time on his hands.
Who or what is GPT btw? From OK to world class in a day. Make your mind up!
Butler said he wants a keeper to challenge for number 1, not a bench warmer.
York is a popular choice amongst the players.
It is if it suits your “knock the club” agenda.
We had the best keeper in the division, his distribution was outstanding for NLN and would be good a few divisions higher. An OK keeper would have kept us in NLN for another year.

But if he has no other offers……?
Kieran O’Hara OOC at Kilmarnock.

Those odds put us in a play off spot which exceeds most of our expectations.
Carlisle price is ridiculous IMO, their fans will be expecting to win every game – sound familiar?Maybe that’s what fits the budget – for now. Or he has improved?
Maybe we could have afforded a decent NL Keeper instead of spending a large chunk on Beestin…*
Privy to Alfie’s contract negotiations were you?
Was you?
No, definitely “were you”.
